Lovely old fashioned bar/restaurant very close to the picturesque Balat area of Istanbul

As a group of 4, we stopped by for a coffee break here and ordered from the menu. On a wednesday afternoon with NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER, we were told that they do not take coffee orders at this time of the day but would make an exception. In addition to coffee, we received frequent stares of disturbance as if telling us to leave. The interior was decorated in vintage furniture that many over the age of 30 would find familiar. (There are numerous other antique/design cafes around.) Coffee is standard machine-made black or Turkish coffee. Prices in general are higher than similar places in the same district. For a place that claims to serve as a restaurant only (but might make you a favor if they feel generous), the hot beverages page on the menu is confusing and prices are exceptionally high. Yes, the decoration is nice but the manners of the staff are not so you cannot enjoy your stay. You end up with over-priced standard drinks!

Cute and cosy place with a great view of the golden horn. It has two floors. The top floor contains big tables good for groups. Its decoration consists of antiques which creates a homey atmosphere. The food is good, there is brunch on sundays. They have soft background music. Families come here but its not noisy.

Very nice place to have a delicious dinner with your friends or your partner. Live Turkish and foreign songs (soft music) of the trio on the stage made it better. The service was top notch, all waiters were very helpful and understanding. The design and ambiance was also very well adjusted, considering this place was once an ironworks factory. Not too cheap, but considering all pluses I sincerely recommend this place for a nice evening.

Hands down the Weirdest experience I have had in Istanbul. First of all we were late to meet friends there and it took them 20 minutes to bring a menu in an almost empty restaurant. Then when the food came it was so salty I couldn't eat it. I ordered the fettunici alfredo. It was fettuccine with mushroom soup mix with cream... Anyways she brings a comment card for all of us to fill out expecting a good review. So I decided to leave an honest review here. We live in the area... I don't get why people go here the déco is just as weird as the experience...

Got a nice view but there are some problems. From the beginning, tea glasses waitress brought weren't clean at all. They got leftover stuff in them from the previous guests. Next thing, we ordered a single course of breakfast with two sets of utensils. What came up was a single course of breakfast with some additions but by no means a breakfast for two that we got billed for before leaving. In addition to that eggs came up burned on the bottom. Overall we weren't pleased. That place is expensive for what they serve and terrible for their hospitality. You could get a better bang for your buck at anywhere else.

An eclectic mix of paintings and antiques create an old world atmosphere with a modern twist. The food is excellent, as is the service. The classic Turkish breakfast is faultless, with exceptional views of Golden Horn from the upstairs dining area and the first floor terrace.

Lovely location in trendy area off the beaten track :) Food was really great but the place needs better cleaning (so much dust) and improve its maintenance :)

I've seen this place before, but did not go upstairs, where the restaurant part is. There is also a bar there with a cosy atmosphere. However my impression is that it's a special, romantic and probably quite expensive place. Ground floor is like an antique store. I would suggest to try at least once. It's very close to Fener Patriarchate and surrounded by several historical landmarks, most of which are restorated by IMM Miras. #ibbmiras

Lovely decoration in this artist owned restaurant and very good food. Staff were very kind as they served us lunch at a very late hour when we were the only customers. Very fresh anchovies and freshly cooked pasta.
