A must visit if in the area. Very interesting, we hired a guide for 2 hours @ 500TL well worth the investment for what you get back in information. Make sure you purchase the ticket to visit the Terrace Houses exhibit. The price for both Ephesus and the terrace house was 160TL each. We spent a total of 5 hours looking around and taking lots of pictures. We walked up with the guide and then back down by our selves. We used the bus system to get here but there are taxis that will take you for price of 50 euro's. There are no toilets inside the site, so you need to go before you entering the park. 3btraveler

Awesome structure. The magnificent theater of Ephesus is a beautifully preserved and very impressive building. This structure, built of marble, has a width of 145 metres, and the height reached up to 30 meters. When operating at full capacity, it could accommodate 24,000 spectators.

Must-see attraction when in the area! It exceeded my expectations. It would have been nice to visit with a guide but you can also ask for a free audio guide when buying tickets. It does get hot here but there are places to buy drinks and snacks on either end and also one place in the middle by the library. There are trees and spots throughout that help provide shade when touring. It is best to go early or late in the day. The only thing we wish they had was an evening hour in the summer where you could be there for golden hour.

Alert ⚠️ slippery floors and streets. Can not emphasize enough how careful you need to be when walking through the whole city. Marble paving and rocks throughout the whole city. It was an amazing experience I did not expect. Learning the local stories of this place and relearning what you are taught in school.

I have to say this place was incredible. Way bigger than I thought with so much to see and was magical walking through this historic site. Definitely recommend to go check it out, but try to get there before the bus rush so you can have the place more to yourself and more quiet.

What a beautiful and fascinating place to visit. Someone advised us that we should enter through the North-West entrance and I’m glad we did because bus tour groups get dropped off at the upper entrance. We also made sure to get there early because it definitely got crowded later in the day. It’s a destination not to be missed for sure.

One of the best historical sites you should see in Turkey. 🎭 This ancient theater has been preserved and maintained very well. It has a breathtaking view up facing the ancient ruins and beautiful forest 🌳 If you have a museum card which allows you to enter pretty much all museums in Turkey, you’ll be able to skip the long queue and yet will pay less.

Amazing!! One of the most impressive ancient sites I have visited. The library is out of this world. We stayed for around 2/3 hours to properly see everything. The audio tour will provide you with some good information regarding the sites you visit. I would also recommend getting tickets for the Terrace Houses. We were so impressed by the frescoes and mosaics. Definitely worth the extra lira (if you buy the combined ticket at the gate, you get a little discount in comparison to buying the ticket inside).

A most to see in Turkey, Fantastic and unique historical site. You will need to have a professional guide to explain meticulously the historical background of each monument and place. It is highly recommended to go either in early spring or in fall. We experienced a 37 degree Celsius during our 3 hours visit and were exhausted. Don’t forget to wear long sleeve’s shirt and be equipped with a large hat. Having water with you is a most.

This place is beautiful, well worth seeing. If you don’t get a tour guide I definitely recommend at least reading and watching a few YouTube videos about it beforehand just to be able to appreciate the significance of the theatre and the ancient city of Efes. I wasn’t impressed by the 70₺ audio guide. 120₺ entrance (April 2022) you can also enter with a museum card (70₺) if you are a resident or citizen of Turkey.

A place good to know the ancient history and make good photos. Need to wear good sneakers and a hat or cap as well as glasses to prevent the sunshine. Good for walking. Outside the museum got some shops and a market place to eat.

Spectacular Turkish ruin. The theatre and the main thoroughfare in marble is a highlight. Check out the working toilets! A little close to your neighbor I should say! They do small re-enactments in full costume. There is a modest museum at the site as well.

Beautiful, historic, you can feel the ambient of an ancient city. Advice: dont go there during summer as is can be very hot! If you still go, be prepared with parasol, light white long sleeve shirt and a lot of water...

Ancient ruins of the Roman Empire. Restored partially covering the time from cleopatra, Augustus, Titus, & Adrian. It was amazing to see the size of the agora and also the library. The two theatres show the power of the Roman Empire. I highly recommend for all the passionate of history. Also get a guide as it will be better as the reading can be quite long. Plan 3 hours to do everything with time

I’ve been to a lot of ruins but ancient ephesus is the best of all of them. The size is unbelievable. They have only excavated approximately 20% of this place and is still overwhelming. I would get there first thing as some days can be quite crowded. Make sure you wear good shoes and bring water.

Nice sunny ☀️ weather, you pay 💰 per person 28.71 euros 💶 if you get the deal. Parking 🅿️ cost 💲 around 3€ There are a small market with lots of options. We did all the walking around in 3 hours but this will definitely depend on you. January is great as there are not many tourists and prices of hotels are cheaper.

A most amazing piece of history. The new interactive mesum I think it's a must. Take your time and try and get there early, it gets very busy

Amazing, very beautiful site. No waiting at the entry gate because we were early. No drone filming allowed without applying for permission in advance. The terrace houses is completely covered and cost extra, -1 for that.

I visited there with a tour guide, and my tour was very good. The entrance fee was included. Great learning experience from the 13-14th century.

Me and my husband visited with a tour guide who spoke to us about the history of Ephesus. It was a very cool place to see. We came during the colder months (January) and our tour guide said that was the best time just due to less crowds. We were able to take some pictures in front of the Library of Celsus with no people in the background.

When in selcuk you cannot avoid Ephesus. We had a turkey museum pass and entered at 8. We had ephesus to ourselves for half an hour! Loved it and cannot wait to return!!

Fascinating how much of Ephesus has been and still actively being excavated! The arena is vast and the acoustics are amazing! Well known artists have performed there (Sting, Pavarotti, Elton John…). Tour was perfect!

We had a great time visiting Ephesus! We walked from the top of the city down to the bottom port. It took us a couple of hours at a slow pace. We visited the terrace houses (for an extra entrance fee - 170TL) The weather was amazing and it wasn’t too busy so it was a great experience. I would recommend visiting with a guide as understanding how it was use make the whole place come to life. As in most sites there’s was lots of very cute cats and dogs. The toilet were clean although we only used the ones after leaving the site. There’s also a little drink shot close to the Celsius library.

Very good place, once the foothold of the Roman's and the Greeks, was the most prosperous city at that time. It's a long walk, the sight seeing takes approximately 2hrs. Watch your step, as the flooring is slippery (take care of ur children) Tip for travellers - If u visit turkey better take a museum pass for 2500 TRY, this will enable u to see all museums like Ephesus, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace etc.. so better stand in line and buy this pass once only

Really cool to come and see in person!! It’s really big with so many steps. I think they put performances on there to. Great for taking photos. There are so many steps but be careful when walking around cause it’s really slippery. Overall really cool place to look at!

One of the largest archaeological sites in the world. A marvelous feat of architecture as it is situated in the best possible location for the best acoustic function. Don't forget....those times no digital technology was in operation....only mathematical thinking 🤔 well worth a visit 🙂

It was a nice experience. Something unique, beautiful place. You can feel the history. It was a bit hot, 40 degrees Celsius, but it was worth it. Museum pass awards discount in inside shops for coffee, water, juices etc.

There quite a similar type of such theatre in Europe such as Italy. Nothing very spectacular and quite a well kept. As reported by many others .. do take good care when walking around the grandstand as it is quite steep and raining could be slippery. Also the flooring being built as pave way using marble can be a challenge when rains.

Was very cool! So hot that I had to leave pretty quick though, will be coming back when it is cooler. I saw people buying tickets and there was a line, but I got in instantly with a museum pass.
