The Brisket here is the most moist brisket I've ever had. Delicious I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Austin. We got there on a Friday around noon at there was a reported 2:30 hours wait. But we were able to get through in about an 1:45 minutes. The wait was worth it and the majority of people in line were visitors from out of town. We were able to meet enough people to past the time. You are also allowed to buy craft beer from the bar and complimentary water while you wait in line. Franklin, I'll see you soon. 😊😊😊😊

I don’t know what to say that has not been said already. Best BBQ I have ever had, every meat was so tender and juicy. Every single BBQ sauce was delicious, my favorite was the espresso sauce. I would skip the potato salad next time but the coleslaw was to die for. Get a pie for desert!! The pecan one was my favorite. I got there at 7:30 am and we were able to score an outdoor chair while we were waiting. The time went by super fast, they put music on and served drinks. Highly recommend the mango mimosa. We ordered while we were in line and got served at around 11:30. We were able to sit indoors as there was still space but it quickly filled up. I recommend getting there as early as possible so you can reserve the meats you would like and be able to eat at a reasonable time.

It was an honor to finally be able to make the trip to Austin and eat at Franklin. The brisket alone was worth the wait... unbelievably good. Jalapeño cheddar sausage is an absolute delicacy! Pork ribs were juicy, flavorful and tenderness was spot on. Pulled pork sandwich was phenomenal as well... the thin sauce puts it over the top. Slaw and potato salad were also great, but we didn't come here for the sides! Strawberry rhubarb pie sends you off already talking about when you're going to return. Got a chance to see the pits, too... really helps you appreciate the love these people have for BBQ because it is HOT in the pit room. Aaron (and team's) brisket is king! Hop in line (go on a weekday if you can), grab a chair from under the stairs (no need to bring your own), enjoy the wait because it's worth it!

40 minute from line to getting the food. Not bad for Sunday at 1pm. Indoor & outdoor tables are available. Brisket was good, evenly cooked. You can order by the pound or just asking for number of slices. We also had a single order of potato salad & single order of coleslaw, a jalapeño & pie. They have a good selection of alcoholic canned beverages. Service was courteous & attentive!

The briskets are to die for. The pork ribs were equally sublime. We basically ordered everything from the menu. So, the seasoned sausage were my third favorite. The pulled pork and the turkey were good but nothing compares to the life-changing brisket that’s cooked to perfection! What an absolute delight getting to experience Franklin BBQ!

This place is everything and more when it comes to the hype. By far the best brisket you can possibly have. Definitely worth the 2 hour wait. Make sure you get there by 11pm AT THE LATEST to make sure you can try anything you want. The ribs were fall off the bone and just as good as the brisket. The turkey and sausage were unbelievable. I could have done without the pulled pork but it was still very good. Just not close to how insane everything else tasted. The beans were my favorite side because they're mixed in with some brisket and have some spiciness to it. The potato salad was great as well. You have to put this place on your bucket list. Side note: If you get there early enough, they offer lawn chairs for you to sit in while you wait until the doors open! That is one of the most generous things I've ever seen a restaurant do.

“Franklin’s Barbecue is without a doubt the pinnacle of Texan barbecue experiences in the entire state. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the warmest staff, creating an inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the meal. The smoky aroma that enveloped the air was a prelude to the incredible flavors that awaited. Every bite of their barbecue was a journey into the world of perfectly balanced smokiness and tenderness, a testament to their mastery of the craft. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness elevated the experience even further, making me feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a customer. With a flawless service score of 100 out of 100, Franklin’s Barbecue not only meets expectations but exceeds them on every level. Without a doubt, I’m already eagerly looking forward to my next visit. Franklin’s has truly set the bar impossibly high for any other barbecue joint to follow.”

I did not think Franklin's could live up to the hype. I waited in line 2.5 hours. They had chairs for us to sit in and had a cooler of water and cups. They were super organized. They took our order 1.5 hours before they opened, told us how to order, offered suggestions about how much to order per person and wrote down the order for me. Once they opened it went pretty smoothly. Everyone was super nice and very personable. And yes, it more than lived up to the hype. Every single person in my party of 7 said it was the best BBQ they have ever had. Their sides and pies are phenomenal also.

It was really good. Not sure anything can live up to the hype this place gets, but the brisket was delicious and juicy. The ribs were a tad too soft for my liking, but still great flavor. The pulled pork was delicious too. Somehow, they don't serve Mac and cheese here tho. Just be prepared to wait for at least 90 minutes. I won't name the other BBQ place we visited on the same trip, but their seating area was probably 8-10x as large, and they had 5-6 cashiers operating at once instead of 1.. so there was almost no wait, and the BBQ was still great. Obviously you'd have to judge for yourself if the 90 minutes wait is worth it. I'd say the brisket here is worth the wait personally. It wasn't as good at the other place.. but I did like their ribs better. I guess you'll have to do both.

Got in line at 7:40am and ordered food at 12:05pm. In the picture are 2 1/4 lbs of brisket (1.75 lean and 0.5 fatty), 1/4 lbs of turkey, 1/4 lbs of pulled pork and 1 house + 1 special sausage. All of the meat turned out perfect. Brisket was of course amazing, seasoned just the right amount so that you can well taste the meat itself. Turkey and pork came out as a surprise too as they were so moist. Chairs were provided during the wait and the shop pre-opened at 9am for folks to get water and use the restroom. You can also ask staff for a tour to the pits. It was hot but very cool.

After reading mountains of reviews we decided to go on a Saturday. Arrived at 8:30am and grabbed some of their complimentary chairs and sat in line. They did have staff that came down the line to let us know that we could use the bathroom and purchase drinks/memorabilia while we waited. Around 30 min before they opened they had someone go down the line to get an idea of what everyone was going to order. Since it was Saturday, we made sure to tell them we wanted beef ribs well as brisket and sausage. The gentleman who was taking notes said we may have gotten the last beef ribs for the day. Once they opened (11a) it took another 1.5 hours before we actually had our food. The weather was awesome (Mid October) so we chose to sit outside. The Brisket was freaking awesome! Worth the wait! The Beef ribs were just plain delicious.! Everything was so tender....you only need a knife for the sausages which were great as well.

The fabled stories of the long lines, sold out signs, and fabled brisket at the end of a smokey rainbow... are all true. Whenever the door opens, make sure you arrive AT LEAST a few hours ahead of time to secure your place in line. Bring chairs, friends, snacks, and some patience and humor. The brisket is hands down the best, ribs fell off the bone, and the sausage was excellent. Personally, I didn't love the pulled pork, but it was still good. I would highly recommend a trip here, even if your friends, family, and coworkers don't understand the power and pull of the smoke. As my group said, when we rolled out at 7 a.m., "Risk it for the Brisket," I, for one, am certainly glad I did.

Are you in the mood for tender, juicy, delicious, melts in your mouth, barbecue. Look no further! This location is very tasty! This spot opens at 11:00 am, but people will line up as early as 8:30 am. Typically, the first items to sell out are the pork ribs and the brisket, but all items on the menu are delicious! All items will sell out, and once they're done, they're done, at least until the next day. Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages are offered. If you're in the Austin area and are craving deliciousness, definitely check this spot out!!!

Second time here, and I think it's best to just stick with the brisket, that's his best item. I also had a giant beef rib, but it was way too greasy, just packed with it. The brisket is way less greasy and that's the item to go to. I liked his original sauce, it was actually pretty good. As for all the service here, the folks who work here couldn't be friendlier, they go out of the way to make sure you're taken care of and feel at home. My rating of the three stars is just for the beef rib, because it had a lot of Grease, but the brisket's okay.

Well. It's as you'd expect. Long wait to guarantee your fix. Patient and friendly staff especially considering they have people nonstop. Pork ribs were best ever. Brisket outstanding. Pulled pork sandwich was a surprise solid winner. Tried the turkey and sausage for sake of completion but you wouldn't miss them.

Franklin’s lived up to the hype and was well worth the 2 hours in line. What an experience! My BBQ bar has been officially raised. The brisket was tender, flavorful and juicy, the pulled pork was moist and delicious and the pork ribs were seasoned just right. All the employees were attentive and friendly. Cool merch area too, lots of Franklin goodies to buy. Don’t get here too late in the day, they do run out of items and will often sell out of food. Mr. Franklin, you are the BBQ Jesus!

Visited a few years ago and have come back a few times and can never quite beat the line before they sell out! The fist time I came I stood in line for about an hour with people before they opened. Glad to see it’s still thriving but as a landmark of Austin how could it not! Once inside the line moves quick. Come hungry but your eyes can definitely be bigger then stomach with so much good stuff to choose from! Will probably try ordering ahead.

This was one of the BEST day trips I’ve had yet. Customer service was everything, food was amazing, wait until you see these ribs!!! I won’t upload all the pics because it doesn’t do them justice, but we arrived at 8:00am to a line that formed at 5:45am. There were plenty of chairs to use while you wait. Drinks and bathroom were offered while we waited. Freda took our preorder. Everyone was so nice. We ordered 6lbs of brisket, 1/2lb of pulled pork, 3lbs of ribs, potato salad, beans and coleslaw. Definitely worth the wait. Mr Franklin, hats off to you sir! And thank you for the tour!

An Austin essential and I do agree with the hype. Being from the northeast I can’t say I’m a bbq connoisseur but I do appreciate the art. We queued up at 8:30am and were fed by 11:30. The wait really isn’t bad because they have chairs and drinks for you. Once it opens and you start standing, that wait does feel a bit longer. We were able to snag some beef ribs and of course brisket, sausage, and pork ribs. All of it was really good but also it’s also a lot of meat for breakfast 😅 Definitely a must try when in Austin!

I have tried a lot of BBQ all over the country, this is my number 1 spot. Will you wait in line, yes. Will you wonder if it's worth it while you're in the line, yes. After the your first bite you will say yes it was well worth the time to get it. I showed up a little before 11am on weekday. The wait was about an hour. I would have waited twice as long Every last bit of rib meat will fall off the bone. Highly recommended.

We came here close to 3PM on Sunday and were told they’re sold out for the day— which explains why there’s no one waiting in line… We were disappointed because it won’t open Monday and we’re flying out Monday night. We hung around the restaurant trying to get a cab for 10 min, then the lady went out and said they can serve us. So we ended up in the restaurant having wait only 10 min and got the most delicious brisket in the world… It was tender, juicy, flavorful, and the sauce carries the right sweetness to complement the meats. Even the cole slaw is better than the ones I usually get. Maybe I’m being generous in my review since I only waited 10 min vs. the usual 1.5 hour. But the staff’s one liner and warm atmosphere made everything beautiful.

Best brisket I had in town. It was a 3 hour wait. We got there an hour before they opened, but it was still totally worth it. I also loved the jalapeno cheddar sausage! If I ever come back to Austin, Franklin is the place I would go to immediately. But after eating Franklins sadly no other place I visited compared.

First visit;referred by community first village staff, who highly recommended it. Building located on corner, minimal parking, however there is street parking. We were warned about a line, lucky for us it was not very long. Wait time was 30 minutes standing under the covered area. Food cost is $$ (whatever that means to you). Brisket was the best. 5 🌟 We had ribs, beans & and potatoes salad. Taste was good, meat sold by the pound, no plate combos. There are 4 BBQ sauce options Staff were amazingly kind, polite, and friendly.

Let me tell y'all, the wait is worth it. Everything about my experience was amazing. Making friends in line, making friends with the staff, and the BBQ was some of the best I have ever had. Don't be skeptical, get your butt over here support this place!

This really is life changing bbq. We went midweek post lunch rush and were only two parties from the door when we arrived. They were sold out of turkey and sausage. The brisket is the moistest and most tender you’ll ever have. The flavor will wreck you in a good way. The ribs were equally as good but I prefer brisket. As with most bbq places imho the side are mid at best. We got potato salad and slaw. Skip the sides and just spend that money on beef and beer. I’m never going to wait around the building for it but it is a great experience. The staff is also wonderful and seemed glad we were there.

Incredible! We wait almost an hour and a half but it was really worth it. They are famous for the brisket and it is DELICIOUS but the ribs were something from another planet, absolutely AMAZING! We try all the meats and all were great. Best bbq in town! The people is very friendly, when you arrive you can ask what they have left and they will let you know if you would be able to get what you want. I recommend going around midday.
