I love this place! A small but lovely restaurant, great service and the food is amazing. Maybe a little up there in price, but boy do you get your money's worth - the portions are plentiful and always service with a smile, plus by eating here you're supporting a wonderful local business. The Mediterranean chicken is a must try, and the Tiramisu is off the hook! Honestly, everything is great - just delicious food and all around great vibes :)

MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN & MIXED GRILL - Recommended dishes. The Mediterranean chicken was realllly tender, hearty with the cream sauce and fulling with the rice-like grain that came with it. Served with a beautiful salad. The mixed grill had deliciously grilled lamb and chicken. Very filling portions. The server was AMAZING and was the reason why the higher price point was justified. For three people, two main dishes and one smaller dish made us feel full. Will be back again!

Always the most delicious food by Sam. Even the hummus is on another level - everything is made so well, just the best traditional mediterranean food. Have been here so many times never disappointed.

Sam's Mediterranean Eatery is a hidden gem indeed! The food tastes incredibly fresh and amazing. I love that Sam cooks every item on the menu from scratch, ensuring top-notch quality. For the best experience, I recommend visiting on weekdays as weekends can get busy if you don’t have a reservation. Apple Tea was delicious.

Simple, flavourful and authentic - i’ve not been able to find a Mediterranean restaurant in Auckland that serves this level of quality. Lamb/beef/chicken were packed with flavour and grilled to perfection. Wheat and vegetables were a perfect match. Very pleased with the food and service, thank you.

We ordered Hummus+bread, vegetarian platter and a Falafel Salad. Everything was divine. Hummus was so fresh, homemade bread. Falafel was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Sam’s Mediterranean Eatry!!

A first for my friends and I. A good first impression - good service and my meal was fine but it tasted a bit bland after the first few bites. The sauces kind of helped but the dish was still average and lacked the punch that I was expecting. Maybe less beans and more falafel and hummus would have improved it flavour-wise. Possibly a bit too much for one person as I had no room for dessert so next time I'll order with my brain rather than my stomach. I was disappointed that there was no lamb on the menu as that what I was expecting to see on the menu. Minced meat isn't that impressive. It had been years since I'd had Turkish apple tea and it was quite nostalgic. Location is decent and it's also possible to takeaway. Not a whole lot of seating indoors but there is some seating outdoors. Hope to pop in again soon - it's pretty good venturing out to the Shore!

So glad I found this place, what a gem!! Absolutely delicious food and very generous portions. In the photo are the lentil soup, falafel salad and moussaka. And the Turkish coffee with a Turkish Delight on the side. Amazing. Will definitely eat here again!

This was the best salad I’ve ever had. It had the perfect amount of crunch, chewiness and flavor. I’m not usually one to grab a salad when I get the chance, but this completely changed my mind. Unfortunately I don’t live in Auckland so I will be missing this amazing salad when I go home.

They have great food and the staff is very friendly! Totally would recommend it for someone who wants to try something new. :)

very delicious falafel burger !

Amazing food! Visited today and had the Mediterranean Chicken, which was absolutely amazing! Served with a side salad, it’s so creamy and filling. By the end of it we all were so full but still had to order the baklava, which was also tasty. The owner also offered us tiramisu (which was so soft) to try which he said was popular among his regular customers. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to have something different for a change.

Dishes are large portion and taste so delicious. Clerks are so kind. When we were ordering, they told us that meals are large portion so we better have less if we weren't very hungry. Actually we had left some but they recommend us to take leftovers away. If you want to eat several kinds of vegetables, the Vegetarian Platter is a good choice. Chiken & Mushrooms contains pasta so you must be full.

There is a reason why this place has a high review and it is for a good reason. For us, Mediterranean food can sometimes be a hit and miss, but this is not the case for Sam’s eatery. The foods tasted amazing. The moroccan lunch plate was yum especially the hummus. The mediterranean chicken was nice and creamy, although I wouldn’t order it for myself because it can be a bit too rich and creamy for one person, but it’s perfect if you order it to share. Tiramisu was definitely one of the best in Auckland so far. Place is a bit small. Service was lovely.

Food is a bit pricey but the portions and taste made it worthwhile. All the items we tried were delicious. The chef also took a lot of care in preparing the food so it might take a while for the food to be served but it gave us time to just chat and relax while waiting.

Stumbled on this little eatery while avoiding the rain today. A perfect, strong, coffee was followed by a beautiful vegetarian platter: the falafel and hummus is the best we've had ever!!!. We were so involved in the flavors of the dish, we forgot about the winter weather outside. We cannot compliment the service and food enough. It's going to become our regular, and we live on the Hibiscus Coast.

Blissful place with an excellent food and coffee. Had mixed grill and it came with huge side salad. Coffee is local Millers Coffee and the only downside was that one horrible French speaking arrogant so called customer made a nonsense scene amd threatened the waiting staff to leave a bad review while he consumed NOTHING. Had the leftovers in takeaway box also. Will be back for sure.

The flavours in the Marinated Chicken Salad are amazing! What a beautiful meal!!! I’ll def be back, May organise my upcoming birthday party here. The salad has lentils which I left behind, but next time I’ll ask if they can do a keto version with more cucumber, lettuce and tomato. The acuka& cacik sauces are yum! Friendly attentive service. A new fav!

This place is one of the best in Auckland for authentic Mediterranean food. From salad to dessert, everything we ate was soo yummy and delicious. We ordered stuffed capsicum- Dolma to start off, and then we had mix grill and beef skewers, such tasty dishes. Not to miss out on the lemon tea and smashed Baklava. Yum yum!!!

We love the food so much we went back the next day! You’ve never had chicken fall apart this way-it’s so tender. The service is timely and great. They’re really kind and their patrons are as well. The restaurant sits on a beautiful street full of shops and boutiques. It makes for a great date night out or bonding time with family.

Amazing Mediterranean food large portions and is worth the price! Is in a really good area too! The Mediterranean chicken was rich, creamy and mouthwatering! And the moussaka was pretty good as well! The buckwheat was made to perfection and the side salad was fresh. Friendly service, clean environment. I will definitely be back if I’m in the Takapuna area!

I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to review Sam's but I can honestly say this is the best restaurant that I have eaten at in Auckland. The food is fresh, wholesome and packed with flavour. Sam and his staff are always warm and accommodating. The seafood chowder, mixed grill, chicken and mushroom pasta, halloumi salad, lentil soup, Mediterranean chicken and Mousakka are amongst our favourites. They give a huge amount of hummus when you order the hummus and bread starter. The atmosphere is lovely and inviting. Nothing negative to say. Absolutely love Sam's and will continue eating here and trying out new items on the menu.

The most beautiful, fresh Mediterranean food in Auckland. I absolutely love this place. There is a huge selection of vegan and vegetarian options. The falafel wraps are delicious and the baklava is to die for!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. My favorite restaurant.

The best musaka outside of the Mediterranean. By far the best Mediterranean food in Auckland. The nice food along side the friendly service made our night. Dairy free daughter asked for some changes and they promptly made it to accommodate her restrictions. If you like real Mediterranean food you should visit this place.

Excellent food! They were really busy when we went on Valentines Day but it was an incredible meal. I was very impressed.

Takapuna's best kept secret. Tiptop friendly service. And the tastiest, freshest food I've eaten and I eat out a lot. Each mouthful a delight of subtle complimentary flavours. Try the refreshing apple or lemon tea. Highly recommend the mixed grill. Divine!

The reviews are absolutely right, the food is delightful. On top of that the service was very good; on learning that I couldn't eat cheese the chef inquired whether I had a dairy allergy. Great coffee as well.

I had the chicken skewers and they were amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection and was some of the tastiest I have experienced! The complimentary rice was very tasty and unique and the salad rounded it off perfectly. Generous portions too! Very happy overall. Left with a tiramisu which is the first I’ve had and was also left stunned by the taste! I’ve been to a lot of places for food In Takapuna the last 2 weeks but Sam’s takes the trophy! You’ll see me again.

Delicious, fresh and authentic. This restaurant must be one of, if not the best, value for money in the shore area. I visit here at least once a week with my partner and we always get something different and are never let down. The portions are healthy and the quality is always amazing. My only problem is that I cannot give it more stars. Try for yourself 👍

Amazing Mediterranean food, with a vegan & vegetarian diverse menu. Also traditional menu. Try the omelette, lentil soup & breads. They also serve freshly squeezes juices from the fruit. Will be back for sure!

Best food in Takapuna. We always eat outside but it is hard to find nice food in Takapuna. Only a few places serving nice food consistently. This place is one of them. Highly recommend it.
