👍👍 Was recommended to come here for their wagyu beef pie and coffee. Perfect start to our Saturday. Their management of a one-in-one-out system is great during covid times. Outdoor seating was cozy and tranquil. People often mention coffee, cafe, delicious, good, love, Coffee, people,

Great coffee and amazing food. Lunch is cooked fresh every day and is always different and tasty. The lasagna is great definitely worth a try. Always enjoy my visit to Coffee Pen.

We stumbled onto this quaint little cafe when we were heading to another brunch spot. Such a fortunate change of events because this place is such a gem! The coffee is good but the lasagna is even better. It’s on the sweeter side but I love it. The seating is also on the outdoors. Fancy some refreshing breeze while enjoying your meal, this is the spot. My Sunday has been brightened. Thank you coffee pen.

Come on a rainy day and sit by the window and look out to the tree. Somehow it reminded us of Japan. The chicken pea sandwich was nice but a little bland for me personally. Same as the Wagyu pie. I wouldn't come back for these. The cakes were good. Coffee was also very good.

Very small but very popular local café. Most of the seating is outside so it's only a viable option in good weather. Limited menu but the food is excellent, as is the coffee. And I have to give them a particular mention for their excellent taste in music.

The staff are very friendly, the cafe itself is cute and the food is above average but I’m not sure anything warrants the cult-like love people have for Coffee Pen… but hey, it’s good.

I have been going to coffee pen for a number of years and love the food and coffee. Unfortunately I witnessed an incident at the cafe which means I will never be returning again. I arrived to the cafe and walked passed a group of people sitting outside sharing some cakes amoung the group. While I was waiting in line to order, one of the people from the group came inside to fill up their drink bottle at the water station. The person on the counter stopped them from doing this saying that since they had not ordered food they could not just come inside and take the water. The person on the counter insisted that the customer pay for the water (which to me looked like tap water). They tried to explain that they were part of a group that had ordered food but this was dismissed. They were charged $30 for this and were clearly shaken by the confrontation. I was tempted to leave but instead stayed to order a coffee to take away. I was not able to enjoy the taste of the coffee unfortunately. As a side note, if I were a cafe owner, I would do everything I can to discourage people from using single use plastic items so I think it's great that people can fill their water bottles and I would want to make this widely available. I'm surprised at the rudeness and lack of social/environmental conscience.

I suspected I was in for a treat when I saw a sneakily tucked away corner cafe hidden behind some oak trees, which added to its pleasant ethos of coffee vibes. My hopes dropped somewhat when I saw the price list but proceeded regardless. Golly gee I am glad I did. This is probably the second tastiest, fruitiest culinary experience I have experienced in New Zealand based purely on coffee. Complemented perfectly by the smooth jazz and fresh spring leaves of the climbing rata vine out front. My day was instantly better and then also somewhat worse because I know the peak of my day has already been. If only I could drink 15 coffees a day and not have a heart attack.

DELICIOUS flat whites at coffee pen. The food is also very delicious and love that they always have different menus on each week, which makes it even more appealing. Located in a hidden spot which is great for a sunny day. Staff are super friendly and seem to have heaps of regular customers. Highly recommend this place!

Such a lovely hidden little cafe! Everytime is a different experience that doesn't disappoint. This time we had a prawn sando, perfectly cooked and surprisingly light for something deep fried. Their reuben is also deliciously done - and would be a solid challenger to the fed classic. We finished off with a wee Caneles de Bordeaux. Not too sweet, just perfect. ❤️

Good coffee ! Food was pretty tasty (rustic homemade vibes). Small place so can be hard to find a table, best is to do takeaways.

An unexpected surprise. I didn't expect the coffee to be particularly delicious. The taste is delicate. Coffee is mellow and flavoured. Tiramisu cake is so delicious. The staff is very enthusiastic.

The “pulled pork & apple slaw burrito” is a must try, couldn’t resist trying out the other 100% homemade food on the menu.. with a flat white total $21

Great coffee and love their foods! Lasagne is so cheesy and not salty. Coffee pen will be one of our weekend routine :)

Everything is just so good here and how they do things is a refreshing change to the sameness you get in many cafes in Auckland. Its hip but friendly and unpretentious. High quality coffee and delicious food. Not a lot of seating with most of it outside so count yourself fortunate if you manage to get a table - very fortunate.

Today its our first time went here for our coffee and small bites. The coffee are delicious, I got mocha & my partner love his americano. We also trued their dessert & food, I choose basque cheese cake which is my fav and their cheese cake is yum even little bit too sweet for my taste. Their spinach something (not sure whats the name since my partner was the one who order it 😂) also delicious! The service also lovely & friendly! I really love the ambience there, its nice hidden coffee gems in the city.. Will def come back to explore more whats on their menu tho! 💖

This is the best coffee shop I have come across in Auckland. Every time I come here it is consistently very good and the staff are friendly. I have worked as a barista for many years so am quite particular with my coffee! I haven't tried the food yet but the cabinet always looks delicious.

Just had the banoffee pie and shh was brazy. Opted for vege mac and cheese this time (since the lasagne is god tier) and it was next level. Coffee slaps as always. CP does not miss!
