I've USED TO go to Walt's often and it USED TO BE great fun. They had reasonably priced drinks, Jell-O shots, and a great karaoke DJ chick. Also it was a good friendly mixed crowd. You could sing multiple songs in a night and it was usually never "too" crowded even on fri/sat. I stopped going because it was less than satisfying and becoming too crowded years ago. I gave it another chance recently, Now, it's pretty awful. The drinks are the same, and I understand the two drink min. But the sound system is terrible so even a good singer sounds bad. It's quite loud in there so half the crowd is singing along and half are not even paying attention so they're screaming over everyone else. We got there at 1030 and immediately put in one song each, and by 115 none of us had got our chance, all of the songs were being monopolized by a big group of bad singers in the back. The DJ is pretty bad too. Most of us just said screw it. My friend who was celebrating, stayed and sang just before closing and she said it was terrible, she couldn't even hear herself. I will not be going back again.

I spoke with some Black women who experience racism from the two bartenders working Saturday night 6/3. I didn’t experience first hand but their account is enough. If you don’t support racism, don’t attend.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. You are not friendly to people of color. The owner was incredibly disrespectful. Won’t be back again. My friends and I (people of color) were treated and spoken to like children.

“COVID Karoake” right on the sign. So packed that we never made it more than 2 feet past the front door. My friend’s phone was stolen within a minute of entering. The service was terrible. Pressuring you into a drink choice in seconds because of how busy it was. If you like a sweaty crowd of people screaming… go for it. And I usually LOVE karaoke.

Best karaoke bar! Doesn't look like much outside or in, but the crowd that shows up here on weekends is so much fun.

I had a lot of fun here. I like a dive bar and a casual karaoke experience, and this is certainly the place for it. There’s a two-drink minimum in order to sing, which was fine because they have a lot of reasonably-priced alcohol choices. There are two microphones, so you can sing with a friend. While my friend and I were singing, some guy was hassling us, and the woman running the karaoke intervened and asked him to stop. We really appreciated her stepping in for us. The space is fairly small and crowds do filter in, but i found it all manageable and fun. They do a good job of mixing the songs up once there are more people in, so it’s not one group going three times in a row. I got a couple songs in throughout the night and left feeling great.

Racism rules the bar here. Doorman/Bouncer was racist as hell. Bartenders seem to drive the white customers first and sometimes black guest will sit there and never get served.

Always a good time at Walt's! Can get real busy but you'll always meet at least one new friend. Strong drinks, good prices, and awesome karaoke.

Best karaoke bar in Baltimore. If you sing a well known song, the whole bar will sing with you. Great experience with friends.

*sigh* Not the best place for karaoke. Its tiny. And they started a new policy where you need to buy 2 drinks before you can sign up for karaoke. Also, on karaoke, the sound quality is not good. Service is also often slow because there is usually just one women working there.

Service was a bit slow but they were very busy too. Great karaoke place - they have almost every song you can think of to sing here. We had a blast! Two drink minimum to sing karaoke!

Karaoke was great. It did not take long toget your next song played. Service was good. Atmospere is like an old corner bar, just so you don't expect anything more.

Great time! You have to buy 2 drinks to sing, but it's necessary to build up the confidence. ;) It's small, which is actually nice because it makes it feel less like a performance and more like a sing-a-long with the crowd. Would go again for sure!

Great drinks, great atmosphere, and a great time doing karaoke. Only downside was it took a while to get to sing, but that just shows how many people are there.

I would give zero stars if I could. I waited multiple hours and never got to sing karaoke. In the meantime, staff were very unhelpful and clearly wishing I would leave

  • 2/5 Alex V. 4 years ago on Google
Disgusting booze and so crowded you'll never get to do your song. Plus there's no stage or anything so you can't even watch the karaoke.

Great karaoke atmosphere, service and drink prices
