WARNING: Worst night sleep and hotel ever. 1. The wall are paper thin making it hard to sleep at night. You can hear everybody next to you and that walks through the hallway 2. On top of that we heard the laundry machine and ice machine all night long 3. And if that wasnโ€™t enough the house cleaners came early at 8am and woke us up again. 4. Not even a bottle of water was given to us (good thing we brought our own) 5. Mattress was fine but looked questionable 6. While walking through the fitness area to our room there were cockroaches Had I known this in advance I would have paid less money and stayed at the nicer Double Tree down the street. Recommend not booking this in advance and checking out the room and comparing it with at least 1 other hotel. This hotel should be downgraded to a 1 star hotel.

Until retirement I spent 31 years every week in Hotels/Motels. This hotel is one of the finest that I have ever stayed in. My family and I were in Bakersfield for a funeral. Most spent two nights and some one night. We took up six rooms. This is the consensus of the ten people that stayed in these six rooms. Staff was unbelievably friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean and modern. Internet/Wifi was free and worked well. An amazing number of AC outlets (which has always been one of my biggest pet-peeves). Shower was quite large and had plenty of towels, etc. The weather was 106 outside and the room was nice and cool and I had no problem operating the thermostat. The swimming pool was beautiful. Plenty of towels for everyone. The pool itself was probably one of the cleanest that I have ever seen. And now to my favorite spot. The Bistro/Cafe/Restaurant/Bar. This is where my family and I hung out. For you people that like everything free, there was nothing free here. But keep in mind the room rates are pretty darn decent and should make up for the lack of free food. You could get some pretty good food to eat here or could get anything you wanted to drink here. But keep in mind its not a full blown restaurant. But very convenient. The surrounding was great for gathering's. You could sit right in the area in front of the Cafe/bar or off to the side where you had more privacy. Bottom line is this. My family and I loved this place and we recommend it highly.

If I could give it less than one I would. Some scumbag broke into my truck through the back window in broad daylight and stole my belongings. Their are no cameras outside not even on the entrance so you donโ€™t know who comes in or who leaves this parking lot. It is not safe to park there. I am sick and disappointed at the level of โ€œhospitalityโ€ this place has shown.

Norma did a great job with the cleaniest of our room, the grounds were clean, staffing was hospitable, but the restaurant, bar was a bit pricey. Plus, the bed in our other room wasn't comfortable, need to update the mattresses in all of the rooms. And the pet deposit was over priced.

The 2 doors between adjoining rooms lead to zero soundproofing. I could listen to their conversations which I really do not want to do. Marriott should not use these doors, but normal walls instead (except for very few family groups of that size for multiple rooms.) Right on the other side of the door late in the evening, I heard a man say "I love you" to a woman. I had a sinking feeling about what might happen as I just wanted to go to sleep. Unfortunately, I had to listen to the whole thing. Some things should be private.

I stayed here several times for extended period of times for work at a nearby hospital. I almost never had any issues, if I did it was addressed prompt. Rooms were spacious, clean, and felt fresh. Plentiful parking and I felt that my car was safe in their premises. Staff was friendly and helpful on multiple occasions. I used the gym a few times, nothing extraordinary but basic things available for a quick workout. Not too far from highway but hidden away where it is not loud. I would stay again and recommend.

As a traveling healthcare worker its so helpful when a place is able to accommodate me, iโ€™d like a to shout out to Taylor & Michaela at the front desk for being so accommodating. Love staying here. A favourite for me when traveling .

Nice room but the hotel is quite unpleasant. There was what seemed to be a party in the bar across from the reception desk which made checking in hard because I couldn't hear the receptionist and she couldn't hear me. You couldn't walk in or out of any of the entry doors without inhaling second hand smoke. There were beer cans in the stairwells and the elevators stunk.

This was on our way from Albuquerque to San Jose. After driving 13+ hrs that day and finally ready to rest, we noticed that there were multiple bedbugs in the room. Knowing that the rooms are all so compact and close to each other, we felt that it might not be safe to just switch to another room. We ended up leaving the hotel and drove another 4+ hours to go back home directly, feeling extremely tired...The staff were very friendly though.

If you are traveling by car, coming from the west, stop for gas first - the hotel is between the gas stations and 58. The staff is all great here, but a shout out to David at the front desk, Monique who doubles at the front desk and Bistro, and Karla in the Bistro. Welcoming and friendly!! Recently renovated, the accommodations are above tge bar for recent stays in Courtyards across the US. Great job!!

Great little rest stop on our trip. Easy and fast check-in, clean rooms, convenient parking and location. Jesus was extremely helpful and friendly at check-in. Will stay here again.

Clean and beautiful rooms, nice gym, friendly people. Printing on the guest computer kiosk was very easy. The position of the TV was awkward so it was not particularly pleasant to enjoy from the couch nor the bed. The ice machine next door was pretty loud at night, so if you're a light sleeper you should consider this when selecting your room.

This hotel had the best reception staff possible. We were not booked in but they managed to get us a great rate. We really enjoyed the pool and towels were waiting for us on exit of the pool. Bar food was average and bit slow with service in that department. Great rest stop.

I came to Bakersfield by myself for a family function. Hotel is tucked back from old hwy 58. Check in was a breeze. The nice young woman that checked me in asked what floor I preferred which I appreciated since I was solo. I asked for a room not on the ground floor. My room was clean and had a little balcony. Bed was comfortable and the hotel was free of street noise. The hotel was quiet which made for a restful night's sleep. Great value. I will definitely book here again next time I'm back in town.

I love the classic design of this Courtyard. The hotel is very quite and every room has a small balcony or patio. The rooms are larger than other Courtyard properties. Every employee was very kind and professional.

I've stayed here 3 times in the past year & I will not stay anywhere else. Sleep is never a problem as they have the best beds I've ever had to experience staying in a hotel. Their beds were so comfortable it made me realize it was time to replace our current bed...

I only stayed one night. However, it is well kept and clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice. There's a Black Angus nearby which is very convenient.

Clean, quiet, and staffed with friendly people. There's a small lounge with cozy seating and a large t.v. for non-room visits and mid-size presentation rooms. The courtyard with pool is lovely.

Iโ€™ve stayed at this hotel several times while traveling for work. Itโ€™s a good central location near restaurants, etc. The parking lot is accessible, seems safe and close to the rooms. I stay in many Courtyards and this is a good one (clean, polite staff, lively bar area). One one my stays, I was kindly upgraded by Debra Derr (the GM). She gave a suite with a separate living room and balcony. She also left me a basket with water, cookies and a bottle of wine. Really appreciate the service at this hotel. Thank you Debra! -Laura

My daughter has been staying here off and on for over a year when she comes from the Bay Area. She's never had any problems that were her fault and also paid in full everytime she stayed. Well she recently moved here about two month ago and was so happy to have her own apt. She's 33 and isn't thrilled about staying with Mom. Well about two weeks ago her apt burnt down (not her fault) and I believe the salvation army paid for a week at this hotel. Since that's run out she's been paying by herself from money family and friends have helped with. The other evening I went to visit her and we were having a mother/ daughter discussion and apparantly we were talking loud because the front desk called and asked us to quiet down. I don't know how we could have been any quieter. I don't even think the rooms next to hers were occupied. I have read through the comments here and there are several that mention thin walls but that's the hotel's problem. Anyway, the next day she made a reservation online and when she arrived they told her she's no longer allowed to stay there because of the prior evening. I think they just don't want her there for some reason. She's is very nice and never caused any problems the whole time she has stayed there a warning would have been nice. Not just cut her off after they took her money. That is the only place that is somewhat affordable and she gets perks for being a loyal customer. Well, not anymore. This hotel has problem with her that goes beyond us talking and used that to kick her out. We weren't loud. For God sake she just lost everything she owned and they know her situation. The lack of empathy is unbelievable. The girls in front are not nice and have been rude to her for no reason on different occasions past and present. Now she's back here at my house and I don't mind but staying there kinda kept the funk she's feeling away. I can't believe they used an excuse that was a lie to ban her because they don't like her. Maybe her skin color? She's half Mexican and she's kinda dark from the sun. Who knows? I'll be contacting corporate. This way of doing business isn't right especially since she was a valued customer?

This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. I was first assigned a room (different than I had reserved) next to two party rooms with loud music playing at midnight. I was moved down the same hall to another room next to a couple fighting until 4 a.m., who then kept making noise in their bed into the rest of the morning. I let the front desk associate Theron know about this and, while he apologized, did nothing to make the experience better. I asked that my comments be passed to the manager. I never received any follow up communication whatsoever until I completed an automated email survey about my stay. I often stay at Marriott and generally have good experiences, but I will never stay at this hotel again. Stay away.

This is our last stop on a 1 month long road trip. Our room was so clean and the staff were so friendly. With our Titanium status, they gave us a room with a patio. I went to have a coffee in the garden courtyard and all of the staff passing by said "good morning. How are you?" Having just stayed at a dozen roadside motels/hotels during a road trip, this is a notch above the rest for those looking for a decent place to stop and take a break on their road trip. There is no free breakfast, but we usually bring our own anyway.

Great place, not so great location. Rooms were very clean and quaint. Lil balcony to chill on. Only bummer was no jacuzzi and the extremely overpriced bar down stairs.

Very clean, front desk people were good (Thanks, Monique!), Cafe serving Starbucks coffee was nice. Loved getting to look out at the patio and see the pool even if I didn't have time to swim. And the toilet paper was folded into a little triangle!! Can't trust a hotel with no little TP triangle! Parking lot was convenient with extra nearby entries for people with hotel key cards, so we didn't have to haul our luggage through the whole front room. Also there were three stray cats in the parking lot and two were very friendly but stayed out of the way of people who didn't want to stop to pet the kitties (third was not social, but that's his right)
