We stumbled on this small cafe by accident, while staying in the area. We consequently dined there every morning of our stay. Great Staff, Fantastic coffee, and the food was too die for. The waffles are the best I have ever eaten and my colleagues had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was 10mm thick, WOW! Pricing was very economical. "A Diamond in the rough" I will definitely be back on my next trip to Auckland ! Well done guys!

Great coffee, comfortable modern atmosphere and friendly owners. Having walked passed many times before, I paused today long enough to see the Kokako. I really like Kokako coffee so had high hopes for the coffee at The Hideout. It did not disappoint. The food is also fantastic. We had Peanut butter, Bananas & Bacon with a side of Mushroom, and the $16.50 Bacon + Eggs + Regular Coffee. The food looked amazing, was freshly cooked, and tasted great. The kumara sourdough they use is some of the best I've had, and really complement the dishes. I look forward to going back.

The best flat white and long black coffee I tried so far in Auckland.

Such a cute little cafe. Loved their figurines and attention to detail for the decor. They were very accommodating when hubby asked for potato instead of kumara fries. And they use metal straws! Good on them!!

10/10 decor and wall art. Coffee was great, service was great. I had the breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon bun. The bun was great, but the sandwich was a bit much, with three types of meat, an egg, and a hash brown between two pieces of 2 thick slices of sourdough. I believe it would have worked better as a bacon and egg sandwich with hash brown and sausage on the side. Still, very tasty and great value for money.

It was terrible, the bacon and bread was overcooked! the price is expensive, not a good deal, and the cheese toast was terrible too. The coffee is ok. But!!!this is my first time to drink the terrible chocolate !so bad, I put the sugar by myself! Zero star!won't come again!

Those guys are absolutely amazing, totally made my day by offering to make something for me for breakfast that was not even on the menu! That's what you call going above and beyond for your customers! 5 start from me for sure

The staff here are amazing. SUPER nice. I have low expectations for coffee outside the states (I see why y’all add so much cream) but I was surprised by how good the coffee was too. And the food... it was not the default recipe for a Reuben. But I LOVED this take on it.

The long black and flat white are masterfully prepared - full taste, creamy consistency and the perfect size! And they have Sourdough bread for breakfast, which is just fantastic! Great job, guys! We'll definitely come back for the coffee and food :D

Love this place. Small and cute cafe with kind barista! The coffee is strong and a great start to your day! One star less for atmosphere since there’s too many flies flying around the tables inside.

Best coffee shop in Auckland. Anderson makes the best flat whites. Awesome little place with friendly service, good food and great coffee

The coffee shop has a charming and cozy atmosphere, giving off the impression of being a family-owned business. The staff members are friendly, and the coffee served is enjoyable. Additionally, the waffles they offered are enticing. However, one area of concern is the portion sizes, which may not be substantial enough for those with hearty appetites. Also, it gets noisy when busy

Delicious lunch at this small place. Don't miss out on the hand cut Bacon!

Excellent coffee and outstanding food. I had the eggs and kumara sourdough, husband had the English breakfast which was massive and every component from the mushrooms to the tomato to the sausage etc was delicious.

Stumbled on this gem while in the area. Excellent coffee, was slightly amused by the choice of mug, but it added to the already cozy charm of the place. I got the open breakfast sandwich, and it was excellent! Best late brekkie I've had in a long time. I particularly liked the home cut bacon. Was also very well priced for what I got. The place was well kept, warm, and had a nice vibe. Will come again when I'm in the area!
