Very underwhelming „Dome“ experience. It started off when our friends tried to reserve the dome. Either they weren’t able to reserve, or they needed to discuss it with the manager or, the system wasn’t working. They told them they would be calling them back to give out more information regarding the reservation. But they never did. My friends had to actively stay in touch with them. And by the time they found someone who was responsible for reserving the Dome, the favourable date was taken. And so some friends couldn’t make it and we had to find an alternative day. Mind you, we also had to choose which Menu and items a la carte we wanted beforehand, so they could prepare it for us and time manage everything better. The min. Expense was 1500€ for the whole table. The experience on the day was just so confusing and disappointing. The food was delicious and filling. And that is one reason for a star. The menu was very confusing and we had lots of question. The poor server had to apologised a lot and we had lots of clarifications that evening. Eventually they admitted that they were also confused about the menu and needed to talk to the kitchen staff. Especially after they skipped my friends amuse Bouche. They (a couple) had ordered 3 extra oysters as an Appetizer a la carte. The server thought that those were the amuse bouche. And so did the kitchen? Because the amuse bouche never came and we still had to pay extra for the oyster. Such confusion shouldn’t happen in these kind of a setting. We also quickly realised, that one of our three servers was a very inexperienced underaged trainee (Auszubildende/r). She also had to wait outside in the cold without a jacket to be on call for us. I honestly didn’t feel very well sitting in the warm while having her stand outside for us. The wrong wine was brought, one dirty plate was served, and after serving us the forth combination of sauces, she cut her explanation short on what it was. She was nonetheless, a very nice young lady and gave her best. But at 22:00h she had to leave because.. well she was underaged. The other server was only there to bring us food and filled our glasses, since he barely spoke any German and (we believe) little English. And our main server (bless his heart) a young lad himself, tried to hold the whole evening together, with all the confusions and mistakes that occurred before and during the evening. He answered all of our questions, was well spoken, and guided us throughout the evening. But we believe that he most likely had just finished his trainee. Because the whole evening was rather disorganised, and we were less than happy about it, the server surprised us with a bottle of champagne on behalf of the restaurant. Which was very thoughtful of him. We were never trying to be impolite towards the waiter because we knew it wasn’t really their fault. But we had to voice out a lot of things that didn’t work as we expected. Especially if we choose to spend this amount of money. No matter how lovely and helpful the restaurant attendant were - and we really appreciated their time and effort, which is why I gave them another star - we weren’t pleased at all, that the restaurant didn’t feel the need to have experienced staff serve us. But rather made us feel bad for the underaged girl standing in the cold, and bringing up our dismay to a server who tried his best only because the sales and marketing team could plan this properly. If we spend 1500€ on an evening like this, we expect better organisation that is worth the money. Even though the food was exceptionally delicious I cannot recommend this Dome experience.

The price vs quality ratio we’ve found was very poor. We had dinner at this place and ordered scallops which smelled bad so we needed to return them. Naturally we were told the dish will be excluded from the bill but it was not so we needed to tell the staff to exclude it. The food which we ordered afterwards was well made. The menu (which needs to be read online) is quite comprehensive so it was hard to chose and there is no option to order menu/ set (as many high end restaurants offer.). The staff was not very knowledgeable when presenting the dishes and helping with selection of drinks. Overall we had very high expectations for the place which were not met. We had 250€ dinner for two and walked away not very satisfied as the food we consumed for this amount was not much and very overpriced.

Been here on a Thursday night and we were welcomed warmly with some „shout“ all through the restaurant. Although not on the menu (anymore), they offered us a five course menu - great choice as the menu is quite long. The food was delicious - the photos speak for themselves. So we had a great evening in a comfy atmosphere. Thanks !

The food and drinks were amazing. Every dish has its own flavor profile all made with great quality fresh ingredients. Unfortunately though, for a place like this, one would expect a much higher customer service experience. Upon arrival, our coats were hung on a very untidy manner and when seated no one from the staff advised us that the menu was now online. Once we had decided what to get, we waited several minutes for our order to be taken. After paying it took a long while to get our coats back since there was no one at the reception. Again, nothing too extreme but definitely not the service one would expect at a Matsuhisa in Mandarin Oriental; due to this, despite the food being wonderful, the whole experience was a bit lackluster due to the less than amazing customer service.

I waited till my birthday to book this place for my family. The staff was nice but service was horrible. I was served my main course, and my husband’s main course was nowhere to be found. No comment no nothing. After 30 minutes waiting told them to take my main course to keep it warm as I would like to eat with my husband, after 20 minutes both our main course came but no side dishes. It came after 20 minutes later, few minutes before we finished our main course (we had to ask where is the side dish we ordered). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR A BIRTHDAY DINNER. Never again will I come here and please stop answering all bad comments that you will do better and make a proper answer not an automatic reply like everyone else. I spent a lot of money and it was definitely not worth it!!! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! Go somewhere else!

Best sushi place in Munich. Hands down. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but sushi lovers know that high quality fish and cuts like that are not cheap here, so you’re getting what you’re paying for. The service is always outstanding, the presentation of the food is impeccable, I mean what else is there to say? 10/10.

One of the best Japanese places in Munich you can find. I have been there multiple times and their food surprises you every time. Exquisite, rich, and simply outstanding taste. It's a perfect place for dinner right in city center of Munich. However you should be ready to pay 100+ eur per person, so it's not the cheapest gastronomic experience.

I loved it. Yummy food, very friendly people. Great to be a guest there. We just came along spontaneously and asked I we could dine there on the Evening before Christmas and right away, we got Seated very quickly within 30 Mins from the Host at the Reception. Beautiful ! Thank you so so much. Will be back again very soon. ✨️🩷🫶😇

Very good upscaled restaurant in Munich. Classic Japanese Peruvian fusion cuisine with the black cod, Chilean sea bass, miso aubergine, truffle spinach, sushi... Well executed with high quality ingredients. Nicely decorated, good Chardonnay and saké. Very friendly smiling staff, for Munich it’s just super!! Not comparable to Paris or London though, so keep your expectations very German relative..

Exceptional dining experience! Matsuhisa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Munich, led by the legendary Chef Nobu, is a culinary masterpiece that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're enveloped in an ambiance of understated elegance and serenity. The contemporary design and warm lighting create the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The menu is a testament to Chef Nobu's artistry. Each dish is a delicate fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors, resulting in an explosion of taste that delights the senses. The truffled edamames are a must-try; it practically melts in your mouth. The Tiradito and Yellowtail Jalapeño are equally exquisite, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, providing impeccable service without ever feeling intrusive. They guided us through the menu, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that every course was a delight. The wine and sake selection complemented the meal perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. The sommelier's expertise was evident in the pairings. Matsuhisa is not just a meal; it's a journey for your palate. It's a testament to the art of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine and the culinary genius of Chef Nobu. Dining here is a privilege, and I can't wait to return to savor more of this extraordinary fusion of flavors.

Disappointing Visit at Matsuhisa Munich - After our enthusiastic visit to Matsuhisa Mykonos in June 2023, we were looking forward to our visit in Munich with high expectations. Unfortunately, those expectations were abruptly shattered. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt plushy, gloomy and loud. The various sushi rolls looked visually underwhelming and tasted just mediocre. The recommended six thin slices of Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño were pleasing to the eye but lacked flavor and were simply overpriced. The drinks and sorbet were okay. We can easily think of far better Japanese restaurants that offer a truly memorable experience and have that desirable WOW factor. The only thing that remains in our memory is that everything was just expensive, and we cannot recommend Matsuhisa Munich at all.

One of the best fine dining restaurants in Munich. I believe Matsuhisa restaurant has gone to the top of my list for Asian fusion cuisine in Munich. They have a great selection of sushi, seafood and wagyu beef. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is outstanding and very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Really cool restaurant. Delicious food. We had a super friendly waitress and enjoyed our dinner a lot. Had a selection of sushi rolls and the grilled salmon. Both were great and exactly what we've hoped for. Also the drinks were good. We didn't need reservations, which I usually prefer, but it got quite busy for a week night, so maybe it's better to be prepared. Coming back for sure!

Last time I stayed there was our 19th wedding anniversary. Nobu Matsuhisas Japanese Peruvian fusion kitchen located in the Mandarin Oriental in Munich was splendido as usually. We had a bottle of Champagne 🍾 and after the amuse gueule we started with the cold yellowtail jalapeño dish, afterwards some more sashimi and 🌈 rainbow roll and stuff and finally we had warm scallops with wasabi shiitake, asparagus yum. As a special treat we ordered a Sacher cake from MO in-house Patisserie. Staff was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed. Despite not cheap, who would expect that, it’s still a good luxurious place to enjoy and relax. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was good. Drinks were bad ( I would recommend ordering wine or champagne, no cocktails!). The staff was friendly but not experienced / attentive enough. For a Nobu location, I expect a 10/10 experience, which sadly wasn’t the case.

The sushi is just decent. However the multi fish entree was great, as was the dessert.

Wasn’t great as expected. But services and environments are 5 stars. Food can only be 4 stars. Price is okay, 100 euro per person

I was with a group of friends who were really eager to try out the Matsuhisa. Quite overpriced but, it was worth every cent!! Before we entered the restaurant, we came across by this beautiful, kind, the dashing smile of the hostess, we already felt like this is going to be a blast of an experience! The staff were very friendly, Gabor who was our waiter, really took care of our belongings (the reason why im saying this is bc, I didn’t realise how my scarf was on the floor and what the gentleman did was placing it on a small stool, which caught me off guard), very professional when it comes to customer service, made us felt very comfortable with his humour! The sushi Chef, known as Jeff, introduced every dish with his knowledge without missing any ingredient, which made us even more intrigued and impressed. Im not a fan of wasabi so, i informed how I wouldn’t like any wasabi on my sushi/nigiri. I totally forgot about my request to the chef, which made me even more impressed. Now with that type of professionalism is what makes the restaurant more reliable! Now with the food…. We tried out the Omakase (chef’s choice/heart) which was 7 courses! Just by the 1st course(Octopus carpaccio with jalapeno dressing) I already knew how I would enjoy every bite of it. The rest of the courses, it filled me up so quick that I could barely even make it to the 5th course. I had to make it till the end bc I did hear the desserts is something you should NOT miss.. May I say, how I am so glad that I managed to try out the one and only Nobu Cheesecake! It’s not just a cheesecake, it’s something so light, barely tastes the cream cheese, blends in so well with the crushed cookies and yuzu ( japanese citrus). For fancy casual place like this, I would definitely visit on any special occasions! It’s a place to bring your partner and celebrate either an anniversary or birthday or whatsoever occasion!!

Came here for dinner and everything was absolutely excellent. We had the most beautiful and amazing tasting cocktails that the bartender delivered himself and the food was also perfect, as everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The white fish tiradito in particular was the best tiradito I’ve ever had out of all the Nobu/Matsuhisa experiences I’ve been to. The wagyu tacos were a little disappointing as the shell didn’t taste very good, but the meat alone was nice. Service was a little slow at first but once we ordered appetizers, we were very well taken care of. If I wasn’t leaving Munich tomorrow I would definitely come again.

Super disappointed. Extremely rushed waiter. He spoke so fast I understood nothing. We’ve had sushi at some of the best places in the world and expected much better. While it looked very pretty it just had zero flavor. The rainbow roll had a fake crab stick in the middle! The texture of all the fish seemed not too fresh. The spicy tuna roll had no spice at all (far left in pic.) The salmon and yellowtail nigiri were average and wasn’t even king salmon…reminiscent of Costco salmon tbh. After traveling for weeks through Germany I was REALLY wanting some excellent fish. Too bad! I cannot recommend this place at all!

We really enjoyed our evening at Matsuhisa. The food, service, and venue were all outstanding and on par with Matsuhisa New York, Beverly Hills, and Aspen. The staff went out of their way to accommodate all our needs. We look forward to returning next time we visit Munich.

Very good dinner with very fresh food prepared with great talent. Service was attentive and fast, excellent, in fact. Room a bit noisy. Price justified by the overall quality of the food and service.

Like Nobu London or Nobu Tokyo. Really really good, fantastic atmosphere, all tables booked so table at the bar. No problem, very comfortable chairs and desk. Did not take sushi, but other signature dishes. If you like black cod, you cannot have it better👌🏻🤤. High end hotel, and interior so also high end prices, but worth every penny.

Service was terrible bordering on unfriendly. The staff ran around like headless chickens moving so quickly and dropping plates at tables without so much as making eye contact let alone asking if everything was tasty or if anything more was wanted. The restaurant wasn’t full but they served like they had a line waiting to come in, loud clomping of feet rushing about. Really awful ambiance and mediocre food. Out of four dishes only one is worth mentioning and that was the black cod appetizer which was stellar, not that we were asked.

We made reservations on the same day (Sunday) and were able to get a table with no problem. The service was good and attentive. The food was superb, as expected by the brand. I found the dining space cozy and relaxing. It would be even better if the Mandarin hotel had a better view.

I had to think if i should give this place 4 or 5 stars. If there would be an option for 4.5 star, that is exactly the rate I would give. Why? For main I have ordered Beef Teriyaki which was quite tasty and cooked exactly as I asked - Medium. However, staff forgot about Miso soup that I ordered and had to ask for it. (This could be also some sort of misunderstanding during the order collection process but I have seen people complaining about missing dishes in the other reviews) Also dishes are delivered separately so if you are in a group and you want to all eat together, person who got their dish first will have to wait. In our case about 10min. Important to highlight here is that staff informed us about this fact before we placed the order so we were not surprised at all. Additionally, what I would expect from place like that is for someone to give me some info about what I am eating. Its very common in the restaurants of this class. Here except of ingredients list in the menu there is no info about food at all. Worth to mention that the place was not busy at all that night so there was definitely time to make everything perfect. Just to summarise - I like the place and I will come back once again for sure as overall my experience was positive. Thank you for having us Team Matsuhisa. Cheers!

Beautiful location and very private atmosphere. The food is very good and the staff was overly friendly. Definetly recommended to try out all the dishes to share.

Food is amazing but the service doesn't reflect the cost of the restaurant. You will be left waiting often, food comes at random times. You can visit Michelin star restaurants for the same price. Wine is also 4x the actual price of a bottle here.

Very good food, nice fusion, somewhat spicy, really great service and atmosphere! Sushi was somewhat ordinary but we chose something more standard and was good quality. All in all a very positive experience

Great concept and good execution. The beef sashimi and black cod were top notch. The scallop was a little bit over-cooked; sea urchin was not as fresh as I expected. But overall this is so far the best Japanese restaurant in Munich I have been to.

Very disappointed in Matsuhisa Munich- from a loyal Nobu/Matsuhisa fan in the US Having eaten at Nobu and Matsuhisa restaurants in other locations such as New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas I was very disappointed with our experience at Matsuhisa Munich. As someone who moved from California to Munich we were excited to dine at Matsuhisa believing we'd have a high quality experience and could expect the same standard of food quality. Not only did it not live up to the standard of a Matsuhisa restaurant it didn't live up to our local sushi joint, much less the standard of a nice dining experience for quality food and service! The food was mediocre at best, with raw fish selections tasting fishy and not fresh. As avid sashimi eaters and at Matsuhisa prices you expect a high quality raw fish product, not for anything to taste fishy. Portions were abnormally small in many cases, even knowing it is a small plates shared concept. Prices do not bother me, but when matched with poor quality of food it's unimaginable. The service was inattentive and lacking with orders missing and our dinner service lasting longer than necessary at 4 hours and long pauses between small shared plates. Matsuhisa Munich is not worth the money, nor is there much of an experience. If you are in the US by all means go, but don't bother with the Munich restaurant!

The food has also always been up to expectations. My sashimi slices, that's where you can't trick around on quality, were always perfect. They seem to be on top of that or I have always been lucky. Long story short, you will have a really good dining experience at a high price. That may be something to consider
