Average experience with Kiwi Experience during my 2 weeks backpacing trip in New Zealand. I bought the Queen Bee pass which was suppose to be a flexibile Hop-On Hop-Off service. However, it is far from a flexiible service, because once a person goes from one place to another, one is either able to stay there for 3 whole days or only 1 night. This is by any means not a flexible hop-on hop-off service. The buses do not run on a daily basis between to and from each destination. For example, one cannot arrive at a place, stay for 1 night and then leave the enxt day to the next place in the afternoon/evening or stay for another night as 1 wishes, beacuse the buses are only every 3 days or immediately the next day in the morning. Imagine, one arrives in Kaikoura (a place where one goes to see whales and dolphins) but does not have time to see them, because we arrive late in the afternoon (by which time, all the experiences are finished) and then leave exactly again early in the morning. Whats the point of going to Kaikoura if one does not have time for any sea life experiences? If one decides, not to take a bus from the tour because he wishes to stay longer, one cannot get a refund. I highly recommend having a look at Intercity before booking kiwi Experience. The bus drivers of Kiwi are very friendly, however the buses are old so they do not have a toilet on them, no WIFI connection and no charging ports or electricity sockets with the seats. Till next time New Zealand! Kia ora.

Awesome experience with the Kiwi crew ! The people at the kiwi experience office were lovely and very patient with me as i asked so many questions and helped me book my whole trip! Then I had the best time on the road, meeting people from all over the world, exploring beautiful places across New Zealand. I had different drivers but my favorite ones were Cowboy and Stretch, both different but so cool and very helpful ! Couldn't recommend it more !

Best experience ever! First I was worried if there would be too many very young people. But it’s a perfect mix of younger (18+) and older (up to 33) travelers. You see many nice spots in NZ, meet many travelers, party together (if you are up to) and simply have a great time. Many thanks to Tane, Chris and Q, our very friendly and helpful bus drivers and travel guides!

I'm already 3 months in New Zealand for both travelling and working, and I can tell you my week with Kiwi Experience was one of my best week in this lovely country. Why? Well, there are several reasons: Kiwi experience was convenient because if you want they arrange pretty much everything for you: your accommodation and activities, both paid and free one's. I'm also pretty sure that I would have missed out some great activities in NZ if I wouldn't have travelled with Kiwi experience. I did almost all of the activities, which made these days quite intense. But that's the way I like it. It's not every day you are in one of the most beautiful countries in the world Γ¨h ;) The number one reason why I liked travelling with Kiwi Experience so much is probably because of the nice group we were travelling with. There were many like-minded people who were here for the same reason, having fun with an international bunch of people and enjoy NZ to the fullest every single day! You know, I hitchhiked a lot in NZ before I did this trip and I've met many people then but it was mostly for a short period, because you don't have the same travel schedule. With Kiwi Experience I could travel every day to another place while I had my new friends still with me. And it's special how quickly you have a bond with people from all around the world when you experience so many things together, although you didn't know them before! So if you don't have plenty of time but you wanna see most of it and in the meantime being part of a nice group of like-minded international people... I recommend you to go on Kiwi Experience.

I did the South Island 10 day tour with Tim. The man is a legend. Originally from Christchurch he knows everything one can possibly know about NZ and the South Island, he's also a 110% safe driver and honestly the best tour guide I've ever had, definitely a Rockstar. The tour is so well organized and enjoyable that it's not possible not having a great time, and such good value for all that it includes. I highly recommend paying extra for the activity of swimming with the Dusky Dolphins in Kaikoura. That was definitely one of the best days of my life, no doubt about it. Just dont forget to take a GoPro cammera. Thanks for everything guys! Looking forward to having the chance to do the North Island Tour. Cheers! Norbert

Kiwi Experience was a great way to travel around New Zealand. They make it extremely easy to travel flexibly. Literally all you need to do is book the bus ticket, and the rest is taken care of during the trip. The bus drivers were fun, helpful, and made a point to get to know everybody on the tour. Highly recommended!

The Kiwi Experience made our trip one too never forget! Me and my girlfriend started and ended our trip with Kiwi in Christchurch. We booked the Kea pass and only did the southern island in two weeks.. It was way too short! So we advice everyone too travel at least a month with the Kiwi bus! But even in this short amount of time we've seen more than we could imagine on forehand. During the trip we had some great drivers who knew more about the island than Google! The places they showed us and the stories they told were incredible. The most amazing thing about our trip with the Kiwi Experience are the friends we made! It's not even a week ago that we saw them for the last time but we miss them already. We truly hope that anyone will do this trip and experience it the same way we do, and actually like everybody does!

Used their small group tour offering - pretty good and smaller bus gets to use routes not used by the coach

I did the South Island 7 day small groups tour... and WOW!!! Coming from the tourism industry and having been living in NZ for over a year already, my expectations for the trip were extremely high, but boy Kiwi Ex did not disappoint! If anything they blew me (and our whole bus) away! Our guide (Tim) was friendly, approachable, knowledgable and tons of fun. He had awesome recommendations for local hidden gems in every place we visited, gave us the freedom to choose our activities while always giving us multiple options, and turned a bunch of people from completely different backgrounds into amazing friends. I honestly couldn't recommend Kiwi Experience or this tour enough. There is literally something for everyone and you will make memories that you will cherish for years to come...

The reservation team made my bookings quite an easy and seamless experience especially for my first time travelling. Also, the bus drivers were really helpful with my tour especially when I had forgotten a piece of luggage. I’d definitely rate the Kiwi Experience service as top notch! and would refer it to my family and friends. I look forward to travelling with Kiwi Experience again 🀘🏽

One of the most amazing trips I’ve ever done! Had Simon as our bus driver from start to finish and he was honestly the best driver anyone could have! He always kept us entertained, was easy to have a laugh with and had wicked stories to tell. Loved his sense of humour and he was always a great help when you needed it. Will miss him so much as he made this experience for me one of the most memorable, never thought I got to see and do so much in just 24 days. Thanks Kiwi experience and Simon for everything!

I had the BEST time with kiwi experience!! I did it with my boyfriend and we met so many groups of people and made lovely friends! We enjoyed every minute, loved every one of our stops! Our driver the whole trip was Lightning! He is AMAZING! So knowledgeable, took us to all the best spots, very friendly, funny, kind (always made sure we were happy and took care of any issues we had!) Couldn’t have asked for a batter tour guide/driver. THANK YOU LIGHTNING! X
