I visited this restaurant two and a half weeks ago when I was in Avignon on a short work trip. I must say, I was impressed. It's a hidden sort of restaurant tucked away from the main street and you barely notice it walking by. BUT The food was really delicious, with good vegetarian and vegan options! I especially loved the dhal, which was so yummy and just the right amount of spicy! Reminded me of food from back home. The owner is a really lovely man. The restaurant was quiet as it was early on a Monday night and he was very kind and friendly! A must visit!!

We were hungry for some flavorful spicy food and found this little Indian restaurant in Avignon. We are vegetarian and we had their chana masala and daal tadka And Bombay potatoes. All really good. The only suggestion would be to kae naan without egg. The ownwr was super nice and accommodating

This restaurant was wonderful for me. It's location will be perfect for Festival. Having had some awful attempts at Indian meals from another restaurant not too far from here I knew by the smells coming from the kitchen that this one would be far better and it was. I could taste the ingredients in the sauces rather than it tasting bland. Remember to tell them to make the meal as if it were for themselves if you are used to British Indian restaurants. There were 6 tables outside that were all full on our fist pass so we waited until later as we wanted to eat outside. If you want to cool off whilst you eat there is an indoor dining area with Air Conditioning. The owner really puts in an effort to make sure everything about your visit is perfect. His restaurant is exactly what an Indian restaurant should be. A hole in the wall with some seating. We will be going back if nothing for how nice the owner was to all the guests that we saw.

Not easy finding an Indian restaurant after 6 weeks touring in France but glad we found this little gem in an Avignon side street. Don’t be put off by the cafe like nature of the place as our food was exceptional. Onion Bhaji is totally different from a UK one but was absolutely delicious. Nan bread was lovely as were the curries. The waiter was so friendly and would put most French waiters to shame. Overall we had a lovely meal - Thank you.

Very nice staff, but sorry to say one of if not the worst curries I've ever had, and I've had plenty of right and true curries. Watery curry "sauce" lacking any depth of flavour, (so watery the rice on my plate was floating around). chicken really hard and overcooked. Naan bread I think had been frozen. And yes the stomach upset really followed through. Atrocious. Avoid

If you are in Avignon, do yourself a favor and dine at Taj Mahal. Their flavors and attention to detail are amazing. They have great options for vegetarians - not just one item like many other restaurants! The owner is super warm, friendly and speaks multiple languages. He provided a great experience to every table, not just ours. Don't forget to have a delicious mango lassi! :-)

I have had doner kebab’s all over Europe. Australia and NZ. I never knew I needed one on naan. My mind is blown. The absolute BEST kebab I have ever had. INCREDIBLE! Also, the owner is so kind and generous. Do not miss this place if you’re in Avignon!!

Air-conditioned small restaurant, rather unassuming. Owner/waiter is great and attentive, even spoke about his years in North of England. Anyway, food is excellent, full of flavour, which is rare for an Indian in Europe. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Obviously has no licence for alcohol, so only sells soft drinks. Also has a takeaway next door, and tables out the front.

We had a nice Indian dinner at Taj Mahal, with good portions and very friendly and helpful service, in English. We definitely recommend it as a cosy and uncomplicated place with tasty, authentic food.

Great food. Very nice and kind people. It’s clear that they care for their product. I’ve even saw a man (who I suppose is the owner), explaining carefully to an uber eats delivery how to drive his bike so the order didn’t get messed up. I’d definitely come back.

Fantastic service and food! On vacation, we were craving a good rice and curry and did we sure find it here. Delicious curries and some of the best simosas we've ever tasted. I know it's not French, but sometimes you just need a break from butter and cream.

After 5 hours of sightseeing in Avignon in a very very hot summer day, was very glad that this restaurant turned on full air conditioning (rare in France) so It literally saved my day after walking around under scorching sun in Avignon, Had Saag Paneer which was excellent and chicken curry and Raita, all of them were delicious and healthy. The owner was super friendly and nice and the orders were delivered quite fast. It was an overall a very pleasant experience. Dal (lentil soup) was very good as well. Merci!
