Its always hard to commit time and money to a gym membership. But the variety of classes and equipment is extensive. So something for everyone. I enjoy the instructor led sessions most. They are inspiring and highly motivated people. My favourite classes are Balance, Pump and Trip. And I like the classes designed to fit into the lunch hour. Three years on I am stronger and have more range of movement. The daily gym sessions are an anchor in my day. A place to let go of stress and raise my mood. The classes get new content and music often throughout the year.

What an establishment. I’ve been to a lot of different gyms over the years but Les Mills still remains New Zealand’s best overall offering in the health and fitness space. Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

Very a average gym and really anoying listing the closing hours wrong. The actual gym floor closes 15 mins before the listed times. This can completely ruin someone's workout. To top it off the cleaning staff and gym staff will come and get in the way about 30 mins before closing time. Actually to add to this, it is also extremely anoying that the staff come on the speaker every 5 minutes to tell you the gym is closing soon.

Just wanted to give this review to counter that given by @Mundo de Victor - I appreciate gyms who take a stance on people recording themselves in the gym. I love les mills and go to the gym to work out- it is infuriating when I end up inadvertently being recorded in the background of 'influencer-wannabe' videos. I hate when people record me without my permission, and consider it a huge breach of privacy. The fact that Les Mills takes a stance against recording for the benefit of ALL members is what sets it apart from other gyms in my opinion. This ALONE makes me like les mills above all other gyms.

Went for free trial. Nice and shiny, lots of ladies. Lots of classes. Seems not to be a serious workout gym for men though. Gym appears to be above some type of gravitational anomaly as I could lift 15 to 25% more on their machines vs at my more basic, but well equipped gym. Could they be rigged to exercise egos more than muscles? Possibly. Good place to go to meet you next ex wife, but not to get jacked.

I love this gym - previously I was a member and thought Auckland City was really cool until I came to Newmarket. The facilities are exceptionally clean and modern. Gym staff are also very friendly and do a great job of making sure the space is tidy at all times. It is also really nice how the receptionists remember my name and say Hi and Bye to me - it makes my day and makes me feel really special :) PS. Shoutout to the receptionists Max and Olivia for being kind enough to pause my membership

Weird set up. Weights room is on the third floor, toilets and changing rooms are on the 1sr floor. Equipments modern and area is clean and wasn't busy to the point you couldn't get on anything. Has free 90 minute parking.

For a long time I have used les mills and recently they have put prices up with no improvements to customer service! Les mills took payments from my accounts and recently they tired to blame me saying that I did something to stop my payments. At no point did they ever tell me that the account was overdue I only found out this after trying to cancel my account after 10+ years that I was to pay a big overdue bill before I could cancel. they never once communicated that there was something wrong with my payments so I could fix it! horrible experience especially because my bank said there is nothing wrong with my accounts and they must just be crazy. Very disappointing les mills shame on you! (If anyone is wanting to cancel their membership watch out for all the unfair charges they try to make you pay and give them lots of notice otherwise ur forced to pay more!) will never come back to this gym…

Visited for the first time the other day. Made them aware I hadn't been before and didn't offer any guidance or support to what was on or what to go. Just pointed to the staircases and told me to gym was up there. Was expecting something more aligned to what Britomart Les Mills has done.

Love this gym! Overall, friendly staff but sometimes seems like they have had a long day and are not very welcoming. Also, it sadly closes pretty early.

Les Mills is consistently the best gym in NZ, and likely the world. Great, clean equipment, a broad range of classes and workout options. The staff, from the presenters to reception are world class. Kind, professional and knowledgeable. Easy parking, enough equipment and classes. Im so utterly proud that Les Mills is a kiwi company. What is great is that you can get a multi site pass and get to Victoria St, Britomart, Newmarket and New Lynn depending on which trainers, class is on, or workout you feel like, but they are all amazing.

Felt very welcomed by FOH staff and group class instructors, but office staff and personal trainers were 'scowly' and might need to address attitude - they gave a self entitled 'influencer' vibe. Felt very judged like I was not worth their time or that I should be privileged to be in their presence. Not ideal for first starters or those unfamiliar to the gym environment. The classes are awesome and very immersive and encouraging. The gym floor feels lacking, including the absence of simple cable attachments, adductor/abductor and chest/delt fly equipment, and olympic platforms. Les Mills are excellent marketers, and this experience feels more like gloss than real substance, as a seasoned lifter and fitness professional. This review earns an additional star for quality of group fitness experience. This review loses a star for poor membership process experience from office staff, including deception around promotional pricing and promotional period expiry.

Pros - Well equipped - Reasonably new equipment - Good location - Parking Cons - Peak times very busy and weight training area not large enough to accomodate all - Many of the personal trainers are not promoting good form

I have recently tried to pause my membership before an overseas holiday, however the customer service I received made my request seem unimportant and undervalued. I was told that they would process it however the following week I was still charged & when I contacted them about it, they told me they were too busy to process it until the following fortnight.

Careful with Les Mills! Don't trust that company!!! I asked to pay per week for a short time "as advertised", and to my surprise, they charged me 6 months from my bank account! Now I'm going to Court to have my refund back as they are refusing it!!! Go away from that company, they are SCAM!

Unfriendly staff, cancelled my membership early which meant I had to pay the fee (which is fair enough). What isn’t fair is how rude they are about paying the fee by a deadline and sending threats shortly after, unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this gym, look elsewhere.

This is a fully equipped studio. If your dream like mine is to do les mills classes, this is the place. Instructors were fantastic. I got a class with Ace, a great instructor. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Absolutely a great experience

Generally it is a great gym. Some parking spaces in Mountain Road carpark are a bit too tight. If you drive a big car or arrive early or want to spend more time in the gym, parking your car at Suiter Street carpark would be more ideal.

I love coming to Les Mills Newmarket, especially for the group classes. The trainers are all top tier, and the equipment and facilities are really nice, too.

Customer service was amazing. I was visiting for a week and they accommodated me with a temporary pass/membership. I mostly strength train and my one dissatisfaction of this gym is the lack of squat racks. I went at around 2pm on a weekday so not peak time and I still had to wait for 2 other people to use the rack before I could use it. Which equated to over an hour.

Les Mills is difficult to fault, apart from not having a sauna. They are great friendly people, good equipment and facilities. Keep it up LM

Excellent friendly staff. Clean and my favorite Les Mills environment. Equipment is a bit lackluster, not a great gym for men but good if you are a female and like classes.

The facility is good, but the FOH staff not very friendly or welcoming, at least from last night, it was my first day there since a friend invited me. I did a bodypump class, it was good and the instructor was fun. One of the staff members waited behind me at the end of the class to ask me not to record me self.

Great gym, friendly staff, not too crowded off peak, nice equipment, thorough cleaning staff. If we could make free parking 2hrs 15 instead of 90mins I could do my 2 classes without worrying about a ticket too 😁

Excellent gym if you are after classes. Plenty live and virtual ones to choose from. Equipment wise less than I'm used to elsewhere . Enough cardio equipment though. Clean bathrooms and lockers BYO lock.

Clean, modern, and good changerooms. Sometimes busy but you can always do your workout without issues. People keep to themselves which I prefer. Not very social if that is what you are after.

Being mistreated is a very bad and uncomfortable feeling when you have had a trail and tour on the first day then the second day was being told you’re not allowed because i tried another club near home couple months ago. If a trial is not allowed to another club, then you should have stated that on your website or informed me at the right beginning. Customer service like this is ridiculous and rude. Disappointed experience and highly not recommended for this club.

😐 Overall, it is a good gym, but they always give the customers a "we want you to leave now" vibe, even before the gym floor closes. 😐 It's such a great gym. Unfortunately, it's overrun with high school students that hang around in groups of up to 6 or 7, taking up space and hogging equipment.
