After hearing what happened to one of the performing artists on Friday it's hard to see the hospitality at your venue. You expect us to believe you run "a highly skilled, professional events team" when that is obviously not true. One of the doormen on the night, NEEDS to learn how to do his job. If he wants to be aggressive and power trip over the guests, a prison would be more suited to the way he acted that night. It's not hard to stand at a door for $30/h and be NICE to people, it really isn't. For management: When hiring security, and dealing with guests, respect should not be conditional but compulsory. This matter needs to be spoken about and an apology needs to be addressed.

I honestly don't know how its even LEGAL!!! that this venue allows so many people... Went to the Kanine gig and it was beyond over crowded - people were getting crushed on every single level!! There was zero air conditioning (or likely too many people for the aircon to even make an impact), the bar ran out of Vodka, the staff didn't even look happy to be there or to serve you. If this venue just sold less tickets - that would have been an incredible gig... this is the second time I've been there... its the same thing every time... Just sad to see such incredible artists have their gigs here!

Full crowd, was so hot no air con. People were looked like they were about to pass out. Ruined the night as that's you could think about. Had to leave half way through because of how hot it was

The Venue is over a 100 years old and as iconic as ever! 3 levels , 6 bars and a million worth in production! Management and bar staff are always up for a yarn when it comes to where improvements can be made

Favourite venue in Auckland, there are 5 bars over 3 levels so lots of room to move around and see the stage. Management are diligent and staff are committed to providing great service. Always a wide variety of shows going on, something for everyone :)

Great live music venue, great sound and a few different areas to relax when not on the main dance floor area. Plenty of bars and enough toilets.

Good venue with awesome sound and clean toilets. Nice stage height. The parking in K Road generally expensive but I agree with the reply that the venue should not be responsible for that. We had an awesome time at Studio The Venue and it was clear everyone else also had a ball

My experience has always been hit and miss in regards to a range of things. - Staff have been both helpful and very rude but on my recent visit I noticed there seems to be new staff who seemed okay. - I've had experiences where it feels oversold so you end up down the back by the other bar where you can't really see. - Sound is hit and miss but was good on my last visit. Yeah I just feel I always prepare myself for it to go either way.

Line up of artists were awesome why I given a 1 star. But very disorganised and bar staff needs to have some culture in this place which obviously it lacks!!!!! Barstaff shouldn't pick and choose their customers who they like to serve, we are all paying customers for this business during our visit. Customer service should be served at It's best to everyone without discrimination ๐Ÿ‘Œ Please barstaff don't rip off people early in the night with your made up drink prices on the spot and security needs to learn how to chill. It's a bag check not interrogation like we visiting your house. We showed our bag but didn't realise you needed to know our contents. What's up with that? I was warned about this place from family who encountered poor experiences here, and now realised its true. Disgusting behaviour to expect from here!!!

Great venue, could do with better ventilation? As them dusty fans are no good. I did see 1 or 2 people slip from a standing position...not sure if that's the venues problem or the people's shoe choice....best bouncers on k'rd-especially the big baby fellow with the cheese cutter.

This is very difficult review to do. I enjoyed the music of Spoegwolf and Herman Kleinhans, but felt there were too many people at the venue. We could only listen but not see, what a pity :(

Just saw Northlane and they almost blew the ROOF off the place! Amazing staff, great security, and the most important thing, whoever put the air conditioning in give yourself A MASSIVE PAT ON THE BACK because I did not overheat once! Mind you, I'm a old man now and can't. mosh like I used to....

Great venue, reasonably priced drinks and friendly staff.

  • 2/5 Jessica D. 8 months ago on Google
No seating. Floor and walls were dirty and sticky. Sound was inaudible. Prices for drink were expensive and the choice was limited. No bouncers upstairs and steps everywhere with barely any seating upstairs. Don't have a clue why they have the green room. Really disappointed the people I came to see were not clear over the speakers and could have done with an update. No clear posters for upcoming acts either. Waited an hour to get in and late to open. I had gum thrown out.

Waste of money just RIP off time , sunny Leone was just a guest for hardly 45 min on stage doing nothing but making dance moves behind DJ table and dozen of people standing on stage including DJ, photographers don't no who else over crowded on stage dont know what they were doing on stage. Ad for this special day projected as sunny NZ tour and entry tickets selling for 45-50 $ for? Not worthy.

I been there for an DJ Hernรกn Cattaneo. The space was okey not over selling. AACC and fan working mostly the time, thats amazing. Not queue for toilet and drinks. Good location. Don't take your gums whit u , they froug out on the door ( something about the floor) . It was a Special party, so IDK how the mรบsic it's in a normal day.

I went here last Tuesday to see Kiana Ledรฉ, and it was amazing! The stage lights, the smoky atmosphere, the singing-- top notch. ๐Ÿ‘Œ The music was a bit loud for my liking (I was standing at the very front centre-right from the stage) that I couldn't hear the artists real vocals properly. They sounded shrill. However, was easily fixed by covering one ear. The staff were nice, and they handed out free water bottles to the crowd. They also had the fan on, which was great.

Studio is a awesome venue! With 3 floors and a bar at each it is an awesome and unique venue where you always have a good view of the artists playing and can get up close and personal too. However getting up close or even just being on the bottom floor when the venue is sold out is hard and you are often pretty packed in and can be quite uncomfortable.. However there is always space to the upper floors to get away from the heavy crowds.

They've obviously changed partners with who does their audio and visual, as it's mediocre at best. Last gig I went to the vocals were non-existent, but everything else was okay. I wish they hadn't skipped on paying for good audio setups.

Intimate and small venue. Audio was great. Visuals were stunning. Drinks are expensive but hey there is a dairy nearby. EDIT: Context for the owner who replied, I payed 14.00 for 2 red bulls (no alcohol, just regular red bulls) Let me know if that was a mistake.
