Had this on my list to try for a while, and it did not disappoint. Ordered multiple small plates, and each one was delicious. Don't love that they charge for chips and salsa, and it isn't cheap, but it is what it is. The guacamole trio was fantastic! The octopus tacos were my favorite but the prawns with coconut milk were also amazing, I just wish they served a rice with them because the sauce is so good.

Despite its less-than-ideal location in a neighborhood that might raise a few eyebrows, Alma manages to shine brightly with its delicious food offerings. Let's start with the star of the show - the Chihuahuan cheese. Oh, my taste buds were in absolute bliss! The rich, creamy texture combined with the perfect amount of seasoning created an explosion of flavors in every bite. It's a must-try for any cheese lover! The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a charming decor that adds a touch of authenticity to the dining experience. While the service might not be lightning-fast, the food makes it a worthwhile journey. So, if you're craving a taste of Mexico in the midst of the city, Alma is the place to be!

Superb mexican restaurant in the hear of downtown! The atmosphere was very classy, with friendly and prompt service, all of course topped with fantastic food! The mix of salsas and guacamole is a MUST!

Cool atmosphere, good food, very busy due to the conference. Tried a large part of the menu due to the smaller portions, which is fine. Highlights; Tuna ceviche, fried cheese, blood orange margarita, prawns. Pork and beef entries had a nice presentation. Good tequila menu for after dinner. Server was in training so a few hiccups there but she showed effort just needs to up her game on "being aware". Over all, a great experience 👍

This is hands down one of the BEST dining experiences I have ever had. The customer service was great, food was delicious, our waiter was super friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. To make it even better, when I accidentally left my debit card at the restaurant, they called me to tell me I’d left it behind, and at that point I couldn’t come back to get it. Someone from their restaurant came and hand delivered my debit card to my hotel! Seriously THE BEST service. Next time I’m in Atlanta I will be back.

Had my mom's retirement party here. The atmosphere was great and our server Nicole was beautiful and amazing. She took great care of such a large party. The food was good, portion controlled bites.

Alma Cocina did not disappoint! The service was the best I've ever had. Every waitress and staff member was so nice. I ordered the pork belly cubano torta, and my group shared the salsa/guac sampler, and the fried cheese. I highly recommend all of these! For dessert I got the churro sandwich and it was the perfect size and flavor. I highly recommend this place!

First let me say our waiter was amazing and very entertaining and made it a great experience as well. From taking our orders and recommending certain foods. All delicious by the way.

So I ate here in July with a group of friends and the ambience was nice but I thought the meals were overpriced and the quality of what I ordered didn't impress. I'd be willing to go back but only if my waiter doesn't spill chips on me. (He wasn't very apologetic.)

Every dish seemed to fall short for me in terms of flavor. You can't mix and match tacos, so my friends and I all ordered different tacos and split. We got the shrimp, pork, and chicken. The shrimp and pork tacos were pretty bland. The chicken was good. The fried chihuahua cheese just wasn't as rich as I was expecting. The service was great. The margarita was good. The quality of the food was good, just not as much flavor as I typically seek.

We had a fantastic dinner here. Our daughter found it in Yelp and the short walk from our hotel was soooo worth it. The decor is warm and inviting and the "outside" space is lovely. The hanging installation as you can see in the photo is magnificent. Our server Noah was engaging, knowledgeable and very personable. Our son was able to eat and also explore the space. The small plates were delicious. Sorry, no photos since no one wanted to wait to dig in. We had the octopus, guacamole, empanadas and the fried Chihuahua cheese made table side. All we're amazing. I also had one of the tastiest drinks, made by Jade, with a cube made of passion fruit mango and chilies topped with tequila. The menu is small but concise and well laid out. All in all we can't wait to go back.

Seriously some of the best Mexican food I've had. Alex was amazing and provided fantastic recommendations; between the pineapple guacamole, white shrimp tacos, and great desserts, it really hits the spot for modern and unique Mexican. The El Classico and the orange margaritas are fantastic!

This is a very cute fancier type of Mexican cuisine restaurant. The chips and salsa was good. The mahi mahi fish inside the taco was good but the tortilla and all the garnish on it wasn’t and it lacked flavor. The vanilla ice cream was the best part.

Anyone from the Deloitte or other companies from that building knows how important Alma Cocina is for a quick bite. The patio atmosphere is fantastic even though it is still within the building. The selection and variety of the meals is one of the reasons why it is always convenient. Great food!

Nice place to eat I tried the grilled Octopus, It was great, small portion, but just perfect 👌 I give big recognition to Michelle the manager, she was professional and friendly when I told her about the lamb belly tacos were not good, she just agreed without arguments and promised to move that item from the menu. I like that kind of mind. There's nothing wrong with having an item which is not perfect while everything else was great. I will come back to the place.

Wonderful "Birthday Date Night" loved the atmosphere of the dinning room. Our server last night was so attentive and personable she really made our night. I really suggest signing up for their points program we got a nice little birthday surprise on our bill. I'm excited to try some of their sister restaurants.

We had the the Fried Cheese and Empanadas Beef App and they were both amazingly delicious! The pastry like shell was impressively flaky while still solid holding the most tender braised short rib. The cheese dish was a very nice surprise filled with the most succulent cheese with just a hint of a spice in the salsa verde. Branden, our waiter, was super attentive but not annoying at all! He was well versed in the menu having only been there for 3 days! This will definitely be a repeat on my list.

This place is fenomenal. My first time going to a gourmet style Mexican restaurant and Alma Cocina didn't disappoint. Everything from the outside area around the restaurant to the food and service was excellent. Our waitress's name was Britney and her customer service skills are top notch; very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and I will definitely recommend this spot to friends and family.

Great low-lighting atmosphere and the fried cheese appetizer that everyone else posts is absolutely worth it. For entree, the pork chop is very good. Peaches were a nice touch and meat was very juicy, especially for pork.

Really good food! Service was excellent! Food is reasonably priced, except the fish taco (you only get one). The chicken dish is great too. like the other reviewer I tried the blood margarita and enjoyed it.

Classy atmosphere and stellar service. The flavours of the food and drinks were amazing. The trio of dips made the guacamole sing. Great presentation and very unique combinations of flavours. This was a 10 star dining experience!

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. I was a little hesitant about an "upscale" Mexican restaurant at first. However, I am so glad we got to try this place. It was absolutely PHENOMENAL! We ordered: Guacamole & Salsa Tasting Fried Chihuahua Cheese Short Rib Empanadas Tomahawk Pork Chop El Clasico Margarita Mexican 66 Agua Fresca Ice Cream Sandwich The guac and salsa was great to sample all their offerings and is served with whole tostadas instead of the usual tortilla chips. The fried cheese was delicious! It comes sizzling in a molcajete and is served with tortillas. The empanadas were one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten in my life. I did not know food could taste that good. The porkchop is served with pomegranates that really make the flavors pop. The margaritas rimmed with Tajin are delicious! The Mexican 66 was underwhelming and rather small. I would not recommend that drink. The Agua Fresca changes every day and the one we had that day was okay after some stirring. We weren't thrilled about it but it was okay. The Ice Cream Sandwich was a great! Absolutely, delicious churros and drizzle. Order it! You will not regret it! I cannot wait to return to this place! It was a bit pricey but it is definitely worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Well haven't been here since pre-covid but I am so happy this place is still around. Not an item on the menu us not with trying. Do the small plates we had the smoked octopus tacos, trio of guacamole, chihuahua fried cheese, short ribs empanadas & squash blossoms....for dessert we had the churro ice cream sandwich....also very creative tequila based beverages...give this place a try you will not be disappointed

Service at the bar was timely and staff were friendly. The tacos were fantastic however we were told they'd be leaving the menu soon. They were out of the pork chop when we ordered, so we got the steak instead. However, the man beside us ordered and received a pork chop (after us). The margaritas are also pretty decent 3.5 stars.

Nice trendy spot for a drink and some tacos. The food was great, the atmosphere and setting was fun and lively. The service was ok, and I was a little disappointed I could not mix up the tacos. I wanted to try them all because they all sounded so good. They have vegan options too.

Stopped here because I really wanted to try their huitlacoche empanadas, however they were not available. I ordered the chicken tinga street tacos instead. The tortillas were soaked and fell apart. The flavors were alright, but could tell everything was pre-made. The service was good. I think I should have stuck with chips & guac.

Amazing restaurant! Everything we ordered is so taste and has a character. The service is superb. Will go back again and again. Make sure you make reservation if you are planning to go after 7pm...

This place came highly recommended by our Airbnb proprietor and she was dead on. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Part of the restaurant spills out into this beautiful atrium for the large office building and Ritz Carlton that is next door. It was a beautiful spot to sit for a late dinner. You must try the 3 guacamole and 3 salsa appetizer sampler. Served with fresh made tortilla and plantain chips, we thought about going back the next night just for this. We all went with the cheaper dinner option which was the tacos. Not sure what they're doing to their fish tacos but they were by far the best with all the others being very good. Very kind and helpful server.

Is a great proposition, a novel approach to Mexican cuisine. Flavors are greatly combine with a nice presentation. Cocktails are also nicely mix and presented. Service was very good. We were celebrating a birthday, and a dessert was served to our table as a gift. Overall, an excellent experience. If you are in Atlanta, a great stop for lunch.

Attractive and comfortable inside, excellent selection of Mezcal, great wait staff but when I ordered the steak on the menu what I got was two pieces of tenderloin. $38 dish and I got 4 bites of meat and some mashed yucca and it was all very good. But you cant call that a $38 steak.

Went here when I was in Atlanta for work. Food: I had the empanadas and chicken tinga Verde tacos. Everything was amazing. The empanadas had a delicious sauce and the tacos were full of flavor. It was very filling too. Atmosphere: bomb a** music and very friendly staff. Cleanliness: very clean. Price: i haven't eaten at many places in Atlanta but the price seemed pretty standard from what I could see. Overall, highly recommend if you're in the area!

My friend and I had dinner tonight. The street tacos that we ordered was excellent. Service was very good and the staff were eager to help us. This is upscale Mexican food not something you get from Taco Bell. Highly recommended.

Good food. Definitely recommend trying the variety of Guacamole options they have. The Yucca mash was delicious!! Sweet Plantains were good too.

What an amazing dining experience. We stopped in while in town for a convention and was treated to some of the most upscale Mexican dishes we have had in a long time. We were taken care of by Jade and Greg and to say they were both knowledgeable is an understatement. They truly gave my wife and I the best dining experience we have had in a very long time. Give this place a try you won’t be disappointed.

Came here for a dinner with colleagues. We sat in the atrium area, which was a great experience. Good guacamole and appetizers—we were filling up long before the entrees arrived! I had the tacos and they were amazing. Also, if you like hot sauce, Alma has some of the spiciest I have ever tasted—there are four different kinds and you should have only a tiny taste of the two hottest ones before you put it on your food. Dessert was probably the weakest part of dinner but wasn’t bad at all. I’d definitely go here again!

It was my visit in Atlanta and while exploring the place to eat something good and new, I went into this restaurant. When I visited it was afternoon and there not much rush around 1:30 pm. I found the table quickly. I ordered vegetarian, there were not much vegetarian dishes but the food was very delicious and the service was really good.
