So delicious, some of the best Thai food I've had in my life. Even though Lamai was pretty dead, this place was busy every night. Good to get a reservation in advance. Their specials are always on point. We went back a couple nights in a row because everything was so good. Mango sticky rice for dessert is a must!

Delicious and cheap Thai food! The restaurant is beautiful. Service is fast and so friendly! Don't forget to try their fresh fruit smoothies!

Best fried calamari on earth (and we had them everywhere). They make really delicious food! You need to know how/ what to order when it comes to Thai food and what you like and don’t like. If your food is not to your liking, you simply ordered the wrong dish :)

Amaaaaaazing food - without a doubt some of the best food I've eaten in Thailand. You could honestly choose anything on the menu and it's guaranteed to be delicious. The staff as SO lovely and knowledgeable about their dishes/ingredients so are able to help you choose what you would like. We ate here numerous times whilst staying in the area, would recommend to anyone.

Delicious specials! Green curry beef, pad thai seafood and grilled fish with mango salsa. One of the best pad thai I've ever had. Tumeric prawns were too sweet for our liking

Back on Koh Samui and popped into Kawin’s Kitchen new spot, and wow. On the main road, great decor and always great service. The Vegan menu has grown, and can’t wait to try more. Started off with these 2 dishes and some fresh juice. Awesome spot.

Tasty, authentic food. Nice and calm atmosphere. Nice for families too since they don't mind children or baby's. I had Som Tam for the first time and i wasn't disappointed at all. At level 3 spiciness i was just able to finish my meal without to many tears and sweats. A few days later i had the Tom Yum, very authentic, freshly made, perfectly balanced. I would definately go back!

The menu does not have an extensive selection of thai food, but what they prepare are delicious and well made. For taste I give it a good 8/10 and definitely a nice restaurant to visit. The price is a bit on the high side, but still worth the visit especially if you stay around the area.

The service was top quality and friendly. The atmosphere and decor were nice. As for the food, the Yellow curry was full of amazing flavours, but they told that it can not be made too spicy, which is understandable. The red curry was quite different from what we had on the island, the twist on it wasn't to our liking. For the money, I was expecting more of a wow factor since we have had similar or better food with a lot less on the island.

Amazing restaurant with great food. Ate here with some friends and I must say, everything about the place was perfect. The staff are lovely and very attentive. The food was so good and tasty. Good vegan options too. The main woman who I think was the manager was very helpful and told us if we didn’t like any of the food they could change it for us. Thankfully all the food was great! Definitely recommend this place.

Very happy of choosing this restaurant! Great food and very nice service, i cannot confirm the negative reviews on Google - you should never weight prices for good quality food. A good choice for everyone looking for very good thai food! All the best!

On walking back from the beach I searched google for an authentic Thai restaurant and Kawin’s came up as top reviewed close by. The food was amazing and full of flavour. Staff are lovely and the restaurant looks great. Well worth a visit for the Thai curry

Food is great and comes out in good timing too! The Stay Kai chicken starter was out of this world good! However it does stain so be careful haha. Definitely the Southern Style Pad Thai is a must try! I had the Seafood and my partner had the Chicken. Both really great choices. Too bad the restaurant was empty at the time we went!

Really good authentic Thai food which tastes great. The host is really friendly and enthusiastic to share her story and the origins of her dishes. Waiters are a bit shy but happy to help and suggest dishes. Definitely worth the walk from Banyan Tree resort, just be careful walking along the road.

    1. The best Pad Thai I’ve ever had (and the most creative) 2. The best papaya salad I’ve ever had 3. The best massaman curry I’ve ever had (by some distance, the flavours were out of this world) The setting is also very cute and peaceful, and the staff are, even by Thai standards, extremely kind and welcoming. This is the kind of place you go back to again and again. We were only in Samui for three nights and were lucky enough to eat in Kawin’s twice - if they weren’t closed on the Monday (for a well earned rest), we probably would have gone for all three!

A very popular venue.. to the point where I would strongly suggest reservations for dinner... Large and small groups accommodated provided a reservation has been made in advance. This restaurant is popular! The menu is mostly Thai inspired but some odd influences from elsewhere also makes an appearance. Open air (no Aircon) .. shoes at the door.. and at the upper end of Lamai Bay .. family friendly and lonely hearts welcome too. Service is fast and with a smile. The food is definitely worth coming back for.

Nice spot for Thai food. We had the papaya salad with shrimp, a paneng curry wrap, and then the mango sticky rice and fried banana for dessert. The salad was excellent and I really liked the curry - the actual curry dish would probably be great as well. Desserts were good too. They also have a nice range of drinks, and there was a happy hour going on while we were there (late afternoon).

Best meal of our 6 week trip!! Just eat here… the ladies are so lovely.. I wanted to hug them all ❤️ We had the Vietnamese spring rolls and chicken satay then shared the main special of slow cooked beef and garlic black pepper stir fry. Literally melted in the mouth. They do cooking classes too. Can’t wait to go back and leave some space for dessert!!

Try their Fruit shakes!! It’s the best I’ve ever had. We’ve been traveling Thailand now for two months and the food we had at Kawin’s was the best so far. You can taste every little herb and spice they put in-food lovers will love it! Try the vegetarian ones, killing it! The ladies are all super nice and friendly!!

Absolutely delicious food! You can aim for anything in the menu and you won’t be disappointed. Best Pad Thai I have ever had, with a Southern twist. Can’t recommend enough if you’re in the area!

I visited this place which, at first glance, looked impressive with its new style and attractive exterior. However, there seem to be several organizational issues that the owner might be handling incorrectly. Despite the café's popularity, it was clear that the staff was overwhelmed; with only 3 or 4 people who seemed to be constantly running around. This situation calls for hiring more staff, as the current team's overexertion is impacting the quality of service. I experienced significant waiting times: an hour just to get in, followed by a 45-minute wait for my food. This sluggish pace indicates a need for improved administrative processes. Regarding the food, the Pad Thai in their new style didn't impress me, but that's just my personal preference. Overall, it's not very clear what customers should expect upon arrival. People seemed confused about what to do next. Additionally, the prices are on the higher side, which might be justified by the status of the establishment, but it's something to consider. These aspects made the experience less satisfying than anticipated.

Phenomenal! I’ve been to Thailand many times and this place serves THE best Thai food by far! An incredible find given it’s location! Absolute hidden gem with nice decor, professional and friendly staff but most importantly the food! It was that good that my partner and I instantly booked dinner reservations for the next 2 following nights!

We came twice and everything was so so good, tasty, full of flavors. The pad thai was out of this world. Service and atmosphere were just as good as the food. Definitely worth a visit for those around Lamai!

Most divine food! We ordered the chicken massaman and prawn massaman which were just incredible & you can choose how spicy you like it which is great for all to have. We ended the evening with mango sticky rice and it did not disappoint! Wow I’m already craving it again! Thanks so much!

Found this place thanks to other reviewers. Thank you, other reviewers! Possibly the third best food we had in Thailand (the other two were Michelin rated). Best som tum EVER. Terrific fish curry special, polite, kind, friendly service. And beyond reasonably priced. Wishing I was there now…….

Delicious food, fresh seafood and a terrific staff. We were a big group of 20 people and they worked hard to get our food and drinks out in a reasonable period of time. We went back more than once during our week long stay on the island.

The best food I’ve had in Thailand so far! It’s authentic and every dish is an explosion of flavour and made to perfection. Service is top notch too with extremely friendly and attentive staff that genuinely seem to care that you enjoy their food and it’s made to your liking. We’ve been travelling around in Thailand so only in Koh Samui for 4 nights and after discovering this restaurant on our second night we had to return for our last night on the island. Special mention has to go out to the lamb dishes as they were so tender and perfectly cooked. One of the best papaya salads I’ve had too. Whatever you do, make sure you end your meal with their amazing mango and sticky rice. We were surrounded by repeat customers that were all gutted to hear they were closed on Sunday. I will be dreaming of this place for years to come!

Incredible Thai food!! The one place I wish I had taken pictures of all of the food, but it was so good that we ate it all before I had a chance. We ordered the vegan spring rolls, green curry with chicken, and the pork salad. All of it was great; my husband thought the pork salad superb (go for the level three spice! Just the right kick to it) and I thought the green curry was astounding (also level three spice). For dessert we had the mango sticky rice. We almost ordered a second one…so good. So so good. The ingredients all tasted very fresh and you can tell the staff and chef love what they do. Everyone was so kind and very prompt. Will eat here again for sure!

Had a wonderful lunch of Tom yum Kung, omelette and rice that was so delicious, I returned that night for dinner. Really liked that I was asked my spice level: western medium or Asian medium, lol. Don't forget to bring enough cash as I hadn't enough and needed to walk to the hotel and back. It's pricier than other places, but you'll definitely be pleased with the quality and taste. Plenty of parking nearby and just off the main road. Definitely recommended.
