Absolute horrible place. This place is a total nightmare. I was called to come back because the gp had to talk about the ultrasound results. It was kinda briefed to me what the issue was. Took bloody 7 hours to get a doctor. Every time I asked them how long it would take they'd say 1 hour. If you'll had said the wait is 6 hours I would have been happy to come back later in the day for the doctor. Just wasted my time from 8pm till 3 am. I only ended up waiting because I dint want to come back to wait here EVER again. My appointment was done and duster in a couple of minutes. They kept sending others in but dint bother getting me to a doctor. A shame in the name of urgent care.

-5 stars if possible. Receptionist, Alisi (unsure of spelling) - rude, dismissive, clearly doesn't care for people (or her job). Dr Lily Shue - the worst GP I've ever come across; also rude, dismissive and so uncaring. I presented to the emergency with trouble breathing. After expressing this to the receptionist she proceeded to ask me questions (for form filling). I told her I could barely breath let alone answer her questions. She did not care. Dr Lily Shue, I just don't even know where to start with her... she didn't even come into the room for the consult. She stood at the door, mumbled something and walked away. Shocked, I had to walk after her and ask her to repeat herself. Again, she mumbled and walked away. Shocked (tired as it was 3am) and outraged I insisted she at the very least sit down when consulting with me. I had to press her for info (what is causing this? what can I do? how long will it last? etc). She didn't care, plain and simple. Furthermore, when I requested a medical note she stated it wasn't needed. I had to ask her three more times before she finally gave it to me. Unfortunately, this is one of the only after hours emergency services in the area but I will never go there again (I recommend the hospital over this place).

I would have been better off taking my little sister to hospital. She has asthma and was struggling with breathing and she was triaged and told there were 4 people ahead of us to see the doctor at 8.15pm. I reiterated to the receptionist that her breathing was worsening at 11.10pm and then again at 12am. We were eventually seen at 2.15am by the doctor. We were the last people seen of our cohort with at least 9 people seen before us- even other patients who came after us apologised for being seen earlier, even tho it very obviously wasn’t their fault. By the time we were seen, my sister’s breathing was incredibly wheezy, the ventolin she was given made very little difference (we told both the doctor and the nurse she had been using her ventolin inhaler to no success) & ran to the bathroom for 2minutes to have a coughing fit. The doctor was adamant he would see her after the next patient while she was finishing up in the bathroom. I had to insist she would be seen now (she was out about 20 seconds later anyway). We have a lot more information about the experience and have sought the advice of other doctors to file an HDC complaint. If you are seeking urgent care, or suffer from breathing problems, we would recommend going anywhere else, the hospital would probably even provide faster service. I never write reviews, but I was astounded by the service we received and the ‘care’ we received by Dr Schneibel. I feel for any healthcare worker who is under a huge amount of stress at the moment, but by all accounts, this treatment was beyond the pail.

The worst emergency care clinic ever. Took 3 hours just to be able to see a doctor, and the fees are ridiculous for the amount of waiting. Only come to this clinic when the hospital is down which is never. I would put minus 5 stars if I could

Terrible service. Nurses were nice but waited 2 hours just to get antibiotics. The receptionist was rude and unfriendly. It’s not “emergency care” if you have to wait 2.5 hours in pain. Definitely was not worth my time, made a mistake coming here today.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service my wife received at White Cross Ascot 24/7 on Sunday, August 6, 2023. I arrived at the clinic at 01:00 PM with a severe tonsils pain. I was triaged after 03 hours wait and told that I would be seen by a doctor shortly. However, I ended up waiting for over 6 hours to see a doctor. In that time, I saw several patients who came after me be seen and released. The staff at the clinic were careless and not empathetic . They were dismissive of my concerns and made me feel like I was wasting their time. When I asked why I was waiting so long, they gave me vague answers and told me just to wait. I was eventually seen by a doctor at 07:00 PM. I am very disappointed with the service I received at White Cross Ascot 24/7. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

The receptionist should be awarded the “worst receptionist” of the year. Absolutely shocking attitude towards patients. Seems like they are the prison officers talking to criminals! What a power trip. Show some respect to fellow humans. And read all these reviews. Maybe next time add the “names” of receptionist and do name and shame from now on.

Completely upset and disappointed. Have shortness of breath the whole day . It got worse at night. Despite a long waiting, the doctor Lily Shue saw me as I was wasting her time. She told me to breathe better in other words, and let me go home with the bill of $120 and No treatment whatsoever. Currently feeling the same way and waiting to see a gp.

I took my husband to A&E on Friday, 11 November 2022. He fainted at a function and we called the ambulance. 1hour later and the ambulance did not arrive. We drove him to A&E, Ascot, greenlane. It took 2hrs to see a nurse. Then another 2hrs to see a doctor. Dr Lily Shue wasn't helpful, she even missed the ECG that was done earlier. I wish i had pushed for blood tests but you would expect that from a doctor to request. She said he had a viral infection without even taking any blood tests. It definitely isn't a viral infection. 3days later and my husband is still getting headaches. Today we going to our GP. The health system in New Zealand is very disappointing. You would expect so much more for a 1st World country. Good luck to whoever tries to get an ambulance or goes to A&E on the weekend. I hope that this gets addressed, there has been many complaints about Doctor Shue and she is still not thorough.

I took my 18 month son who had high fever. Even though the nurse or any staff would not put any urgency on it. Why call it "urgent care".We waited more than 5 hours with a baby who had high fever. Hopeless service. Worst in nz. The indian receptionist was very rude and busy gossiping with her colleagues... either upgrade your staff or add more doctors. The whole team needs a change over.

If you really have an emergency please still consider other options. Long wait with my 3 years old child and then doctor wasn't really friendly. We were just another patient to get rid for the. . I'll definitely think twice before going there for any medical issue

Absolutely pathetic treatment. The staff are horrendous and have no empathy. It took over 6 hours to see a doctor while I was in so much pain from dislocation of my knee. When I finally got to see the doctor, he was so bloody impatient and literally dislocated my patella again!!! And then he kept laughing and apologizing for it. Literally laughing out loud !! Everything about this place is terrible!!! Don't go here !!!!!

They should remove the words "urgent care" in the title as you have to wait for ages every single time. Also not sure why we came before at least 10 people but was called last. Doctor was not helpful, was not even able to identify what problem my mum got but just gave her some antibiotic pills after I we wait for 3 hours. Wasted my $250.

1 Star and that is being generous. Prepare to wait….nothing happens fast here. After waiting 4 hours we’re told to go to Auckland Hospital. Absolutely shameful how they waste people’s time.

Dr Lily Shue shows no compassion, walks off without telling us what she’s doing next, is utterly dismissive, does not show any kind of caring attitude and even laughed at my Wife when my wife explained she felt like she was dying! Next time if there is a need I’ll be checking if this Doctor is on first before coming. The male (Filipino?) nurse in comparison is kind, considerate, shows compassion and explains what is happening next.

The doctors didn’t even examine me, (Dr Lily Shue) treated me like I was bothering them, dismissive and just not caring at all. The second time I went there for the same problem, I saw Dr. Medina, what a rude and patronising person, when I described my symptoms very specifically the doctor stormed out of the room yelling because he didn’t believe me. They gave me 4 different types of pain killers but they didn’t try and solve my problem or shed a light or send me to the right people. I thought doctors are supposed to help people. Thanks for taking my money for nothing Ascot ER.

I wish I had of read these reviews earlier. Looks like other patients have received the same appalling treatment as me, from receptionist to nurse to Dr. If you have a problem like I have, email them so they're aware and can fix it.

Dr. Chaudhry not recommended, we went to urgent care at around 6pm and waited till 7.30pm to meet him. He gave the least attention, didn't listen to the patient history properly, recorded incorrect information and gave wrong medicines. Take extra care when you visit him, he is very distracted and no attention towards patient.

The receptionist and doctor lily shue there don't care about people. My accident was also rejected as ACC without reason and they charged me $120. Such a waste of time and money. Wouldn't go again unless last resort. I just read the Google reviews and seems like I'm not the only one complaining of the same things.

4 hour wait for my sick 5 year old was made even more frustrating by being told we were next time and time again when we clearly weren’t. We got called from the car to come in as we were next and 1 hour 30 minutes later we were seen.

Arrived and was treated well by reception, nurse and doctor. Wait time was around 2 hours but understandable seeing as it is the only 24 hour A&E accessable from East Auckland and currently it seems all medical facilities seem short staffed. The staff also managed to be polite regardless of how some people treated them, which was also understandable seeing as they were unwell and it was between 1am and 5am. The doctor and nurse were caring and sympathetic which was great considering how much they'd been running around and how I'd heard other patients treating them.

I want to thank the doctor (Martin) & nurse who were working the early morning hours (1 - 2am) of 13 September. I was turned away from Middlemore ED & it was suggested I go to the White Cross at Ascot instead. The wait there felt long but that is not the fault of the nurse or doctor who were working as hard as they could. They both quickly identified that I was having a gallstone attack & Doc Martin was very assertive in dealing with Middlemore & ensuring I got the care I needed. With his help I got admitted immediately to the surgical assessment unit at Middlemore & ended up spending a week in hospital. My gallbladder was removed. I can’t even imagine the stress & frustration of working in an understaffed & overwhelmed health system so thank you to this doctor & nurse for all your help. Your amazing work got me the care I needed & I’m now on the road to recovery :-)

Very rude staff, very unhelpful staff, I don't understand why a very simple question becomes complicated? Isn’t your job to treat illnesses? Why not be more serious? In the end I didn't even get a doctor. They just told me they couldn't do it and went on to do other things. I don't even know why. My English is not good, I can spend money. Why are you so cold?

Extremely poor service. I went there on 04/02/2023, recepcionist requested me a lot of legals paper. I spent 9 hours and paid NZD 280 for appointment and tests. They didn’t give me any diagnostics. Just Panadol and diclofenac. I could take medicine at home free 👎👎👎👎.This hospital need more people professional and trained. Waste of time and money!!!

After being sent to Ascot… It’s the first and LAST time, I’ll ever be going to that circus again! After being told a 2hr wait - with 6 people a head of you..(no probs).. then at 2.5hr mark being told there are now 12 people ahead of you so expect another 3-4hr wait…and you were wondering why so many people were losing their patience.

Excellent and efficient service from the minute we walked in the door. It was reasonably busy, yet everyone was seen promptly. Well run A snd E clinic. Super friendly receptionist. The nurse was caring, empathetic and thorough and the Dr although extremely busy was very efficient. Great work Ascot A and E

Absolutely pathetic! Violation of human rights My friend came for a medical report and xray After waiting for over 5 hours we got told at 3am that the xray facility closes at 10am My friend had a strong fall to the floor, he could have brain injury? I don’t feel like it was taken seriously The doctor wanted to push us away to Auckland hospital after waiting all that long, we kept telling her we just want a report but she was forcing her ‘suggestion’ on us and I told her you are being forceful in every aspect, it was only for the receptionist in the blue scrub that somehow convinced her to write us a report! (Thank you receptionist!) Dr Lilly Shue 👞 you are indeed a shoe!

I went To this facility. For A asthma attack that was Induced by A infection The wait time was very long though. This is understandable as they were Short-staffed. The nurses were lovely. And took good care of us. The issue I came across. Was the doctor? At this point I had been Coughing to the point of not being able to breathe and almost throwing up for 2, maybe 3. Hours The nurses moved me to a room by myself so I wouldn't disturb. Other patients? But when the doctor finally arrived. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. And accuse me of faking it. I was In shock Not 5 minutes into talking to the doctor. She says "Your coughing has picked up a lot since I came here." She called it convenient. She sat there looking at me not giving me Instructions But she did give me a asthma inhaler. Something a nurse had already done. She proceeded to interrogate me. And ask me what I was trying to skip out on. This was because I had asked for a medical notice To give to my strict school. This blatant disrespect completely ruined The experience I was already exhausted from a being late. And having coughing fits every 5 seconds. And then I had to deal with that. To be honest, it seems like a decent facility. I think I just got unlucky with either a too tired or too unprofessional doctor. But it was honestly Appalling And What makes it worse Is the fact there is no way to give feedback? Apart from these reviews. Which clearly shows that. I am not the only one that has had difficulties with this place I just hope the doctor reconsiders her behavior to patients. Specifically Teenage patients As this interaction. Has made me Certain that I will never go back here. Unless I am forced to.

Had to go to Ascot on Wednesday night due to being very sick for the last 7 days.. Yes there was a long wait which was anticipated, but i felt well looked after by the nurse and eventually the doctor. I really appreciated their patience, their care and professionalism. Highly Recommend

As for any A&E, there's likely to be a long wait, even more so during the pandemic. But the staff has been very friendly and the nurse and doctor were friendly, fast and effective. They also anticipated my needs based on things I had said, clearly listening attentively. I've only ever had good experiences at the Ascot A&E

My son with high fever and severe cough went to our local emergency care at 8pm but was referred to either Middlemore hospital or Ascot 24/7 as the local clinic closes at 11pm. We had thought Middlemore would have longer wait as it's public, so we went to White Cross at Greenlane instead. Arrived at 8.30pm and waited till 12.45am, spent 5 minutes with the doctor and was dismissed without any prescription and medical advice. We were charged $160 and my son is still in fever and severe cough after 20 hours seeing the doctor at Ascot. If I could rate Ascot a ZERO STAR, I would.

A long wait on a Saturday night but despite being short staffed, the staff were helpful and friendly- nurses were excellent and warm- receptionist lovely and Dr Lily was outstanding despite it being after midnight and probably being exhausted herself. Nobody wants to go to A and E late at night or wait- but the service was still excellent and the staff prioritised when they had to and made it all work.

Terible experience every single time. Waiting time is never-ending, and after 5 hours to see a doctor, they tell you the nurse supposed to send us for X-ray, and then they sent you to akl hospital because during the 5h waiting time, the radiologist left. Well done !!! Probs another 5h there soon to get stiched up.

  • 4/5 Lee 1 year ago on Google
Normally very good here can be a bit of a wait though but they seriously need to toughen up on their mask policy as several people without masks or wearing masks just around their chin. As a person with a low immunity and other health issues this isnt good to see. Dont know also why several patients need to have several people with them taking up chairs that patients waiting should be using.
