Went to Ark bar with the lads, poured pints in the pool, sang rock chants all night long and we had a race to the end of the pool, it was the greatest horseplay of all time

Great music and great place to party... but only if your brought your own drinks! Drinks are heavily watered down and are much cheaper on the road then here. Locals also seem to get actual legit drinks and at a better price. You wouldn't see the bars in London giving watered down drinks or charging less/more depending on the clientel. It seems this place takes advantage of the travellers coming to the island.

This could be the most popular beach bar in Samui Island so far. However, it’s not really that good. It’s an okay place for me. The service was okay, not the best and sometimes bad. The drinks were okay, not special, the type of drink you can get from any random bar. They have the cool fires show just likes others bar. The music was regular commercial music you can hear from Khaosan road. Probably the location and decoration that’s make it more interesting than others. It a perfect bar for people who looking to get wasted and dance with friends.

We booked this resort because my brother has stayed here twice before. He was single both times. We are a couple and enjoy other entertainment. This is the perfect place for party goers. However having said that many families have kids that also come here. They swim and enjoy the music with the rest. The resort itself is private but the pool area is open to all on the island. So this means good luck finding a sun lounger or seats by the pool. We stayed here for 6 nights and not once did we have the chance to lay by the pool as all loungers were taken by non guests. You can reserve some tables etc but you need to pay. This is a very big downside to this resort. If you have problems sleeping make sure you get a room closer to reception as the other rooms closer to the pool will have music up to 2am. The rooms are great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are 2 🏧's here one by reception and one by the pool. Travel agent by reception who can help with all excursions, renting a scooter (must do), taxis and even laundry services. Restaurants are 10meters away from reception and there are plenty to choose from. For breakfast I recommend Tabula Rasa (please see pictures) they serve the best breakfast on the Island. Big portions and the service 5star. Leave reception and turn left about 2 doors down. For dinner I also recommend Pad Thai for seafood and Thai food. Great atmosphere and great service at a very good price. Leave reception and turn right. About 3 doors down. The above is just my personal take on the resort and the surrounding area.

It was such an amazing experience celebrating new years with the club. The only disappointing thing was they priced the outdoor seats at such a high price as well. The best fireworks they guys did and the fire show was phenomenal. Only one of their staff was more courteous and trained too

Some of the greatest horseplay of all time. I saw men bleeding blue and absolutely sending it. Please god I'll get over again to reclaim the Ko Samui Cup.

Room has been freshly renovated, friendly service and location is right in the middle of Chaweng area. Close to all the shops, restaurants and mall. Great place if you want a vibrant and lively experience. There is a second pool currently under renovation and will only add to this ArkBar's appeal.

i stayed at the ark bar for 6 nights in late january. it’s in a good location…the hotel was simple/plain and clean. replenished my water each day. i stayed on the 9008 block which is last room by bar. It’s noisy till 2 am and the lobby told me this but i stay up and party till the wee hours so it was a big deal to me.. Nice hotel and good location..4.5/6

Drinks with music in the background and a great fire show. I was there during the week and it was full of people and had a nice atmosphere. You can tip the artists for their great efforts and show. Was truly special.

Although the original Ark Bar is still closed a part of it opened up as Surf Up. It's all spread out on the beach, the music pumps catchy beats with a good base, beers cost 100THB and there are plenty fire shows every night. Enjoy and relaxxxxx!

Some of these shows can be intrusive however this one was very good. The performers are very professional and they even try to get the crowd involved. The place only serves drinks.

A hip place for party people, you can get a lot of alcohol and other stuff there... Lots of beach vendors with all kinds of colorful stuff they offer you, of course it's all a bit of a tourist trap too. 😉 The modern music is not too loud, the service staff is attentive and the fire show in the evening is spectacular... A nice place to meet other People and make party!

Love the beach bar. Nice location. Booked room for first time, its clean, big, comfortable. Noisy but, that's normal, its a beach club. So can say only good things. The reception, different story. When we checked in, the "assistant manager" who claims to be the manager had an argument, bad attitude, unprofessional. After 3 days we checked out, she started having bad attitudes with me too. While she was not even assisting me. The lady who helped me was trying to figure out the payments. Other poeple also made comments that she is definitely not in the right position. Maybe have a friendly face where people check in, will make a huge difference

Fabulous beach club with all the amenities! Amazing, large pool with swim up bar and table seating in the pool. Tons of tables and chairs, couches, day beds, sun loungers. Staff was not hovering but always available, service was fast and on point. Food was good, drinks great. Highly recommend for a beautiful day out.

I was here last summer and found it a nice little beach bar with great vibe, bad cocktails and fire shows. Came back just today and was shocked with the humongous beach club that was put there in such a short time. The local vibe is totally gone and it’s just a beach club like so many, with a minimum spend… Sorry but for this you don’t go to Thailand, this is mass tourism.

Sitting now since almost one hour with the Drinks List in my hand on my sunbed. Asked several times the orange dressed service people if I can place my order - BUT nothing happened so far. I think I have to change the location and go to SEEN Beach Club or Love Island Beach Club. I don’t want to die on my hard earned vacation because liquid supply chain doesn’t work 😆

I am unsure if I actually went here. The signs said Arkbar, but it did not match google maps location. My friend whom had been before said it was not the same location. Hopefully someone can clarify the exact location (unless it’s correct). I had a great time in this area regardless of the name.

One of the places that made my trip to Thailand a trip I ll cherish and remember my entire life! We went here at night as we heard there was a beach side pool party. But unfortunately it wasn’t there on that day so we decided to just chill. The food was great ( maybe a bit on the expensive side) the drink options were good and reasonably priced. And then the fire show went on, and it was spectacular. I have never seen something like that before and the way they could control it was amazing! I just loved seeing that. Totally worth a visit if you are around!

One of the Covid 'casualties' on Chaweng Beach. A beach part icon that's closed. The upside is that it looks like they are taking the opportunity to renovate the beachfront bar area. Hopefully tourism will recover soon so places like this can reopen again.

Great bar has everything ,could stay there all day and have fireshows one of the best club's on koh Samui .

Good atmosphere with the fire show but expensive cocktails compared to surrounding bars and they don’t even fill the glass to the top… ordered a margarita and received half a glass full. Also the waitress was very impatient with us and then started arguing with a colleague right next to our table. She was very impatient when we were trying to pay too. Ruined the vibe quite a bit so we didn’t stay past 9.

Just went to the bar/club area nice setting. Menu slightly pricey but that’s to be expected this kind of place. Best fire show I have seen in a while worth going to see if you are in the area after dark.

nice beachside bar, we came in here to chill for the day. we got a wrist band with no idea of the meaning of it… we didn’t know if there was a minimum spend, no one communicated. the staff didn’t approach asking if we wanted drinks, which is ok; but they were falling over eachother there was so many of them so you would think the should’ve. the drinks are expensive and in plastic cups. the dj was good and the overall atmosphere was good, with clean facilities (toilets etc) and overall good vibe so 4 stars from me :) it is convenient to come in here when you aren’t a guest so thank you ark bar

New Year's Eve Chaos at ARKbar: A Night Gone Awry My experience at ARKbar on New Year's Eve started off with promise, but unfortunately, it turned into a night marred by several avoidable issues. The festivities kicked off well, and the atmosphere was lively, setting the stage for a memorable celebration. However, the evening took a drastic turn due to a series of glaring shortcomings. Firstly, the establishment was severely understaffed, leaving patrons waiting for extended periods for service. More critically, there was a complete lack of bouncers or any semblance of crowd control, leading to severe overcrowding. The venue, already fully booked, became inundated with thousands of additional attendees. The owners' apparent disregard for safety and comfort became glaringly evident as the night progressed. The consequence of this oversight became apparent after midnight when chaos ensued. The absence of crowd management led to confrontations, as some patrons treated reserved tables like contested territories. The bottleneck at the lone exit posed a serious safety hazard, and it's fortunate that no injuries occurred. It's disheartening to see an establishment compromise the safety and enjoyment of its patrons due to what appears to be a pursuit of profit over customer well-being. I would strongly advise against bringing your family to ARKbar, and personally, I won't be returning. The night's potential was overshadowed by mismanagement, and it's a regrettable way to usher in the new year.

Thank you ARKbar for hosting us on NYE with no cover or entrance fee. The party you put together was better than anything we have experienced in places like Tulum or Ibiza. The property is gorgeous and the staff are super helpful. Happy New Year🎊

The bar is in a top location . Double price for the drinks Fire show just in front of you The very annoying is all the sellers that pass maybe 50 times per hour . The bar is under reconstruction so expect to walk on debris to reach it . Only the beach part is working I suppose that it will be a unique experience when it will be fully open

Cool fun place, came for a beer early evening and ended up returning after dinner to dance on the beach until after 1 am. Great DJ, very vibey with plenty of people but a chilled atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced - 120 THB for a bottle of Chang if I recall correctly, and about 180 THB for a g&t. What’s not to like?

Starting with the positive impressions: Really nice club with good music and a hot fire show. BUT: We were there with six guys and none of us liked the cocktails, they were expensive and nearly disgusting. To reach the necessary 2.000 Baht minimum consumption for our table we ordered at last only beer and softdrinks. And the beach vendors are extremly annoying.

We arrived at 10:00 AM, when entering the place there was a big sign on the door reading "Outside food and drinks not allowed" with a guard who forced my partner to throw a cup of frozen yogurt which is completely understandable. The problem is when we tried to order food inside the staff said "sorry kitchen is closed" and to make things worst there was an alcohol ban in the country so no alcohol as well. Why waste people time and not place a warning side on the door saying "Sorry no food or hard drinks after 10:00 PM". The place inside is nice though with good music and fire shows, sadly we had to leave because we were hungry and looking forward to party.

Great bar and resort on the beach. We got henna tattoos from an artist that walks the beach. Great water view. About 100m from a great massage place - so soothing right there listening to the waves. You only need to spend a little at the bar to use their chairs but that is easy. The drinks are very good as is the food. Wait-staff is very good. Just tell your taxi or red truck driver and they'll drop you close. Beach vendors will continually talk to you but will not annoy you - we bought some simple bracelets and they're fine.

Been here a few times, both the restaurant at the front and the beach club at the back. Had the best Pad Thai! Came back at night for the beach club and walked straight out. There was a DJ but it was pretty quiet, and the crowd that was there was young and rowdy. Prefer this venue during the day time.

I came here for the bar. Absolutely phenomenal bar. I can recall the atmosphere here being unreal. I cannot recommend it more.

The place that music never stop! On the beach of this bar is the perfect place to see landing aircraft. Fire shows are great.

Nice beach club, for 500bht you get sunbed and access to pool and toilet facilities. When you buy drinks they take them off your 500bht deposit, so it costs nothing as long as you have a few drinks. They do charge 100bht extra for a towel with a 500bht deposit (refunded on return of towel). Lovely beach and pool area the staff were really nice too, music a bit loud and repetitive

Came to see the much hyped fire show. They must have had an off night. The food was mediocre and the fire show was a single dancer wandering out every 10-15 minutes and dancing for 30 seconds or so. Very lame. The show was supposed to start at 8:30. We got here at 8 and are leaving now at 9:15. Not a bad overall experience but a truly lame fire show.

Nice place for a drink on the beach. Decent fire dancing but lacks corigraphy. Prices are a bit high too, but you're paying for premium location as well.

Party spot for sure! We've stayed 2 different times and all experiences have been great. The bed in the Deluxe room was AMAZING! Food at the pool was ALWAYS great. The employees EVERY WHERE went above and beyond. Props to the servers at the pool..... things can get a little sideways during the day at the pool. Overall lots of fun.

Last stay in 2019..The reception specially the female manager was very rude with us.. The room very old.. Too noisy.. Not safe.. Will not repeat our stay with them
