Must visit if you are in austin metro, and would like to see peacocks and beautiful park with hiking trail leading to river. It is free, atleast was when i visited. Have parking inside and also street side. Kids are specially thrilled by looking at peacocks.

Nice little area, the winter killed off the garden and the Koi pond only had 4 Koi that I saw. Once spring is in full effect it will be beautiful there.

In the cottage and garden areas, we spotted 3 gorgeous peacocks. The koi ponds were a nice touch. But right outside of the gardens, we saw at least a dozen more peacocks free roaming including babies! It was such a treat. Really enjoyed my time here!

A beautiful, peaceful, easy walk through woods, beside lake, past coy ponds, with some peacocks thrown in.

There is easy and free parking, outhouse on site. I just decided to explore the grounds near the front where the peacocks are. It was gorgeous. Such a peaceful area. Well manicured gardens and ponds. Plenty of benches to sit on throughout. I would return and hike through the longer trails that I didn't have a chance to do.

There are more than 10 peacocks. You'll find the peacocks at the entry point. Also took the trail. Inside view is also nice. Well maintained preserve.πŸ‘

Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve is a gem of Austin. With its stunning trails, serene ponds adorned with water lilies, and majestic peacocks roaming freely, this 28-acre park offers a delightful escape. I love the Bell Trail Arch and the charming Rose Garden. The koi pond has a lot of fish swimming around. The absence of an entrance fee is a bonus. However, the parking lot can be crowded on weekends, requiring street parking and a short walk. You can even reserve this picturesque park and the cottage for private events. It's definitely a must-visit spot in Austin!

Visiting Mayfield Garden was a magical experience. The vibrant peacocks added a surreal touch to the serene natural beauty. The lush greenery and colorful blooms created a picturesque setting, and the peacocks' majestic displays were a sight to behold. It's a tranquil escape where nature and these graceful birds come together, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a unique and peaceful retreat.

Never went in. Cars in the parking lot had smashed windows and found four different peoples credit cards in the bushes.

I have been here several times over the years, and now with my kids. It's always a calming place, fun to watch the peacocks, and there are lots of neat spaces to explore. Whenever we're in the area to visit Mt Bonell, we stop by here as well. You can't go wrong with peacocks and beautiful views of the hillside. Over the years, they have added ponds, but it is otherwise largely unchanged, which makes it special to share with the family.
