I was having dinner with my family on Wednesday evening and found this gem. We ordered four two courses dinner with one moelleux a la creme de marron. My overall impression is that this is an authentic French restaurant with a modern twist. The staff is super friendly and we had no problem with the communication even if i speak poor French. As for our diner, the food is beautifully executed especially for the source, which I believe is the essence of French cuisine. The porc and the fish are cooked perfectly which demonstrated a mastery of cookery skill. One humble suggestion is that the fish scale and bone should have been removed more throughout as they really hurt the texture of the filet. The moelleux a la creme de marron tastes lovely but the plating seems a little bit disoriented. I would Highly recommend the coquilles saint-jacques. 10/10.

Super friendly staffs. One of the staffs speaks very good English so there’s no problem communicating. The food was absolutely amazing. We love everything we ordered. The pork starter was stunning! It was the best pork I’ve ever had. It’s definitely worth the price with such high quality of food. We enjoyed our time here very much.

Petit Grand is on a delightful church square, amid plane trees, on the south end of old town Avignon. The concept of tapas and other more traditional menu items is good. The service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was severely lacking. I found the food fairly bland, though the sauce for my wife's potato tapas, patatas brava, did have a nice kick. My greens were good as was the poitrine of porc. Unfortunately, my filet was subpar. It was fatty and stringy and nearly impossible to cut. This made it hard to chew, so much so that I had to discreetly spit the last piece into my napkin as I was not going to be able to swallow it comfortably. If they could up the execution of their food, this would be a great spot.

Delicious. Dorade, creamed polenta, asparagus. All my favorite foods on one plate. Lots of other options and friendly staff.

Très très très bien! This was such a lovely experience - food was fresh, interesting and refined and the waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Best restaurant I have experienced in France so far.

Take your money elsewhere if you care about value for your money. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, best thing to have there is water. They think that a ceviche is cold tomato sauce with three small pieces of fish. And that this monsterity should cost €14. Patatas Bravas is also not patatas bravas. It’s simply pan fried patatas. Service is rather slow as well even by French standards.

Great food and service and very accommodating of those who do not speak French. Multiple staff members speak very good English and were helpful in navigating the menu and making recommendations. We ate here twice over 3 days in Avignon and recommend the restaurant.

Exceptional restaurant, great service from all staff including the owner who quite rightly proud of what they have achieved. Food was superb, good choice of tapas or plate style. Cheeseboard was top quality, great choice of wines and aperitifs. Great location for lunch or dinner. Many thanks.

Very good restaurant with great staff! The place is really central and busy with lots of people and music during the festival d’avignon but the service is really thoughtful and fast, I have celiac disease and they were able to understand all my needs and suggest the right dishes and I must say Ihad plenty of choice. Our waiter was really nice and helpful, food was good and price also very good! Totally recommended.

Situated just a block off the main street and on a beautiful square/triangle the Petit Grand offers full meal menus/a la carte and petit or tapas sized plates . We had great service and truly excellent food. The wine list has a wide selection of Cotes du Rhone area wines at very reasonable prices. Our best Avignon meal by far...we'll be returning next time, for sure. Date of visit: June 2021

We checked the review and came to this restaurant. Ordered a beef, Mushroom risotto main dish and Pork Belly appetiser. We asked for a medium rare beef but I think I would ask for a medium next time. The side dish (potato & spinach) was really good. Mushroom risotto - if you’re looking at an aldante version, you would be disappointed but because we prefer a softer risotto, we liked it. The pork belly was the highlight of the night. Loved it along with the greens and the humus together.

Fantastic food and really excellent service. The waiters were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Lovely quiet location. Highly recommended!

Experience with mixed feelings... The food was good. The atmosphere was nice at start with live music, sitting on the terrace first time in Avignon. Then, something unbelievable happened - our daughter has been agressed by a crazy lady who did not want to leave even if we tried to ignore her. The staff of the restaurant have seen the situation and did NOTHING. In the end, the lady had thrown on my husband some "compote des pommes " as, obviously, he tried to protect our daughter. We decided to leave and asked for the bill and, surprise, we paid the full bill even if the kids did not consumed everything from their kids menu. I would have expected at least a gesture from their side... Later edit: I do not consider that the terrace of a restaurant is "on the street".
