I stayed a couple of nights at this very small 2-star hotel, probably best described as cozy. The hotel's location is its chief saving grace because it's quite central without it being on a main road. Not only is the hotel small, but everything in it matches its size. My room was tiny. The bathroom was even smaller, rendering it almost impractical. I had trouble getting in and out of the shower. If you want to spend any time in your room other than to sleep, or if you suffer from claustrophobia, Le Colbert isn't a good match. By the way, these tiny rooms don't come cheap.

Great hotel at a good price walking distance to all attractions in Avignon. Owner (and dog) were very nice. Room was incredibly clean. Only small complaint was that there seemed to be small flying bugs occasionally. I assume because it’s just outside of a garden.

Very nice, clean, quiet hotel with friendly owners and a great interior design. We stayed in August with my husband during the heat wave and it was our safe harbour.

Stayed here one night in April 2019. Perfect location in the middle of the old town - easy to get to both the train station and the palace. Friendly staff as well as a friendly small dog.

This is a great little hotel in Avignon. I booked only one night in advance as I decided to extend my stay in Avignon and my former hotel had no availability. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the woman at the front desk spent a long time explaining everything about the hotel and the room to me. I was in a small room off the courtyard of the hotel with a skylight, and everything was very serviceable and well-equipped. The hotel is close to the train station, and it’s only a short walk to sites like the Palais des Papes but it’s very quiet. I would highly recommend staying here.

This is the best value hotel in the best location! You’re close to everything without being on a main road and you’re steps away from some fabulous restaurants in hidden alleys and squares. The hosts do everything they can to make you comfortable and you must listen to their restaurant recommendations as they are spot on. Breakfast is plentiful and excellent value too! We were here for four nights in a big room that had everything we needed and was quite spacious. This is an authentic hotel that gives you a homely feel.

Unique hotel that I really enjoyed. The art in the room was sensual and gave a very nice atmosphere. I appreciated that the shower and toilet were separated by their own rooms. It was not something I am use to but I like it. The hotel is on a quiet street walking distance to the train station and the Irish pub which is such a fun time. The owner Patrice was very helpful, kind, spoke excellent English AND Greek! ;) I really enjoyed my Stay here.

Amazing small 2 stars hotel directly in the city centre of Avignon near the Gare Central inside the city walls. The rooms are spacious and have air-conditioning. Everything was very clean. The hotel is privately owned and the owners are very helpful with everything you might need. Breakfast can be eaten in a nice little yard with a small fountain. The hotel is overall nicely decorated with art and movie/theatre posters. Almost every monument or museum is no further than a 15 min walk away. A safe underground parking lot is 3 min away (P Jean Jaures) though it is not affiliated with the hotel in any way. Lots of nice restaurants directly around the corner. The optional at the hotel breakfast includes fresh croissants and is definitely worth it.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The location is great and the owner is so helpful and nice. The room was so clean and comfortable, we also had nice garden view from our window. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Avignon.

I spent seven blissful days at Hotel Colbert in late June 2023, shortly before the big festival. The hotel is beautiful, with a throwback feel, a winding staircase, engaging art, and a peaceful outdoor courtyard for breakfast. The weather was such that I was able to sit outside, though the indoor dining area is also lovely. My room was large and the value excellent. But most rare was the expertise and kindness of the hotelier, Patrice, who has operated the Colbert for 23 years. I relied on his advice to visit neighboring towns, including Carpentras, Orange, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Arles and Isle sur la Sorgue. With a few words from me about my tastes, he perfectly suggested places and attractions. He also recommended stellar restaurants nearby and made reservations on my behalf. His supporting staff were excellent. The location couldn't be better -- a quiet street adjacent to a park, very close to the tourist office, post office, rail and bus stations, and a coin laundry. The Colbert is an easy walk to the principal attractions in Avignon. Oh, and if you like, ask Patrice to show you the photo of him with Rick Steves, who began recommending the hotel shortly after Patrice rehabilitated it 20-plus years ago. And make sure to make friends with his polite little terrier, Bonnie, who couldn't be more cute.
