Okay, I'm usually not the type of person to write reviews however what I saw left me feeling terribly ashamed and upset at the events that unfolded that night. I'll start off by saying the food was amazing and the service to me was great. However, what compelled me to leave a review for this restaurant was how this establishment treated a young couple (of colour ) dining at this restaurant. To paint a picture, a young couple of colour walked into the restaurant, I noticed that none waiters attended this couple, which felt abit strange considering during my dining experience I noticed everyone was being welcomed with opening arms. I noticed it took the waiters to attend this couple far longer than anyone else. The restaurant was packed, and this couple were the only people of colour at this restaurant. The couple seemed to have been waiting for a prolonged period of time to receive their order, in fact I noticed other groups that arrived later receiving their food before the couple. As I sat listening to the live music I noticed the couple had finish their meal and walked towards the counter, that's when I saw the owner and manager following them almost to ensure that this couple would pay.. as if they thought they would leave without paying. I cannot believe this kind of subtle racism still exists and I am shocked to have see this happen in Auckland. I will not be returning to this restaurant!

We had a booking for 8.30pm, confirmed via several emails. When we arrived we were told we had to have the abbreviated menu due to the lateness of our arrival/booking. We were maybe 5 - 10min late, but had tried calling ahead to notify the restaurant we could be a bit late. No one answered the phone - I tried twice and sent a text as guided to by the answer phone message- still no response from the text. The hour's are promoted 4pm to late yet the menu had to be changed due to the time - why was this not communicated when I made our booking??? The service was appalling. The body language of the front of house staff/ waiters - eyes rolling when we asked to place our orders we had to ask for our drink orders to be taken as well as our food. What was on the menu turned out was not all available but this was not relayed to us until our order was placed and the reluctant staff had to come back and advise us. While we're still eating the staff are packing up the remaining tables - loudly. No consideration for the customers. Some of our meals were only just warm yet the plates were extremely hot, possibly from sitting under a grill. I am sorry we choose to dine here and will not be recommending this restaurant. The owner/ manager appeared to be having a great time dancing, enjoying her evening wine. Rather than checking in on her staff and customers.

Nice and warm, I enjoyed handmade ravioli which sauce made from porcini and Botticelli pizza. Very good

I had a really bad experience. Not just that the steak I got was unsalted and medium term (I asked for rare), flavourless veggies and that was about 45nzd they took hour and half to bring me my food and the restaurant was almost empty. The waitress was taking photos to the band and checking her phone instead of bringing us water or our entrees. I wanted to leave and they insisted my food was ready (which wasn’t true). Anyways, a waste of time and money tbh. Don’t come here there’s many god Italian authentic restaurants in city. Peace out. ✌🏻

Horrible experience at this restaurant. We went to Botticelli on a busy night when we were told to take a seat at the bar if there’s any space. We took a seat and ordered within the first 5 minutes of arriving. Half an hour later a family arrives and are seated next to us and two other people also take a seat in the bar area. We waited an hour for our order only to realise that two groups of people who arrived well after us received their meals before us - and the fact that they ordered some of the same meals we did plus more!!! Not only that, but they were offered a snack as soon as they ordered as an “apology” for the wait times and were also provided with updates on order times without asking. We felt very unwelcomed and uncomfortable at this restaurant. We were so close to leaving at that point but decided to give them 5 more minutes after asking for an update. When asked for an update on our order, the staff and manager both went on and on about how busy they are but this does not justify their lack of service - if they were so busy, they wouldn’t have served the newer customers before us. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be visiting here again. This genuinely ruined our mood for the night and felt like a waste of time and money for the service we received.

Food and service was good until we went to pay tried to tell us it was easier for her if we paid altogether which is not always possible if you are in big group then overcharged us by a large amount,then asked Us to leave while still having a drink to accommodate other people, I've never been asked to leave a restaurant wouldn't recommend,

Our table was given to other person on arrival. We were seated in the bar area and waited for over 15 mins to get service after finding someone to take our order. We were moved into the main area and then ordered our mains, 1 main and 1 drink were not processed. Lucky we realized early as the drink didn't arrive. The main was then ordered. The service was poor, food was OK. However I did expect better service and food. Water was only put on the table midway through eating our mains. Disappointed. Nice atmosphere and decor, however the service and food let it down. Wouldn't recommend.

This restaurant used to be our favorite. Well no any more we got reservations 4 nights prior my son's birthday. We arrived to no table as they had a mistake. They did give us a table inside after about half an hour. Food was disappointing to few of us the rest had fun.

The place it's really nice! The owner served us and she was really kind. The pizza was yummy and the tiramisù also well served. From an Italian: Approved! 👍 The wine also, Montepulciano reserva it's really good. Chck for live music, that night was really nice. Also I liked the environment, quite dark but not to much, it's my favourite.

Party of 6 adults and 2 children enjoyed a delicious range of pasta dishes. Exceptional value for money with beautiful flavours. The dessert menu was varied, well priced and again very tasty. Meals were well presented, staff friendly. Thanks for a great night out.

Ordered and waiting for an hour, people seated in the tables next to us arrived 30mins after and were offered snacks and got constant updates. They received their food before ours and so did another table. When asked about our food, we were told they are very busy. Fair enough they were busy but the other two tables who came after us and ordered same dishes received theirs before us? We waited another 30mins before receiving our plates. Long story short, waited one hour 30mins before receiving our food and others that later arrived had their meals within 30mins. Good was great Service was awful.

“THE WORST ITALIAN PLACE OUT OF ALL THE ITALIAN RESTAURANTS IN NEW ZEALAND , A TYPICAL MOOD SPOILER’’ The pregnant lady on the reception is extremely rude, may be she needs more customer service training. I mean we can expect a little politeness with such a good restaurant. Long wait time for drinks, probably you’ll need to remind them you have ordered some drinks. Food is okay but the customer service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in any of Italian restaurants.

Great food and service excellent, we arrived with no booking and we still get accommodated as normal. Best pizza ever.

Offering a range of traditional Italian options, Botticelli feels like a restaurant straight out of Italy. Both a bar and a restaurant, they offer a great range of in-house pizzas and pastas. I had ordered their popular fettuccine con capesante e salmone which was balanced in taste overall but the presentation was unfortunately poor, furthermore only a small amount of salmon was present in the dish. There was more watery sauce to weight and I suspect as if the scallops were frozen as they did not taste fresh. Their handmade fettuccine noodles were great nonetheless and staff were very kind. I'd say it is quite expensive for what they offer.

We came here for the first time tonight for our anniversary and it was just ok. We walked in and there were no staff in sight and we weren’t sure where to go or who to ask about our reservation. Once seated it took quite a long time for our order to be taken, the ambiance was lovely though as we waited until a huge family came in and was seated about 30cm away from us where we couldn’t hear each other talk. Super disappointing. Our dinner came out and the pasta itself was beautiful, probably the best pasta I’ve ever had. However the actual dish was quite watery and bland (chicken fettuccine) and my partners said his could’ve done with more flavour too. A bit disappointing when it’s quite an expensive place. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Lady in charge (maybe the owner) was rude and dismissive. Despite booking ahead, the restaurant was disorganised and chaotic and we were left sitting at the bar because she gave our table away. We had to ask to order drinks and again to order food. Staff did their best to compensate and were pleasant. Overall, a very overpriced restaurant for such an underwhelming experience.

So happy with our experience here, very delicious and variety of food.. wine service and the atmosphere is the most! Super smooth live music during evenings. We will back 🫶🏽

Went for dinner last night and had the snapper. The portion was of good size, the sauce well balanced and the fish fresh. The vegetables alongside were also, whilst simply presented, fresh and perfectly cooked. Very enjoyable.

Food was really nice, a real trattoria type experience. Noisy and homey but in a good way. Family friendly - kids meals available along with fancy stuff. Puttanesca was excellent and flavorful

Very enjoyable all the meals ,drinks and friendly team with live music,super great experience in the small restaurant, highly recommended to all.

This was the 2nd time I tried this restaurant and definitely the last. First time around I ordered vegetarian risotto and after waiting 35 mins, they've brought me chicken risotto. Second time around, I ordered Tiramisu for desert and they brought me what you can see in the photo. Lots of icecream and a smashed texture. They said it got smashed cause it was too soft when they cut the slice. Then don't serve it if you respect yourself! Especially since my friend got a normal square slice. It barely had ladyfingers nor coffee, felt only the icecream taste. Both times they were not apologetic, nor did they offer anything in return. I feel cheated and disappointed.

Was a splendid date. They catered so my meal was exactly what I wanted and tasted amazing!

The night we went there was a lovely jazzy band playing next to the bar but it meant all the other tables and chairs were crammed really close. Good food as per photos. Personally I like my pizzas with more chunky toppings but these tasted great and the pizza base was just as I like it

Incredible place. Delicious food, lovely friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend and I'll be going back for sure.

Mmmm… service was touch and go the lady would forget we asked for water then when we called her back she took a knife with her because I don’t know why so we were missing a knife, the garlic bread was very average as it tasted like oil soaked bread and so did the margarita pizza… one server was very good probably about 22 years old dark hair, very quick on her feet, knew what she was doing and remembered our order, and she helped us when the older lady left… the Filet Mignon was probably what took this up from 2 stars to 3… other than that maybe it will be better if we returned on a not so busy night

We had a delicious meal and the helpful staff and manageress were helpful with decision making and service. A lovely experience. We’re already planning our next lovely dinner out. Thank You

Had a fabulous Thursday night here. Delicious seafood pasta with a great bottle of Italian red. Wonderful jazz band and singer through out the night, with some guests slotting in piano, clarinet and vocals. Staff welcoming and great service. Highly recommend.

I and my family have eaten here several times. We always enjoy the food and excellent service. You can find food similar to this for less money but it won't taste as good or have the same friendly atmosphere.

Delicious pasta! Such good vibes & music! The best customer service i’ve received in a long time. We had a surprise birthday there and the waiting staff accommodated our every need! Really making our family feel cared for! 10/10 everything was on point, so glad I chose to come here for the first time! Thanks again to your team :)

Great Italian family style dinning. Food are tasty and well portioned.

Busy Italian Bistro with friendly atmosphere and good food priced correctly. Pizza was well topped with sauce to the edge and my calamari were well cooked and tender. Wine by the glass was reasonably priced and enough choices offered. Good coffee. Down side though is the parking which was difficult to find in such a busy spot but still worth the effort to get to Botticelli..Bookings are probably advisable.

Myself and my partner attended this restaurant having enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service previously. We were excited that lockdown was ending and couldn’t wait to return to our favourite restaurant. Unfortunately upon returning the picture was very different. The customer service seemed to have gone down the potty, when we entered the restaurant we were looked at like lepers for some time before anyone came to speak to us. Throughout the experience we had to really make an effort to get any attention for any sort of attention to order. The waiting staff felt very inexperienced and uninterested, when asked for a wine recommendation they joked that they had no clue what they were doing and my partner would have to decide for themselves. About 30 minutes later my partner was brought the wrong dish. When we politely bought it up, the manager (I think), glared at us, initially disagreed, and then begrudgingly took my partners food to bring her the correct meal, with no apology of any kind. Another 30 minutes later my food was cold and my partners food finally arrived. The food it’s self also seemed to have taken a turn for the worse, the portions were much smaller and the egg in my carbonara seemed almost scrambled. I know this might sound picky but I’m honestly shocked that there aren’t more negative reviews recently. Perhaps this was a one off event? Either way Botticelli has lost our patronage and I will not be recommending the restaurant to anyone speak to. I understand that it can be difficult to run a restaurant, especially after god knows how much lock down. But when I’m paying in the ballpark of 30$ a dish, I expect better service than McDonalds.

They made a small mistake on the order but they totally accepted it and offered us free drinks. Lovely people and place with a great atmosphere.

For me to drive to the North Shore the restaurant has to be good, I have been before and throughly enjoyed it. It’s got great ambiance and very suitable for a date night, friends gathering or a special occasion. Loved the menu choice, the staff were super friendly and it’s difficult for them wearing masks and pleasing everyone. We felt secure had to show our COVID passes, prices medium, portions generous. Lovely Italian food in the middle of Takapuna well worth the 40 minute drive, if you are local or a visitor to Auckland give it a go you will not be disappointed. Thanks for a lovely evening
