The service rating is not for staff but for the facilities as part of the hotels service. This hotel could be a solid 4 stars and I'd still recommend it with a few caveats. First, our room was 2403, which is pretty much the last room on the floor with the pool and laundry. The laundry, apparently, is 24/7. Let me tell you, you can hear it. Clearly. All the change left in the pockets.... Secondly, the "coupons" they give you. First, you pay for them. If you book via a third party, it will say breakfast included. This means you paid extra for a 100 baht ($2.75) coupon. These coupons are misleading. The pricing structure of their "cafe" is horrid. The "meals" you can order are only for 24 hours in advance. Basically, it's deceptive as the pricing either leaves money on the table or means you have to pay more to use it effectively. Don't ever pay for "breakfast" included here. In short, this is a good spot if you don't avail of the coupons and your room is not near the 24/7 laundry room. Around $30 per night for the standard room WITHOUT coupon currently.

I am a picky person when it comes to hotel. But I cannot recommend this place enough. The receptionist is so nice and helpful with everything. The room is cleaned every day. Towels and bedsheets are changed as you wished. The cleanliness is superb . It is the best place to stay . We stayed for 9 nights and we did not get disappointed at all.

Great place to stay for the price. Our room was clean, spacious and very quiet. Only downside was a damp smell in the corridors and rooms, most likely form air conditioning. The pool is great and open until 10pm which was great after the night markets. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. They make great coffees on request, even with soy (provide yourself) Great location, central to the shopping mall, markets and beach.

It’s not possible to open the windows in the rooms which makes it super hard to dry any towels or swimwear and it smells really bad after a couple of days. On the last day we used the dryer to avoid mould formation. The rooms are small and there is only small space for a suitcases or Backpacks. The Wifi is good. On the first day I got stuck in the elevator so I took the stairs from that day on. The staff could be a little more friendlier. The pool is really dirty and could use some fresh water and floor cleaning. Also there are no sun beds at the pool so it’s not really inviting. Overall the hotel is perfect for one night.

Really lovely rooms, spacious and clean. Reception are helpful and polite. There's lots of food, drinks and bakery items available 24/7 to buy. Very central but quiet and away from the main busy road but within walking distance. Super nice chill out areas in the social area and the pool has a great view! Good value for money. Definitely recommend!

Great value for money. Coworking space was awesome. First room was very noisy as basically all the guests walked by and you could hear them. Also the shopping mall had live music that could be clearly heard to the room. Second room was better on terms of noise, but the bathroom smelled like vomit.

Nice hotel, better than most Ibis (coz Ibis concept is similar to Cosi) in Thailand. But be aware if you book the so called room with food and drink credit: as a chain hotel, I think the policy should be the same as in AoNang and Pattaya where I stayed before, and where the credit value is 200 baht per room. In Cosi Samui they give you only a 100 baht coupon, and insist that this is the same in their other hotels (not true). And this 100 baht is not even enough to buy a croissant and cappuccino, since their cafe's prices are very high (Chang beer is 75 while in the supermarket in the same complex which is managed by the same group it's 32 baht). Very deceiving...

This a revised review based on a second stay, now more than 8 nights here. The front desk staff are all excellent, super helpful and friendly. The pool was extremely dirty so that was a real disappointment. The room cleaners were also very sloppy. Our toilet was never cleaned and floors were always dirty. I thought this was a good deal, but I did more research after staying here for more than 8 nights and after I compared the quality of the pool and cleaning at Cosi, I think it's cheap b/c the quality is very low. Although it was convenient to stay here, I will probably not stay again next time in Samui when I come back in October.

Really lovely hotel for a good price. The walls are a bit thin, so unfortunately you can hear everything your neighbour is doing. I have removed one star because the tourist counter recommended a tour the ended up being a total scam (RS Ruangsri) she insisted that the tour would be safe and that it was a high quality tour. The tour was a total waste of time and on our way back home our boat ran out of fuel. We were stranded in the middle of the ocean for 30 minutes while waiting for help to come. Even if our boat didn’t have issues, I would have still given the tour a 1/5. You can look up other reviews for the travel company to see what to expect. Please don’t trust their recommendations, the “discount” they give you is not worth it. Also, don’t expect them to get a refund for you when things go wrong.

The good - Hotels design is unique. Although it looks like they went for the "lets maximize the number of rooms per square feet", they mostly did a good job and it offers a comfortable and young experience. Staff is mostly friendly and room is clean, most rooms offer a decent view. Location is great - right on the Chaweng but without the noise and hassle. The bad - The pool is a big let down, causing us to switch hotels and pay double for a hotel with a decent pool. Its very small, doesn't have beds (only bean bag chairs). There is no pool bar. There is no breakfast, but instead you get vouchers for 200 baht per person and can buy stuff from their in house store. Could be worse but there are very few healthy choices. Shower is too small. Rooms are not sealed off properly, so you hear every person walking by or doing something in adjacent rooms.

Stayed here for 4 nights with friends. Rooms were basic but tidy and clean. Some noise from other residents but it was expected due to the appeal for travellers in this hotel. Fresh linen daily. The beds were very comfy, I've slept in less comfy beds in 5 star hotels! At reception they have a 24hr shop where you can buy snacks and drinks. The staff on reception were pleasant. The area is great, situated just behind a shopping mall and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The beach is also less than 5 minutes walk. Definitely recommend for people travelling on a budget alone or with friends. Check in 3pm Check out 12pm

Amazing (!!!) location, comfortable rooms and the staff exceeds expectations! They helped me with everything I needed and even in an emergency, the team was just by my side, run the event and helped me solve all my problems. I have already recommended the hotel to everyone I know and I will continue to recommend it! Just perfect

Great stay at Cosi, clean rooms and lovely pool. Joy was particularly helpful and friendly, especially when we left our hair straightener in the room. Joy happily posted this to us without hesitation. A great service all round. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Koh Samui.

Stayed here Nov. 2023, out of all the places we stayed in Thailand, this was the best. Rooms were clean and very nice. Breakfast and convenience store in lobby are perfect. The staff were very helpful and nice. Located next to the shopping Center, kinda hard to get to hotel, but it’s still close to all the activities. Rooms were quiet. I honestly have no complaints about this place. The cost was reasonable for someone travelling with a mid range budget.

Rooms were clean and new. Staff was so funny and helpful! The location is great right in the centre. The only issue we had was the odd smell in the room. But the price was good and the beds comfy.

Room is like a dorm room. Nice strong shower. Didn't use the roof top pool. Like that is was next to the outdoor mall which it has supermarket and food court and shops. Beach is about 15 minutes walking to get to the main public beach entrance on a dirt road.

A Delightful Extended Stay at Cosi Hotel in Koh Samui I recently had the pleasure of an extended two-month stay at Cosi Hotel in Koh Samui, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the moment I checked in until the day I departed, the entire experience was nothing short of fantastic. One of the standout features of my stay was the exceptional customer service provided by Joy at the front desk. Joy's professionalism and dedication to ensuring a seamless experience for guests were truly commendable. Her warm demeanor, attentiveness to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond made my stay at Cosi Hotel even more enjoyable. It's rare to encounter such a customer-centric approach, and Joy's presence undoubtedly added a positive touch to my overall experience. Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to the young lady responsible for cleaning my room each day. Her professionalism and friendliness were evident in every interaction. Coming back to a spotless and well-organized room after a day of exploring Koh Samui made me appreciate the hard work and attention to detail she consistently demonstrated. It's the little things that make a big difference, and her efforts did not go unnoticed. I want to extend my thanks to the entire team at Cosi Hotel. The seamless collaboration and dedication to providing top-notch service did not go unnoticed. Each staff member played a crucial role in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests. Overall, my two-month stay at Cosi Hotel in Koh Samui was a delightful experience, thanks in no small part to the outstanding service provided by Joy at the front desk and the diligent young lady who took care of my room. I highly recommend Cosi Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming home away from home in Koh Samui. Special thanks to the great manager, Taki, for leading such a dedicated and customer-focused team. Taki's leadership is reflected in the high standards of service throughout the hotel. Cheers to the entire team for making my stay truly memorable!

This hotel is exactly as it says in its name, cosy! We stayed here for three nights, and thoroughly enjoyed all three. The main entrance offers a 24/7 cafe, with muffins, pastries, pies, drinks etc readily available whenever you want them- I was delighted to see the option for lactofree milk which meant I could enjoy my morning coffee and some cereal! There are many comfy seating options, and upstairs there are hammocks, sofas and hanging nets; a very comfy place to sit for a few hours in the evening. The hotel is quite big and can feel like a bit of a maze trying to find your room, but once you know your way it’s easy, and well signposted. The rooms are very clean, some of the cleanest I’ve seen while visiting Thailand in fact! My only problem is that we kept having geckos to visit in our room, which I understand can be to expected in Thailand, however being deathly afraid of them made it difficult for me to fully relax, and I couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. The hotel also has a pool and lounge area upstairs, and a laundromat also! 5 stars from us, lizards included! We would stay again.

Nice hotel with modern small rooms, clean, reasonable price. Share the same location with Central Samui shopping mall, therefore it is very convenient to stay here as you will have almost everything you need.

I had a great stay at this hotel tucked behind a bustling shopping center. The convenient proximity to a food market made dining a breeze. The highlight was definitely the rooftop pool, offering a relaxing escape. Highly recommended for a peaceful yet convenient getaway.

The room was ok, you don't get tea or coffee you also don't get toiletries and for the price of the rooms you should be getting something. Service is ok. we left our room 3 days earlier than we should've and didn't get asked why or what was wrong. Location for us was not good it's next to the shopping centre which is good but the area around it was not for us.

Such an amazing hotel with incredible staff! I stayed at this location only for one night and I instantly regretted not staying longer! The hotel itself is situated right next to the Central Samui mall and only a few meters from the beach! The rooms are very comfortable and also very modern, which helps you feel extremely comfortable from the moment you walk in. My girlfriend also left her pandora bracelet in the room and without hesitation the staff found it in the room and put it into a parcel and shipped it overnight to us in Phuket! Honest staff and a beautiful facility! Don't think twice about booking this spot!

I've never stayed in a place that felt more like a student halls of residence! It's a decent budget hotel, though like most places on Samui, it's not as cheap as you'd expect (actually like Manchester or Berlin prices). No toiletries. Overpriced drinks. Showers have better pressure than most on the island. The room was modern looking but a strong damp odour.

Great spot! The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, aircon worked great. The pool area was nice, it doesn't get total sunshine which is perfect for spending a whole day out there without burns! Laundry is close to the pool, was never packed. Location is great. Close enough to restaurants, shops, the beach, etc. Free parking was a plus! Breakfast is just okay, more of a snack than a meal. The layout can be a bit confusing at first, but there's maps/signs everywhere to help guide you.

Good value for money. Central location close to beach, bars & shopping. Rooms are clean. Comfortable bed. Minimalistic decoration, but still everything you need. Powerful air conditioning. A fridge is a plus. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the best hotels within its category.

Just a super fancy hostel with private bathrooms, a totally different vibe compared to other places on the island.

  • 2/5 Geert van O. 1 year ago on Google
Bad experience. Staff hardly speaks English. Small and not really clean rooms. Even considering the popular price a No Go. (and still waiting for a response on a serious request...)

The room here was fantastic and exactly what I needed for a comfortable rest. I previously stayed a couple nights at Lub D hostel and it was 700 bhat for a shared dorm. Social but crowded and so I booked here and it was worth the little bit extra for the comfortable spacious bed, great shower and lovely pool and laundry facilities to relax and recover in my own space. Staff were very helpful and kind and helped get a ferry to koh Tao at a good and reasonable price. It also had a nice communal space for socialising. Would absolutely stay again 👍.

Crowded, thin walls, so you can hear everything in the hall and the rooms nearby. More expensive then other similar and even better option. Also somehow the price is even bigger if you just walk in with no booking (and they have enough rooms available).

As coffee place. A great place to work overall. Good internet, is 24h. Does not have much tables. There is a lot of People going back and forth, because the place is also an hotel.

Best hotel in samui until 1500BAHT Per night. The hotel is clean and very modern. This is a new hotel so they still fixing things but I didn't notice that. If the prices remains under 1500Baht, I highly recommend. The bed was comfortable and clean, the shower was very good I loved to get a shower there. The staff was nice and helpful. The location is amazing, on a big mall called festival. A lot of great restaurants from all over the world. 3 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from ark bar and mango club.

Strathcona Hotel - location, location, location Room was clean and in a great location easily accessible to various city sights restaurants and shops. Staff was wonderful ,some guy really nice and were the shining highlights. Check in and out were easy. Like I say - good location! Room was small but fine for a solo traveler. [Maybe they have larger rooms.] Wi-Fi worked fine.Breakfast is extra but worth the money. The only real downside was the lack of storage and overall size of the room.

  • 3/5 Raymond Y. 4 years ago on Google
International socket with 2 USB ports on the wall is a nice touch. Emergency call button in the toilet is ensuring. Safe deposit box, big TV and a fridge. Breakfast is NOT included but if you don't like what they offer at the cafe, you can easily get food at the mall or across the street. The blinds cut off the sun effectively, but they need to have a way to tie it down so it does not rattle with the airflow from the airconditioning. New, nice and clean. Walking distance to the mall, supermarket, food court and restaurants. Roof top pool is refreshing and different, but a little small. Laundry mat is available.

  • 4/5 Gamsai S. 4 years ago on Google
The room is clean and cozy. Cool environment & Staff are helpful. Exceptional location, located directly next to the mall, within walking distance to the beach. We love the pool area :) Cons: The Breakfast system is a little bit confusing. We had to get up early to have Thai food which is worth getting up for!

  • 5/5 Caryl T. 4 years ago on Google
Highly highly recommended. Great location next to Central Festival mall and within walking distance to amenities. Reasonably price. Compact but enough space to walk in the room. Roomy toilet with shower, bath foam, shampoo and handwash. I am already aware that no toothbrush given. With safe box and mini fridge. Queen size bed. It's a location for doing outdoor activities and back to comfortable accommodation and rest. Staff speak good English and mostly very friendly and welcoming. We stayed 2 nights and move to another property with beachfront view.
