Awesome place, loved the atmosphere and our service was outstanding. We loved everything but ordered to much. Overall it was just perfect. The chicken liver was excellent. The Bloody Mary was to die for. First time having fried deviled eggs and I’m expressed. Outside seating was good. We’ll definitely come back again.

This is now my favorite returant in Austin to order chicken and waffles! You must try them! The atmosphere was awesome. We came for lunch. Our waiter, Eric, did a great job, very enthusiastic and outgoing. I will definitely recommend Lucy's Chicken. Oh yeah, I am very picky about my unsweet Tea, this tea was perfectly made, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely return to this establishment at this location.

It took almost a decade to actually try this place! I really like the vibe here. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. I'm a fried chicken lover but I'm also very particular. I enjoy fried chicken that's well seasoned (could be Chicago style, Indian seasonings etc), spicy versions, Korean, and Nashville. Not the biggest fan of just regular bland fried chicken. Unfortunately, Lucy's only has the regular and no spicy or seasoned option, and the regular doesn't have spices or flavoring to it. So for me it was pretty bland. I also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken special that was on the board. It was decent but does not compare to T22 in terms of spiciness, preparation, presentation, and taste. With that said, I felt the quality of the chicken was pretty good and the leftovers held up well under the air fryer a few hours later. Also tried DEEP FRIED DEVILED EGGS and LUCY’S FRIED PICKLES (actually order CHICKS AND CHIPS but received this instead). Both were good for what they were. Overall, I thought the service was good, food was okay and a bit on the pricey side, and great vibes. I'm happy to have finally tried them and crossed them off the list.

I think that this was my favorite meal in Austin. I was drawn in by the neon sign and had to stay for the food. The chicken was great, nice and churchy and full of flavor. My favorite thing we ate was the fried deviled eggs. I could have eaten a dozen of them. The oysters were also wonderful. The habenero sauce was the perfect touch. Our waitress was extremely attentive, and the covered outdoor atmosphere was extremely pleasant. Definitely come here if you live in the area or are in town for a visit.

Went to Lucy’s for the first time today - our expectations were mid and we had heard opposing opinions. We ordered a Texas Poutine (special for the day) to start and it was great. The tater tots were done well and their sausage gravy was actually damn good. The cheese curds were perfectly fried and had that amazing chew you always want in a cute. I’d actually get the curds by themselves if they had them too. The other special for they day was Nashville Hot Chicken. I overestimated the hot.. it wasn’t hot at all. They served me 2 chicken breasts which I thought was odd - at least a heads up or a mix of dark and white meat. Unfortunately it was dry. The skin and Nashville seasoning was good but there was little Nashville to it. The fried chicken basket was better. The 4 piece came with breast, thigh, drumstick and wing. It was juicy and paired well with some of the sauces they have at the table. We also ordered coleslaw and I thought it was good. My wife thought it had too much vinegar. Overall, everything was good but it doesn’t compete with the big name up the road. (It rhymes with buses). Service was good and the place looks fun to have a few drinks too.

Lucy's delivers great portions at great prices. Awesome venue with great outdoor seating. Rotating daily deals can keep you trying new drinks for a good price. The best deal for raw oysters in Austin, as far as I know. The fried chicken is amazing.

It's our last day in Texas and we were walking around Congress Ave and found this place. The food was incredible and the service was fantastic! Lindy took great care of us and was awesome! Now we got a great place to come back to next time we visit. If you're near Austin and want some great fried food you have to come here! I would highly recommend!

An Austin staple. Usually busy on weekends and has live music for sxsw. Had the fried chicken sandwich , sub fries, side of fried okra. It was huge and worth the money! They have a great variety of homemade hot sauces . Not a lot of indoor seating 🥵

this place is a true 5 star. first off great atmosphere. casual outdoor patio area with picnic tables. radio was on and playing good music. staff was friendly, attentive, and fast. the food was excellent. nothing was super original or special but it was done right. fried pickle spears were to die for. chicken and waffles were amazing, and the tenders and chicken bucket were great as well. prices were reasonable and for that reason i’m giving a 5/5

Really good! The atmosphere is by far my favorite thing about the establishment. Got the mixed piece chicken bucket, and while the chicken was cooked perfectly, both the breading and the fries lacked in seasoning IMO. Although, adding a few squeezes of jalapeños juice did the trick perfectly! Would definitely recommend giving this place a try for classic fried chicken.

Chicken spaghetti 9/10 it would have been a 10 if the piece of chicken on top wasn’t dry and flavorless, the spaghetti itself was flavorful and delicious. Cornbread 2/10, it wasn’t good, but it was a very thick, filling constancy. Fried catfish 8/10, for me it’s a must to eat it with the tratar sauce and lemon. Now the fried deviled eggs are a MUST TRY!!! Just take my word for it.

Delicious! 4.75/5 stars. I got the chicken and waffles, a cornbread, s’mores pie and a house margarita for like $28 (the margaritas was on special). The cornbread was moist, sweet and flavorful and not overpowered by the jalapeño, which added a nice contrast to the sweetness. The chicken was hot, fresh, very moist, flavorful and seasoned and fried very well! Very large portions as well for the price. The waffles were ACTUAL Belgian-style waffles with the sugar beads baked in, which I literally haven’t had since visiting Belgium years ago. I will be coming back to try the other menu items and some of the sides. Very good value for the cost and what was provided. No review on the pie yet since I took it to go since I was overfilled by the main course, but it looks delicious.

Amazing service and amazing food. The ambience very clearly clearly shows a mix of Texas and Austin vibes. A mix of both crowds. Huge selection of drinks especially during happy hour which has incredibly cheap prices.

Lucy’s staff were delightful. We ordered the chicken basket with onion rings and the chicken fried steak and fries. The fried chicken was well done. The onion ring had a a subtle kick. The chicken fried chicken was fresh not frozen and well done. My husband would recommend the chicken fried steak.

I'm not even sure where to start but I absolutely loved our experience at this little hole in the wall. To begin, we were there on a Tuesday, I somehow got confused and thought they closed at 10, but they close at 9pm. We were greeted as we walked in, our server promptly brought us menus and offered drinks. We ordered fried pickles and chicken nachos as appetizers. The Margaritas were amazing, nice and strong (only had 1) the apps were delicious, best fried pickles I've ever had and the nachos as well, every tostada has toppings on it. For the main dish my husband ordered fish and chips, the fries were crisp and tasty 😋 the cod filets were fresh and simply delicious. I ordered the chicken and waffles, they blew me away with the flavor. Best waffles I've ever had, the chicken was crispy, juicy and full of flavor. If that's not enough the service was exceptional 👌 our server was on top of of it, yet never rushed us, because as I mentioned before I thought they closed at 10. He did advice us at about 15 minutes before 9pm that kitchen would close shortly in case we wanted more food but by then we were so full from the apps that we only ate the waffles and 2 chicken strips, we took the rest of the deliciousness home to enjoy the next day.

Amazing food! The staff are all so friendly, and restaurant is super clean and cute. We got salads, sides, and a basket of fried chicken - the portions were great and food was phenomenal! Highly recommend.

This place was great. From the sweet tea to the banana cream pudding I finished with. I had heard good things and had to try this place. I had also heard about the baked chicken spaghetti and just had to try it. I can say that I am not disappointed. Check this place out! The parking lot is decorated in a cool fashion too. The whole place has a chill feel.

I’ve been reading reviews of the best places in town for fried chicken and decided to try Lucy’s this week. It was a great experience. I had the four piece basket with coleslaw and collards. The chicken was well seasoned and very crisp on the outside while juicy on the inside. The coleslaw did have a mayo dressing, which I usually don’t like, but it was really tasty and full of interesting ingredients. The collards had the right mix of salt and bitter and acid but I was missing some real chucks or flavor of bacon. Parking is a little hard to come by and the benches aren’t the most comfortable but I’ll be back for sure.

I really enjoyed the dinner and drink I had here! Ordered the Juicy Lucy and it was delicious with the right balance of flavors. The Blackened Catfish Sandwich was also great. The servers were very kind, things were just a tad bit slow but I definitely recommend checking the place out anyway!
