Great local place for BBQ! Generous sized portions and great taste. Peach cobbler was tasty and the banana pudding was amazing. All the meats (and we ordered everything) were tender and perfectly cooked and seasoned.

We spent the day at DBA for a private lesson, shadowing Matt, the owner, and Antonio, the head chef, to see all of the delicious BBQ get made. We were welcomed into their kitchen to watch and learn how they season their meats. We started by making a barbecue rub, then seasoned wings and pork ribs for them to be cooked in the smoker. We then made our own sauces. And finally, we shadowed and learned how they make all of their sides from scratch. The care and energy they put into their food making is found in every bite. It's hard to choose what was the best part - the Pork Ribs, Pastrami, Chicken, and Brisket are all very tender. The mac & cheese and collard greens are perfect sides. Everything here is delicious, you really cannot go wrong. My favorite BBQ in Atlanta - and likely my favorite restaurant here, too! Thank you so much to Matt, Antonio, and the DBA team!

So it’s become partly religion to come to this place every time I touch down in Atlanta. Immediately!!!! This place is very dear to me and the bbq is definitely worth it. I always get the two meat platter with two sides, feel free to mix it up however you like or try a bit of everything! I always get their brisket and their bbq ribs. 🤤 At the table there’s a variety of sauces to choose from to suit your flavor profile your feeling for the day, I think they sell the sauces too. Moreover, I highly recommend this place also because it’s been good EVERY TIME I go, I love their Mac and cheese. Those collard greens give me that old south flavor I love with a little kick to it, they also keep hotlanta sauce at the table if you want it more spicy. The corn muffins are great to start, but my god I love this place. Overall, you won’t be disappointed, and the service we receive from Laura is what makes the experience truly more memorable and amazing. I’ll always dine here!!

I keep wondering if I will stop finding great BBQ in Atlanta and then I stumble on yet another great addition to the BBQ list. I really enjoyed DBA BBQ’s flavorful takes on their menu and the overall zestiness of their foods. The sauces were more on the vinegary end of the spectrum but they all had really bright and full flavors. I really enjoyed the brisket, which was thick cut and had a beautiful dark bark on the outside. The Carolina Chopped Pork was also very good, with a nice amount of flavor and spice. This is really nice spot with a large outdoor dining area. I really enjoyed it.

First time visiting with the family on a 4th of July and it was a great experience. Our server Laura was very attentive and pleasant. She made sure that we felt at home. We ordered water and a lager beer. The beer was good but it was at room temperature and I'm q cold cold beer guy. For lunch we got the Turkey Sandwich, pulled pork plate and a two meat combo plate(pork and turkey) and everything was delicious. Pulled pork was fantastic, moist and with a lot of smoke flavor. Turkey was fantastic too. For the sides we ordered cream corn, tots and baked beans. All good but I think that the beans were too sweet. Anyways friendly staff, nice ambiance and delicious food. We definitely come back.

I called and asked whether curbside pickup is a available. Was told yes, so ordered. Arrived and called restaurant several times and placed on hold each time after explaining I’m parked and waiting on order. Each time the call was ended by restaurant. Finally went in to pick up order. I was already annoyed but was looking forward to enjoying my food. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. The brisket was all fat and I couldn’t eat the sandwich (pic attached). I get brisket can be fatty but all fat, come on. Also ordered cheddar muffins which were burnt. The mac and cheese was good. So basically I paid $16 for mac and cheese.

The best smoked wings I have ever had! I also ordered the Archie Bunker sandwich. It was pulled pork, sweet BBQ sauce, and mac n cheese on Texas toast. Delicious! My first visit and it won't be my last for sure!

Well, down here for a concert and just have a taste for ribs outside of cheesehead land. Can’t recalled having ribs anywhere but home base. I can’t say for certain that it beats home base but definitely gives it a run for its money. speaking of money…I might be on the cheap side…or a friend keep saying “U’re not cheap…U’re “frugal”. The meal is a tad on the costly side, BUT what do U expect for good food? The beer was a nice start to the meal. Definitely thumbs up on the beans, coleslaw was good, but I prefer the sweetness of KFC. My son ordered The Archie Bunker…WOW!!! He loves the sandwich and we had a great conversation about THAT subject matter! 😂. My all time favorite sandwich…the Ruben…glad they didn’t ruined it by doing something funky. The Ruben have everything I like, maybe I’ll ask for extra 1000 island next time. Now for the ribs…WOW! Very tasting! Text a picture to my daughter (the ribs lover) she hates me! If there is a knock on it…the sauce that U can add on the side, it’s on the loose side. I like my sauce on the thick and gooey side. JUST because I like my sauce to cling heavily, these sauce R a great add to the tasty ribs! Overall it was a great experience and definitely a repeat for me the next time I’m in the area.

This place is not easily noticeable from the street. Drive slow when you get close. There is a private parking lot beside the establishment with limited parking shared by other businesses. This venue is pretty spacious on the inside and they seem to have a special every day of the week. I sat at the bar to watch NFL games. The staff is pretty friendly. I like that this place was not over crowded. I ordered the Big Burger with sweet potato tots. The Big Burger is a beef patty topped with pepper jack cheese and brisket. There is also some jalapenos in there. The sweet potato tots do not come with any sauce but the BBQ sauce will help. I would have given this place 5 stars but the BBQ weirded me out. They have a good variety of sauce but all the sauce are watery. I assume that the sauces are vinegar based. Couldn't you have one sauce that is not vinegar based.

Updated - my second visit today and the Reuben is very good with a nice flavor and this time it wasnt on rye, but plain white bread, which was an odd change from my first visit. Tastey but very dry.

I would've given this place 5 stars, but the hostess needs to be replaced. She seemed irritated by having customers, and my guest and I didn't feel welcomed. Still, our server was attentive and accommodating. The the food was A1 delicious. The brisket, ribs, and pastrami were excellent, as tender as meat can be. The collards and onion rings were good also. We're already planning another visit. Highly recommend if you're a carnivore like myself.

I dropped by here on a whim because some friends and I happened to be close by. After reading the menu we walked in and saw a pretty standard bar area where someone took our order. I had the cheeseburger with pimento cheese, fries, and the banana pudding. After receiving our food we ate on the back patio. The burger was absolutely fantastic. Easily the best burger I’ve had this year and definitely the best one I’ve had in Atlanta. Whenever I go to new places, this is the burger to beat. The pimento cheese and seasonings really elevate this from being a standard burger into being worth driving across the city for. The fries are solid. If you’ve had Five Guys, these fries definitely put me in the same frame of mind. The portions are pretty great for the price, and definitely filling. The banana pudding was good, but not extraordinary in my opinion. I could see myself ordering it again because I want it, not because I want there’s specifically. Overall, surprised this place isn’t hyped up more.

One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta! I know everyone talks about Fox Bros as the famous place in the city, and that is good bbq, but DBA blows them out of the water in my opinion. Absolutely phenomenal! And a very chill atmosphere, lots of TVs (usually showing sports) inside, nice patio seating outside, friendly staff. Can't recommend highly enough!!! Pic shows a two-meat and a three-meat platter with sides.

This evening I order from DBA Barbecue on Grub hub. I have ordered from here maybe once or twice before. The food is tasty in the general sense. They are not a too die for restaurant, but good to satisfy a random craving. This evening they were not serving at their usual level of generality. I had the pulled chicken plate (pulled chicken and two sides) which was received cold (which I will blame on grub hub as it had to be delivered). The pulled chicken was also dry. It was to be served with a sweet honey barbecue sauce that was laden with the loud tang of vinegar and mustard notes that overpowered the sweetness, if there was any to be found. Once doctored up with Kroger brand Memphis style sauce I moved on to the greens. The collard were almost sweet and lacked any Smokey or down home flavor to be associated with smoke/country meat or salt pork, turkey necks, or fat back. I know it is the custom of some families to incorporate sugar in their collards, but some sugar and using it to flavor the greens are two different things. I also ordered bacon as a side item that I NEVER RECEIVED, so I am unable to critique their selection and technique of preparing and cooking pork belly. I ordered a burger for my brother which had an uneven cook throughout with occasional pink peering through the bites of his burger. He deemed it satisfactory, all things considered, but said that it lacked flavor and/or seasoning. Due to the missing side, the improper cooking of the burger, and the other flavoring issues I’ll have to give them 2 out of 5 stars

Over all the food was great. I wouldn't recommend the brisket nachos, gives it an odd taste. The brisket was very good. Our kids loved the fries and the toddler loved the mac and cheese. Drinks are bottled, excluding the water. The young lady was nice, but could of been more attentive. The atmosphere was more for young people to older people. Not somewhere I would take my kids to again.

This bar is in a nice location and could be what you're looking for if you want to grab drinks and BBQ with the standard scene, but it's not the best BBQ I've had in the neighborhood. Pricing is standard for a bar setting. Takeout was a 15-20 min wait. Got a 4 meat combo with brisket, pastrami, pulled pork, and ribs. Pastrami and brisket were not juicy/dry, despite getting the moist brisket. The fat layer on the brisket was thicker than the meat in some portions, which seemed like a bit much, even for fatty brisket. It seemed like the slices were sitting out for a bit because the meat was slightly shriveled compared to the fatty layer. There was a real good smoky flavor though. Pulled pork was under seasoned but fine with the sauce. Ribs were super tasty, with or without sauce. The variety of meats and sides on the menu is impressive. I wanted to try the turkey but it was out. Personally I'd rather have fewer options that are super solid than the wide variety though. My standards may be high after having the best BBQ in Texas, but now I want to find something local that comes close! Pros: large selection of meats and sides, nice staff, good texture of ribs Cons: okay to subpar BBQ, loud when busy, beware of drivers not paying attention to the one way path

Waitress was a little inpatient we had just got to table and was already asked what we wanted to drink. It was our first time like let us sit and look at menu's first. Two adults and four kids that takes time to decide what the kids want then ourselves. The food was great I'll be back soon. The kids didn't care for the lemonade it was too sour needed more water and sugar to balance it out. The sweet tea wasn't strong it seemed like it was too much water basically watered down. The waitress did switch kids drinks so that was a plus. I see they have bingo and trivia night that's great.

The staff was very nice and pleasant to deal with. I ordered the brisket chopped (lean), 12 wings (6 lemon pepper and 6 garlic Parmesan), creamed corn, collard greens and Mac & cheese. I tried to order the beef ribs but there was a $17 UP-CHARGE! The brisket was amazing, highly recommended. The wings on the other hand was very subpar. The lemon pepper weren’t any good, they lacked seasoning. The garlic Parmesan didn’t really have any flavor as well. The creamed corn was decent, I’d pass next time. The max and cheese was better than I expected. The star of the entire meal was the collard greens. Top 5 in Atlanta for sure. I’ll have to order a pint next time. Overall it was a good meal, I’d opt in for another meat next time. I would recommend visiting for those who want a quieter ambiance.

Drove 40 minutes one way because some spoke so highly of this place. The ribs were just okay. The chicken wings were overcooked which meant they were hard by the time I got back home (another 40 minutes). Sweet potato tots weren't done, the batter wasn't even crispy. The $5 house salad was wilted greens, cucumber and a teaspoon of chopped tomatoes. Will never recommend or return to this place. A very expensive lesson!

Wings were small. Just average. Brisket and pulled pork were good. Service was terrible. We only saw one waitress trying to act as hostess, manage take out orders and wait tables. Two managers were sitting in the restaurant chatting and did nothing to help. Ordered sauce to go and it was such an issue (out of small bottles and apparently unable to think “outside the box”) that we just asked for a refund. Had to ask for everything we needed throughout the meal, and it took forever. Our first visit several years ago was exceptional, so we were disappointed. (Highlands Park location)

Awesome food. The Lady that placed my order was very friendly and attentive. She recommended the cream corn and I am so glad I listened. It was delicious. Don't sleep on this place. I highly recommend!

I got the plate with brisket and pastrami. Food was great for what little there was. Two slices of each and 1 slice of brisket was just fat. Sides were fine but boring. My wife had a burger with bacon, slaw, and pimento. She said it was fine but everything just blended together and she could not note any individual flavors. Prices are way too high for what you get.

Had DBA cater BBQ for 30 and without question, the food and the service (ask for Sam) was exceptional. Matt the owner was great to work with as well. We HIGHLY recommend DBA for a catered event or a casual meal at the restaurant.

I love DBA. The food is always excellent (especially the brisket and ribs), great drinks, and the service is always on point. We go at least once a month because we enjoy it so much. I apologize for not remembering names, but our last visit was on a rainy night close to closing a week or so ago and our server was amazing. She had a great sense of humor and told us not to rush. Please be sure to tip the staff here well, they do a great job and really take care of you. Always a pleasure.

Front desk guy claimed order was picked up by someone else. He showed me the Uber tablet and it confirmed the order was active and had me as a driver. Idk what his problem was?! Clearly he gave it to the wrong person, own up to it. Unprofessional!

We had DBA cater our rehearsal dinner for 60 at the Atlanta History Center and they did a fantastic job. The food was the right temperature, presentation was lovely, and the service staff were great. We considered some other caterers and felt that DBA was a much better bang for the buck. Thank you!

Let me preface this by saying I don't consider myself to be a "bbq person", that said, I LOVE this place! The staff are friendly, the food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere can't be beat -- come on Friday evening to catch Music Bingo! My food recommendation is the DBA burger with the crack (I mean CREAM) corn! Seriously, this stuff is addicting. Great job DBA!

It was another one of those days where I had to have some BBQ. Upon doing some Yelp searching I landed at D. B. A. This location is so cute. Tucked off in the parking lot, it sits in the perfect place for a day of some light city shopping followed by some hood BBQ. Upon walking in, the first thing you notice is the cleanliness of the restaurant. The atmosphere has a neighborhood pub feel with a splash of sports bar. The perfect pairing for when you want to be out but don’t feel like having to be dressed or if you are just in the mood for a quick drink as the bar was fully stocked. There wasn’t anyone at the hosting stand so we ended up standing around as no one seemed to notice us, however, upon asking the pickup area if there was a host they were able to find someone to assist us in being seated. We decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful evening. The outside area is just as clean as the inside and still has the neighborhood pub aesthetic. Upon being seated we were greeted by Josh with his pleasant smile and upbeat welcome. As this was my first time here, I asked Josh for some recommendations and he proved to be a foodie who knew the menu perfectly. One thing I love about the D. B. A. menu is that they offer combos. I have found that most of the locations I have been to recently only offered a la carte, which isn’t my favorite when trying somewhere new. In any case, I decided to try a combo as I wanted to taste everything. LoL. I ended up with Wings, Ribs, and Pulled Pork. Oh. My. Gosh! Let’s talk about flavors. To my taste buds' pleasure, the meat was seasoned and seasoned well. This was huge for me as it proved that they don’t rely on the sauce to produce the flavor. Everything had a perfect blend of true bbq flavor with a taste enhancing balance of smoky flavor and tenderness. This meat was good all by itself. However, you know I had to try EVERY single sauce that was on the table. LoL! As I dabbled in them all, I fell in love with the Carolina sauce. (You can thank me later) Overall, this was truly a great food focused experience. I am absolutely coming back and I recommend you stop by if you’re in the mood for some good BBQ. P. S. If you decide to eat-in, make sure to ask if Josh is working. His service is amazing and he truly understands the fundamentals of providing great service.

Good meats, great sauce, and absolutely great wings! Price is fair and services quick. They could use some improvement on the beer selection and maybe some of the meat choices but overall this is a great place!

DBA catered our daughter’s outdoor wedding and did an outstanding job! The food was delicious with the perfect variety and best brisket ever - loved by all. Thank you, Matt and Gabriela - you are pros!

I very much judge any BBQ place on its sides. I’m not even a fan of baked beans, and the baked beans here were stellar. You have to them! The collard greens were noteworthy, as well. Loved the boiled peanuts appetizer (so southern) and sliced brisket had great flavor. Just a star off because we had to flag down our server multiple times for water refills, check, etc… but I’d absolutely return!

There was a problem where my to-go order which I paid for did not make it to the kitchen. The host and manager corrected the issue immediately, offered me a seat, checked in on me multiple times, and made sure that my order was prepared to perfection. This is the kind of establishment I want to support. My only qualm is that the dining room is very loud ( a lot of happy diners, music playing, and music bingo happening). Big kudos for excellent customer service.

  • 5/5 Patrick T. 2 years ago on Google
My two experiences at DBA have been exceptional. The manager is walking around talking to and checking on clients. The service was friendly and more than timely considering how busy they were. Most importantly, the food is out of this world. The smoked wings are so good that you can't go wrong with any flavor. My personal favorites are the lemon pepper. They are easily the best wings I have ever had in my life and I'm not usually a dry rub person. The staff are more than happy to split flavors so you could order a 12 or 24 for appetizers for the table with a few flavors before getting a meal. The Reuben was also the best I've had to date. None of the flavors overwhelmed the others and the pastrami melts in your mouth. Overall, if you live anywhere within an hour drive (or more if you value good food) then this is a place you do not want to miss. I plan to come back probably weekly with new people to show them what food can really be like when it is prepared by people who are clearly passionate about what they do.

Excellent food! Ribs, pulled pork sandwich, even the shredded chicken nachos were perfect. The ribs were cooked perfectly. Drink selection from cocktails to beers- top notch. The service was amazing and fast! Definitely a must-try!! We weren't there for the evening/night atmosphere, but it looks like there is a trivia night and bar vibe.

Ordered DBA BBQ for a father's day dinner. Listen, the food was amazing. We had the brisket which was so juicy and tasty, the pulled chicken and smoked lemon pepper wings, we also ordered the collards, mac n cheese and bbq creamed corn. I highly recommend this restaurant. The quality of food is awesome and the owner was amazing with walking me through with how to order online for the right portions. This is now my new favorite place.
