One way to take you back in time is to visit here! One of the most spectacular archaeological open air museums I've ever seen. Great care and attention has clearly been taken to expose this centuries old masterpiece. It's a true saying, they just don't make things like this now which is a great shame. The grandeur and historical presence is utterly magnificent and should be top of hour list of places to visit when in Ephesus. The great theatre is mind blowing!

A must place to go if visiting the area. Try and avoid the summer months as it'll be very hot. Best time to go is Nov - March (for cooler days and less visitors). Pay extra to visit the Terrace Houses exhibition, it is incredible! NB: there are no toilets inside the site, so you need to go before you enter.

A great site with stunning history. To walk in this area is to re live an old age of significance. Ephesus or Efes as known locally, is a worthy place to visit. Plenty of parking, with surrounding shops and food cafes. Various choices of ticket to enter with modern conveniences on the site. If it is hot, bring a hat as it is a very open space. Payment is cash or card. The whole site is over an hour to walk around, 2 hours or more if stopping to take in the moments.

Wow what an amazing and vast ancient Greek city. Its amazing to try and understand how they lived their lives thousands of years ago and how important these individual theatres, libraries, gates, monuments, fountains, temples and tombs were to their way of life. The scale of the place and the remains structures is amazing as is the detail in the intricate carvings on each of the buildings. Loved my visit.

Ephesus is one of the best preserved (and also partially rebuilt) ancient sites in Turkey and a definite must-visit. A vast area which can be explored in its entirety in about 3 hours, but choosing a day that is not so hot is important, as temperatures can easily reach 40 °C. It is absolutely stunning experiencing the massive amphitheater as well as the remains of the library in person, or walking along the path which once led to the port of Ephesus. Although we went there on the weekend, the wait time for buying tickets was fairly short. Would 100% recommend visiting, even multiple times as excavations are still going on.

Gorgeous site to see especially in good weather. Makes the walking along the scenery & ruins an enjoyable occasion. A little patience (and offpeak crowds) will get you really nice pictures. Don't forget your water & camera for the trip ! P.S. start at the Upper Gate and walk downwards. You can then exit and head to the main road. (to get a bus running the Selcuk - Kusadasi route)

We parked at the top entrance and would recommend that whichever entrance you start from, get there early! We arrived at around 11am on an April morning and it was quiet. As we left at around 3pm it was very busy. Seemed like all the coaches arrive around 2pm. Guessing this place will be crazy bonkers in the summer. We didn't, but I think using a guide is a good idea, if you want a more detailed tour. The site is really good, well preserved and very special. Well worth a visit.

Excellent experience visiting Ephesus! No waiting in line, ticket was 250 TRY a person to see everything. We spent about two hours walking around without a guide but I’m sure you could do a half day tour learning about everything. There are some English speaking guides that wait at the entrance if you want to try to do your own private tour. Easy to find parking, it was 20 TRY cash if you go on your own. They have a few places outside to buy souvenirs, food and drinks. There is also one stand inside that sells refreshments.

March 16, 2021 A thorough walk through the Ephesus archaeological site. We had our own guide who guided us along the way. The Greek influence and remains are unmistakable. Coffee on the way not too great but the staff was very friendly.

Truly magnificent! Very well preserved Greco-Roman buildings that hold so much history. Recommend visiting this place early at 8am to avoid majority of tourists. Thursdays and Fridays are less full I heard, as cruises don't come on those days.

This historical place is worth seeing. İzmir is a really hot city so you should wear hat. Or you may take an umbrella. Water is important situation too. Have a nice trip!

For history lovers its like heaven, its so nice if you forget about people around you. It feels like you have come across greek era. My only complaint is there is less number of sitting arrangement or literally no facility. As aged people might not be able to walk all the way to exit in the scorching heat. Also the fees of mostly all museum in turkey is more than double as compared to last year so I think they should make some improvements.

Absolutely wonderful historical site. It's well preserved with huge history behind each corner. Roman and Greek heritage in middle of Türkiye. It can easily be reached from the town of Selçuk by minibus where you can spend a night or two to see the archaeological area. Tours are avaliable if you prefer not to walk alone, guides give the background story and it may easier to visit all places. Entrance was 700TL for foreigners but if you are a local or a resident in Türkiye, get yourself a Müzekart with only 65TL that allows you to visit everywhere in İzmir and surroundings!

The site was amazing. We didn’t have a lot of time to spent their but we could cover the main things. The walk pathways were will maintained but you need to have shoes with a good grip because some parts were really slippery especially some marble stairs and pavements.

One of the must-see Turkish archaeological sites. You cannot imagine how was the ancient civilization established here. For the sake of enjoyment and less energy to burn, please start from this gate (south gate) and walk downwards to the main entrance gate. If you rent a car, park your car at the main gate (north gate), take a horse carriage (200 TL) to the upper gate and start your imagination. Do not forget to bring a lot of water, an umbrella and -for sure- your camera.

The best preserved ancient Roman ruin I have ever seen and I have seen many over the years. Be sure to hire a good guide that knows the history. Pay extra to see the town hose excavations.

We went in the off-season, so nothing was crowded. Was amazed by the size. If you have time, pay to go into the Terrace Houses. They were awesome to see.

Walk were people lived and worked more than 2000 years ago, see very interesting social practices and houses, the scale of this is increadable, how well it was preserved is amaizing. This is a must see, bring your walking shoes. Entrance 1250 tl for a combo ticket, go on spoil yourself, you deserve it.

Mind blowing. Definitely recommend visiting and don’t miss the extra part under the roof, well worth the extra admission fee. We visited in December so not very busy 👍

I mean the place is full of history and I recommend to read the panels or have a guide for a deeper experience which we did have. We also had the chance to come just after a rainy day so, it was more cleaner "according to our guide". My main issue is the ticket price is quite expensive.

Absolutely stunning place to visit with lots of historical architecture to take in. It's advised to wear decent footwear as it can be slippery in some places but don't let that put you off. You would need a couple of hours at least to to take it all and there are so many ruins still standing it is fantastic to see and try and imagine how life was there. Easy to walk through as it has a one way system and also has shops / toilets / refreshments at the end when you leave the site. It is definitely well worth a visit just to tick off your bucket list of archeological sites.

This place is huge and wonderful. I very much enjoyed walking around. Make sure you have water and hat, although there was a food stall inside. Best to visit as early as possible to avoid the crowd.

A magnificent archeological site. Unique as it will reward the visitor by providing the feeling of the ancient Greek glory. Also includes a lot of the Roman empire remains, which are a significant footprint in the history of the place.

It has been a trip to history. It looked like a trip in Rome, but far away from the traffic. Here you can see how big the Roman empire was. This place will be kept in my heart Forever. And for the new generation (including my own) , this is not a place for making a photo book, sometimes hot, for social networks and few likes; bring respect.
