Friendly Giants Krabi Elephant Riding Camp image

Friendly Giants Krabi Elephant Riding Camp

Tourist attraction

😠 Visited this camp as part of kayaking experience with Kayak Klongroot's tour. Elephants are chained almost all day (time we could feed them), and eventually used for riding trips too. It's just cruel. Despite staff looks friendly and seemed to enjoy the time with animals I could not ignore reality.... People often mention elephants, riding, animals, elephant, time, feeding,

DO NOT ENDORSE THESE CAMPS. Please please know the three camps in these area including the SANCTUARY is all connected. They are all on the same road it is no coincidence. they all beat the elephants with the bullhook including the sanctuary which unfortunately I had to see for myself by the so called trainers. All three camps the “riding camp” “friendly giants” and the “sanctuary” are the same people. Elephants can feel the bullhook, riding the elephants are cruel because of how they train them, they use bullhook to get them to walk a certain direction and are trained from a very young age and are taken from their parents - please do not ride the elephants, they are beautiful creatures, please do your research elephants are not meant for riding. There are many better options in the area which treat the elephants how they are supposed to be.

Animal cruelty!! Do Not Support that! Inform yourself on Google please. Riding Hurts the Animal. They use sticks chains and more to „navigate“ the Animal. Also the „saddle“ is extremely Heavy and destroys the elefants spine. Please Make the Right choice. There Are good sanctuaries and cares without riding that help the elefants and you can still enjoy it.

Overall, we loved the experience! We're a family of 4 with two girls aged 5 and 9, and we did the 30 min. elephant riding + feeding. The girls have been talking a lot about how much fun they had afterwards :) We had the impression that the elephants were taken good care of, and enjoyed the little riding tour on these mighty impressive animals. We did not know what to expect from the feeding afterwards, but this was a very positive surprise. They have organized the feeding so that you get close to the animals. We fed bananas to the baby elephant and even got an "elephant's kiss". Afterwards we fed the parrots which are very socialized, and came to sit on our hands, shoulders and hats. Very exciting! We also had great fun feeding the fish, sheep and mini-goats. We had our best day in a long time. The staff is very service-oriented and are happy to take photos for you. Great value for money! Highly recommended! :)

Nice place to bring your kids. Its clean, the animals were well kept. We enjoyed our activities there such as feeding the fish, parrots and elephant riding. The staff were friendly. Fruits were served after the activities and it was so refreshing.

It's unbelievable that someone can give a rating worse than 5. First, people are very cultured and kind, they pet the little goats all the time and hold them in their laps. They take care of the elephants constantly, they bathe and feed them all the time, they talk to them and you can see that the elephants understand and listen to them. Riding was a wonderful experience where the elephants had complete freedom of movement, they stopped whenever they wanted, ate what they wanted along the way and moved when they wanted, there were no traces or signs of violence. An unforgettable experience, kudos to everyone who works there and a recommendation for something you shouldn't miss in Krabi.

The best experience in my life. We had lots of fun intetactions with animals. Thanks to all lovely stuff there! We've came there twice. Elephants are so safe and loved, like the all another animals there. Don't believe in bad reviews, they are 100% ethical to animals.

Please do not support this place by visiting them. The Elephants all had their feet chained & could not move freely including a baby elephant that was clearly distressed. She was only let out to perform for visitors and the others for rides. One of the elephants had a large wound which according to the staff he got by hitting a tree. They clearly mistreat the elephants.

Very cruel treatment of the elephants. The elephants were all chained and were only let out for rides. A baby elephant was used for a show then tied up again. Please do not support this cruel company
