Good local place, small town feel and they were super friendly

This is a legit hometown bar. The menu is limited but the Classic Beer Bratwurst was really good and the Other Half Stacks on Stacks Imperial IPA was fantastic! If you are hungry and/or thirsty in Canton looking for a hidden gem, this is one of a few.

We’d give this establishment six stars if we could. This pub might have the most comprehensive beer list in Baltimore, boasting many unique bottled and draft beers. We liked the novelty that we could watch the cook prepare our grill order in front of us while we sat at the bar. We ordered the ribeye cheesesteak served with the rosemary garlic fries. The garlic aioli made a perfect complement to both the fries and cheesesteak. The sub roll tasted as though it had been baked the same day. Our only complaint was that the fries could have been portioned more generously. Nonetheless, we found the cheesesteak a good value for $15. Our bartenders were most attentive throughout our time at Mahaffey’s. Surprisingly, the owner, Dennis, was handling the grill at the time (he said he was short-handed). This place has a friendly, neighborly vibe (almost like Cheers Baltimore-style could be filmed here). Interestingly, Mahaffey’s even has a “100 beer club.”

It had been awhile since I was here but would be more if I lived close by. We were there on this past Sunday just as they opened. Terrific spot with many, many great beers. Service and patrons were outstanding as always. The barmaid is a keeper as we were waiting outside we saw her bring in two five gallon buckets of ice at one time and was nice enough to even fill the outdoor dog dishes! She was very helpful, fast and high energy. Prices were very good. Though we did not eat anything its kinda cool to see the food made in front of you behind the bar. Can't wait to get back!

A Bar so good, I created a second google account so I could give them TEN STARS! I really can't say enough great things about this place. I'm blessed to exist on the same block as them. Bartenders are awesome and go out of their way to make everyone feel like they're at home. Food is the best bar food in the neighborhood BY FAR. Nothing fancy, everything is perfectly grilled or fried. PERFECT

Mahaffey's is a Canton institution. Legendary bar food, drink selection and bartenders. Dennis and the crew CANNOT MISS! We came in late on a Thursday and they were done taking food orders, but they hooked us up with an the grilled ham and cheese, fries, and mozzarella sticks we needed after too many drinks at First Thursday. Really made our night. I will fight anyone who thinks this bar is not the best in the neighborhood.

Not only does their chefs utilize compact kitchen sling out crazy delicious food. The energy from the people serving, paired with the local patronage energy…the place is elevated to some seriously incredible standards.

Great spot to meet up with friends for a low-key hangout and grabbing a few drinks. It is a cozy, casual neighborhood sports bar that is still fun even if you don’t watch sports. Cool ceiling tiles, lol. TVs are always playing the big games, but the volume is not obnoxious so you can still easily have a conversation. Excellent drink specials and reasonable prices. Try the rosemary fries with garlic aioli — they’re incredible!

The cheesesteaks here are insane! Wings are some of the best I've ever had and highly recommend spicy jerk wings. The fries are fresh cut and good by themselves but if you get a side of Chipotle BBQ and dip them it's a whole nother level -- you're welcome! 😁

Good service, great beer selection. Openly and illegally flouting Baltimore's mask mandate, unfortunately. With its tight quarters and row-home style, that makes it a bad place to go during COVID spikes.

It's always fun hanging out with the regulars, the beer selection is excellent and the staff is always friendly, very knowledgable and helpful. Try the happy hour beer specials Monday - Friday 3-7 and they're great at helping you make good selections.

Always an amazing experience. The bartenders are great and the food always tastes awesome. The owner, Dennis, is always so welcoming, kind, and a super hard worker. One of my favorite places in the city.

Classic beer lover's bar, with surprisingly good bar food (smashburger was awesome!), and a great atmosphere. Many regulars, including members who have racked up impressive beer club stats, and who are always friendly to non-regulars. A wonderful escape from typical Canton Square bar scene!

Have been a patron here for 15 years. Great food, solid craft beer taps, can and bottle selection. Has a beer club too where you can get your own chair.

They have a good happy hour and the tacos are pretty nice. I wish they’d have regular beer like Heineken or Stella for happy hour. Service was quick and efficient

This place may look like a bit of a dive from the start, HOWEVER the beer list is top notch, and the food is really really good! Trivia upstairs is run. Great place to hang out and eat and drink. Bartenders are friendly and helpful

I love the food and especially the service. This is my go to for a night out in Canton. Dana, Mandy, Dennis and Mike... Just keep doing what you're doing. I love y'all!

This Bar is your classic neighborhood bar the service is friendly and swift. My first time her felt like my hundredth time here. Mike in the open kitchen runs a clean and efficient operation. If you want to watch the game or just chill in a Baltimore neighborhood bar. Mahaffey’s will make you feel at home.
