So thankful my partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant, especially because we made it just in time for dinner! I was surprised to see such a quality food and drink menu given its a bar and grill. I expected mainly burgers which they do have a great selection of, but there are equally as many options of quality entrees as well. They have a homemade alfredo pasta dish with gluten free spaghetti and lentil balls that I really wanted to try but I went for the Sriracha Shrimp with Pesto Alfredo and grilled bread and it did not disappoint! My partner got the Roasted Chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We also shared their house avocado fried french fries and mac n cheese as starters and that was also so tasty! For drinks, I got a French 75 and my partner got the Reposado Old Fashion. Our server Simon was so professional and speedy with all of the courses! He was also very helpful making suggestions of what to try and every course was fantastic. I really appreciated his patience as well allowing us to experience a full meal given they were closing and gave us to-go materials as we started getting full so we could easily wrap up. I did notice too there is a great variety of food options for vegetarians, GF, and pescatarians such as myself so that is a huge plus! This meal was the saving grace to a VERY long day of traveling and I would definitely go back again!

Amazing service, exceptional food. I very rarely enjoy evenings out at restaurants. I am very critical of food and service. This place is awesome.

This is a really nice restaurant but still had a relaxed neighborhood vibe. Our waiter was excellent. Started with a bottle of wine which was a generous pour. I had the Cajun redfish which was excellent. Grits were good but my side of mac & cheese was amazing. Hubby had the sriracha shrimp with pesto linguine. It was also quite good. It’s far from us so don’t go as often as we’d like. According to hubby if we still lived in the area it would be a regular hangout for us.

Gotta try the chicken fried chicken. I’ve been here a few times now and keep coming back for more. I will say I think the portions are getting smaller each time i come. It’s pretty cool how they have local artwork on the walls, and the bungalow style restaurant makes for a pretty cool vibe. I wish the table salt and pepper shakers were upgraded a bit. Hardly anything comes out the pepper when you shake it. Additional parking spots in the back, and service was great. Didn’t rush us and checked up on us often. Great spot to come relax snd enjoy some good comfort food! Will be back!

The crowd here is on the older side. People come with their families or even on dates. The drinks are strong. The happy hour is cheap but only limited items. There is plenty of parking in the front, back, and a bigger lot further back. We ordered 4 of their happy hour drinks, they were tasty and came quickly. For the food, we opted for happy hour finger food. We got their famous fries, fried beans, and fried avocado. The fries were delicious, they are coated in some starch and fried. The avocado tasty so good, like creamy egg yolk. The fried string beans are just as you’d expect. The dipping sauces were yummy!! The portions here are very big for their happy hour price. The staff was nice and quick. I would def come back again to try their chicken fried steak entree.

A few friends and I stopped here just after flying in for a few days. The weather was perfect to sit outside and relax. The staff was very attentive, helpful and quick. We chose the pancake battered french fries for an appetizer which was very tasty but I think we should have ordered the small as it made it difficult to finish the rest of our meals. I opted for the meatloaf, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes which were very satisfying. My companions had the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken which they said were also great. Overall great location, good food, friendly staff. 😁

I’ve been coming to Hyde Park for going on 18 years now. Last weekend was my first post-Covid visit and I must say that it was overall a great experience. Service was excellent, Reuben was amazing, and the fries were the same great fries of the good ole days. I also must commend Hyde Park on their comprehensive kids meal- lots of options which is always appreciated. This place is an establishment and walking through the doors takes me back to a different time.

Loved my Thai pad noodles, it was the special meal for the day and it’s incredibly delicious! Also, the award winning fries is great to have. I would definitely recommend this place for grill bar. I also had avocado rolls which were baked perfectly. The price is also not too bad. One can feel full after eating a couple of items from the menu.

I got the Shrimp & Grits w/ Fries. The Shrimp & Grits is pretty unorthodox as it is loaded with corn. This does not add to the pleasantness. In fact the grits were flavorless and the corn ruined the texture of the entire dish. The shrimp was flavorful and well seasoned. The fries were actually pretty good which brought this up to a 3/5.

I came down from Lubbock to see a friend and came in Monday afternoon for lunch. I had the fish and chips special, made with haddock, and my friend had the chicken fried steak with their poblano cheddar grits. We both agreed that it was the best we ever had of every single dish we tasted. So impressive! Service was not overly attentive but friendly and fun. We had a great time and the food is excellent. Definitely worth your visit

We had most of our family together on Sunday, 01/16. We're not from Austin, but this place had been recommended. We're so glad we tried it! The food was great. Our waiter Simon was a delight and took great care of us. One of the better Moscow Mules I've had in awhile. Everyone had a great time and great food!

Come early (before 6pm) for happy hour! New York sour was a great suggestion from waiter. Came on recommendation of friend. Now one of my favorite. Menu is diverse and I can’t wait to come back.

Came here for brunch and we were not disappointed. Will be returning to try more on the menu. Great food, great Bev's, great vibe, for sure worth a try if you were thinking about it or just in the area.

Max provided excellent service and had a very pleasant personality. Morgan was also very personable and did an incredible job with my entree as the evening’s chef. I ordered the Bacon-Glazed Meatloaf with HP Mac & Cheese and Bacon-Braised Collards. The food was delightful! This was my 2nd visit here, and I will definitely return. Awesome job Hyde Park Bar & Grill!!!!!

I've been to this restaurant 3 times for lunch. It's been phenomenal every time. My spinach salad with Sriracha shrimp was fresh, crisp and delicious. Be sure to get the avocado fries. They are spicy and perfect. Service is always excellent too and the restaurant has a cool Austin vibe.

The food was good! I had the smoked ribeye with mac & cheese and green beans. It was delicious. We shared the Wom Kim’s Peach Pudding for dessert. It was southern and comforting, but with some fun surprises. I took off a star because (1) the service fell flat and you want good service at a nice place like that. And (2) the decor inside could use some updating. There is some cool art on the walls but they use these track lights that shine down pretty hard on certain tables. Overall it was a good experience and I will definitely try this place again!

Extremely underrated! I frequent many of Austin’s “hottest” dining spots and this place is in my top 5 favorites in the city. I will drive 25 minutes just for the fries. Great food at a great price. Although it does draw an older crowd, I find it to be the perfect place for a solo, casual lunch. My favorites are the Blackened Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Pastrami Reuben, Pan Roasted Chicken, and (of course) the Hyde Park Fries (extra dipping sauce). You won’t be disappointed.

I organized a dinner tonight for nine friends and myself. I was unable to reserve a table online, but I found phoning and talking to a human was pleasant, helpful, and easy. The service (by Eli) was incredible, and there was no problem with all of our separate checks. The food was fantastic (as always), including of course the best french fries in Austin. Many thanks to Hyde Park for an awesome evening. We will be back.

This is a great spot and consistently good. I have always had a great experience. Recommend the chicken and waffles. And the chicken fried chicken. And how could I forget the Hyde Park Fries. Oh, and the bloody mary.

This iconic comfort food haven has been an Austin institution for decades, and it never disappoints. Since we came on the Monday before Thanksgiving, the huge fork standing in front was holding a turkey! I love the laid-back ambiance of this place, warm and filled with natural light. There’s a full bar, and while there are only a few beers on tap, I was able to get my favorite Austin-brewed hazy IPA. The menu has so many good choices you can’t go wrong. Number one recommendation? The FRIES. I’ve had them all over the world and Hyde Parks are the best! I got an order to eat there as well as a large order to bring home and reheat in the air fryer! I get fries every time, no matter what else I order. Other things I rotate through: the burgers, chicken fried chicken, bacon glazed meatloaf, the Asian chicken salad, and the Sonora salad. The sides are excellent, with my favorites being the buttermilk mashers, the grilled broccoli, and the cheddar poblano grits. The other thing I get every time has an odd name but is simply delicious: Wom Kim’s Peach Pudding. Just try it. The weekend brunch is also amazing. Join lots of Austinites in this weekly celebration.
