Service 5/5 Coffee Shop (near entrance) love it Let me start by saying that DR ADTH GADAVANIJ is the best Dr we have ever seen. I will take the liberty to write about him in the last as i wish to start and finish with him. We stayed in for a total of 37 days in the hospital and this is not a review, this is our life of 37 days spent in this hospital. We came from Bangkok to Phuket on a sport touring bike and on the way to Krabi hotel we had a terrible accident. The other person took sharp right without the indicator and had no tail lights. It all happened in a blink. We were brought to Wattanapat Hospital and from the very moment (emergency ward) it was a relief. Very clean and bright lit. ROOMS & SERVICE - rooms were clean and comfortable. The best part is the service. Most of the nurses on 3rd floor were extremely caring. For the first few days they looked professional but then later most of them got close and were ready to help out of the way. DEAR N’NANA you took care of us just like a family member. When we couldn’t move our hands, you washed our hair and did everything. We can not Thank You enough. You would sit with us when we were down and talk to us. God Bless you N’NANA. We will miss you. I do want to mention few more names who have a beautiful heart. Khun Laila nurse Khun Eik Khun Lee wheel chair person Khun Ann big bike girl Khun Waruni nurse Khun Cin Khun Lita Khun Arm FOOD - was just like what patients get in the starting but later on the lady who got us food told us, we could order our favorites and they will have them prepared. Food was excellent. Spaghetti, khao phat, and specially fresh fruits everyday. Apart from the routine food we also ordered food separately (payable), they have delicious menu’s. The vendor has a good cheff. This food is surprisingly tastier than Foodland. KHUN SIRIYA & JAMJIRA Thank You for bringing the delicious food everyday. They would come every evening and ask what do we wish to eat the next day. 🙏🏻 SURGERY DEPARTMENT - they did our bandaging everyday with a lot of patience. KHUN PIN Thank You for bandaging wounds everyday. Your have soft hands and we loved seeing you everyday. To be honest she has a heart of gold. We love her. Dear Dean/Director, Thank you for visiting us. We are very Thankful for everything you have done for us. The treatment, care, food, bed and specially giving us DR ADTH GADAVANIJ. When the misfortune happened (we thought we will die) and we were brought to this hospital, we were not aware of this hospital and thought it would be best if we went to Bangkok to be treated, but we are very glad that we stayed here and got the treatment. It was God's plan. As the wounds were getting better, we started enjoying here. We loved watching movies at night with hot chocolate. We wish you all the best and you 2 have a beautiful smile khrub. Thank You 🙏🙂 OUR FAVORITE DR ADTH GADAVANIJ - he was our Dr from the very first day and we were blessed to have been under his supervision. I can say this with no hesitation that there is no Dr like him, not even in Bangkok Hospital or Bumrungrad Hospital. He is always smiling and takes everything so casually that you feel you are ready to go home. Just talking to him makes you want to recover soon. When we were in pain, he cleaned woulds with extreme patience. He would take one cotton and clean a little and say “ok now we clean tomorrow “. You would not feel pain. He is the best Dr i have seen in my life. Truth is that when we had an accident, i instantly though going back to Bangkok to get treated as we have been going there since childhood but after a day or 2 seeing DR ADTH GADAVANIJ we knew god chose the best for us already. Dearest Dr we wish you all the best and pray that you always stay blessed. Sometimes we would come to you to ask several funny questions, only because we love talking you. We are going to miss you the most. Our family sends best wishes to you & your family khrub. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

As a foreign traveller I was VERY impressed with this hospital. I had a really major case of food poisoning where I had to stay for 2 nights and go through two IV doses of antibiotics. The staff here were very professional and spoke good English. The facilities are fantastic, maybe the best hospital I’ve ever been too? I was provided my own private room which was extremely clean and comfortable. My insurance covered the expenses and the hospitals financial team was in contact with them from the start. I never had to pay anything upfront as the insurance and hospital sorted that out very quickly (had I only been in for 1 day I probably would have had to pay upfront then get reimbursed). Overall a really great ‘horrible’ experience, I wish I hadn’t gotten sick but very grateful this facility exists. Thank you.

Scooter accident led to an emergency ambulance pick up and hospital visit for my ripped up ankle. Pros: beautiful new facility, extremely clean, no waiting and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Cons: ridiculously expensive, stitches were sewed too tight. Went back for a follow up because my foot was swelling up like a balloon, cost 4000 baht just to change dressing and get anti-swelling medication. Check out the photo of my bill. Was there for 5 minutes - rip off. Better to go to Doctor Somboon, 300 baht for a dressing change and medications. Somboon’s staff said they’d seen other patients who had stitches too tight from this hospital. Glad I went to the hospital for emergency care, but be prepared to pay a premium for “luxury” medical care that will tack on extra unneeded services to fatten up your bill.

My husband was in a motor bike accident and received excellent care and treatment at this hospital. A doctor here in the US just removed his stitches and remarked what an excellent job their plastic surgeon did with all his facial sutures. I would like to personally thank all who helped us during this stressful time while we were vacationing. The hospital itself is just beautiful!

Only heard and had good experiences here. Went to Nakarin in Krabi and it was a horrible experience that left me feeling as though I was crazy to contact them and pay 5000b to leave with no testing or answers. I came here the next day and saw an amazing doctor that tested me, made me feel comfortable and seemed very knowledgeable. I left with medication, answers and at half the price of Nakarin. Highly recommend

Went in with girlfriend becauae she was having abnormal pain in her first trimester pregnancy. After waiting about an hour somone checked her blood pressure touched her stomach a couple time then left. Later they came back and said we had to come back tomorrow. The hospital charged me 1600 baht to wait 1.5 hours and to come back the next day.

My girlfriend had a blocked ear and ear pain after we went Scuba diving. The procedure in the hospital was fast and professional. The staff speaks good English. The doctor analyzed the ear and removed ear wax. She also prescribed some antibiotic ear drops. Now my girlfriend is feeling much better. We paid 3600 baht in total. So if you have an insurance that should be fine. To make some money they charge a 1200 baht hospital fee if you are there for the first time.

We received 5-star care here when my husband spent 3 days and 2 nights here with intense food poisoning. From the ambulance pick-up to the communication with the doctor to the attentive and gentle care from the nurses, everything was excellent. He is a former surgical nurse himself so really appreciated the care. The room was large, clean and private. No soap for hand washing in the bathroom but I was given a sofa to sleep on, a pillow and large over-sized towel that served as a blanket. Yes, it’s expensive by Thai public hospital standards but it is a private hospital and cheap by Canadian standards. Our entire ordeal came to 107K Baht (a little over $4200 in CAD funds). So why the 4 Stars?? The FOOD!!! It was beyond disgusting. For someone admitted with food poisoning, the choices of Cream of Shrimp soup for lunch, rubbery inedible eggs and stale oil chicken nuggets and cold fries was just inedible. The green drink tasted like sweetened Scope mouthwash. Perhaps they feed Asian patients better food and thought this was what we Canadiana would want but honestly a little white rice or broth would have been so much better! Ay (sp?) in admin who helped process our paperwork was an absolute delight and really made a difficult situation better. We were sent away with all the meds we needed and very grateful for travel insurance!

I had my week 12 & 16 antenatal scans here. The doctors were great. The same cannot be said for the hospital administration and nursing staff. I booked an appointment at 26 weeks to get a doctors certificate to fly home to the UK. I called twice before said appointment to confirm and double check both times appointment confirmed 7 days before flight. Arrived at the hospital for said appointment there are no doctors working no appointments available until after my flight. Cue a stressful and unessecary trail around krabi to find a clinic to obtain said certificate so I could make my flight. Based on the below reply from the hospital I changed my review to 1 star instead of 2 as the reply simply is not true there are no doctors here all week not just today despite making an appointment weeks ago. This is extremely frustrating as I CANNOT get on my flight without this document. Thank you Wattanapat for making the situation. So stressful.

I needed medical attention and was positively surprised by this hospital. Organized, clean, friendly and caring staff. By medical attention, nurses and medicine I paid about 4200 baht. The service gives you tranquility especially in an isolated place of Thailand. Its a new Hospital in Krabi.

The Hospital, physicians, nurses, accounting, and even the cleaning staff are outstanding. My wife was transferred to Wattanapat from a Koh Lanta clinic to follow up on scooter injuries requiring 30 stitches. Dr. Daranee Harper translated, coordinated care, and was consistently available over a 3 day inpatient stay. Dr. Porkit Boonkong performed surgery to repair the sutures from Koh Lanta, and visited his patient for follow up and discharge consultation. The finance manager Wilawan Banyongkanan demonstrated patience and understanding dealing with my infuriating health insurer. As a foreign traveler experiencing an emergency medical issue I learned these things:1. Wattanapat exceeded any hospital experience my wife knew in her 20 year career as a hospital administrator herself. 2. The level of care an concern for our well being from the time we entered the hospital until we boarded the ambulance (gratis) to the airport three days later was inspiring. 3. Foreign travelers should not expect insurance companies to be responsive, their business model is to delay, obfuscate and not to engage with hospitals. 4.Carry lots of space on multiple credit cards to pay up front, < $8K CAD for all our hospital services. From a North American context that was a bargain. Thanks to Wattanapat and the caregivers across the board

We paid for the health check program last year and tried to contact the hospital regularly but we got a restriction to come due to our resident is in the serious covid- break area . Until the last November we asked for the possibility again and the customer service told us it's free to come now whenever we are convenience. We went there last two weeks with a long distance drive then the front said your program was expired!! What?? The customer service who we keep contacting never told us about the expiry. Then we sent the refund form but still no update until now.

Wattanapat Hospital was amazing, I was constantly looked after, the staff were very attentive and helpful. The insurance correspondent was really helpful with talking to my insurance company whilst I was ill and I was very grateful to have everything arranged for me and I was informed as the process went along.

Had a very pleasant experience as a foreigner here. I had a severe ear infection and the otolaryngologist was great. She spoke very well English, was very attentive and gave me a very thought through medical prescriptions. I get ear infections quite a lot, so I know when I’m being treated properly. The hospital is also very modern, clean. It’s a nice experience. A bit pricey, yes, but you get a VIP treatment.

Had such a great experience (despite being sick) at this hospital. Got severe food poisoning came into the ER dept and got seen to straight away. Stayed for two nights. The room was huge and super clean and the staff, nurses and doctor were all so helpful and had great English. Put on a round of Antibiotics and fluid drips. Insurance department were effective and were able to sort it out with my insurance company quickly so was covered. On discharge I was sent home with all the documents and medicine with clear instructions on finishing the antibiotics. Thank you for looking after me!

I went to the hospital because I was sick probably from the air conditioning and probably had angina. There was no other option but to go to the doctor. The hospital pleasantly surprised me. Modern equipment, professional approach. They immediately asked us what we needed. They made an admission... they measured blood pressure, weight, height, etc. After 15 minutes of waiting, the doctor accepted me and examined me. She suggested a blood draw, covid test, flu and sent to the waiting room. They did my blood test within 5 minutes after the examination. The results came within about 30 minutes of sampling. The next consultation with the doctor based on the results was again very quick. I was given antibiotics, something for a cold, something for a sore throat, and some advice. I also contacted the insurance company with which I will close the accounts at home. Examination and medicine cost me 15,000 Baht. We paid on the spot and the insurance company will probably reimburse me at home. To sum up my impressions, great hospital, great attitude and I did not expect that in Thailand. Better than at home in the Czech Republic. You can pay by card and if I were seriously ill, I wouldn't be afraid to go here again. All the staff are smiling and that makes a person happy when he is not well.

I went to this hospital because of food poisoning, I was very tired, with fever and diarrhea. I was admitted for two nights and a little over one full day. Overall I'm very happy with my treatment - there rooms are surprisingly good, felt like a hotel stay with your private room and bathroom. The staff was very nice and competent and I'm grateful for their work and care. Already after the first night I felt much better and stronger. The only small complaint I have is about food - first it simply wasn't too tasty (and I'm not picky eater). Second, I had a very tired stomach and I'd appreciate a diet catered to it, yet it seems like no one really gave it any thought - once I was given, without consulting, a greasy pasta with bacon and garlic. Other time to the soup I ordered I was given bread that seemed deep fried. Is this really the best food for someone that was puking and didn't eat for 36h prior? My stay costed around 87k baht, was covered by insurance. All the paperwork was between insurer and the hospital, so I'm very happy I didn't have to worry about that in the state I was in.

We had to go to the hospital because of a monkey bite. We were looked after very well. The doctors speak good English and answer all questions. We were treated immediately, there was no waiting time. In between, the costs of the treatment were pointed out. You feel that you are treated much better here than in German hospitals and the price of the treatment seemed fair to us, although we will get it reimbursed by our insurance anyway.

I have been to this hospital twice; once for emergency surgery and the second time for follow up surgery. Both times were absolutely amazing. Everyone who works there is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I was very please with the care I received and the post op care I received. If you have private insurance, I highly recommend you come here. Even if you have to pay out of pocket, the prices are very reasonable. Not to mention, the hospital room has a great view! As an American, I’d take this hospital over one in my home country any day. This place is a great example of why Thailand has some of the best healthcare in the world! Thank you everyone at Wattanapat! Your care and kindness will not be forgotten.

Been in this hospital twice. Got the most amazing service both times. The staff speaks perfect English and really tries their best to make you as comfortable as possible. Broke my toe and the employee was promptly pushing me in a wheelchair in every step i had to take. Receptionist was the kindest and most helpful i encountered in Thailand so far!

If you are a tourist and don't have travel insurance that covers medical costs, avoid going to this hospital at all cost. They will rip you off with unrealistic expenses and you will feel cheated. They made a bill of 8000 Baht for doctor visit and XRay and were demanding 18000 Baht just to put a cast.

Ridiculous price. We only need the second shots for rabies vaccine due to the monkey bite, but were charged 1500 baht for the hospital fee and the total given fee is 3500baht/pax. We already filled the insurance company name but they seemed to be not care much, then we had to confirm again, somehow they reduced the price - 2790baht/pax. Very good private hospital. Excellent internal medicine doctors. Good and attentive nursing staff. Convenient and not crowded like public hospitals in Thailand. They have no specialty medicine doctors here, just general practitioners. However they have hospitals in other thailand cities so the specialists are available through their network

Just got released and the staff is very friendly and professional. I came here because of intense stomach pain. They treated me well, gave me a variety of painkillers and did a big set of diagnostics to make sure everything is fine. I spent 1 night in a clean room and had nurses available all the time. There is also a lot of English speaking staff, so if you're a tourist this makes it way easier. The price is high but that's what an insurance is for, right... I paid with my credit card and hope my insurance will accept the bill lol.

I’ve seen a few negative reviews so I thought I’d let you know that my experience was very good. Nov 2021. Hospital is clean and modern. English spoken at reception and by all staff we encountered. Don’t make an appointment by phone, they don’t understand English. We walked in and waited 20 minutes for an appointment with a specialist. They took my details and gave me my passport back immediately. I saw the ENT specialist and he was very thorough and professional. I was impressed with the examination and diagnostic process. A 30 minute consultation was 2,000 baht plus 500 baht for medicine. My wife had a Rabies shot that was a little expensive at 1500 baht, our previous shots elsewhere were 500 and 1000. We didn’t use insurance. Overall I’d go back here if I needed medical treatment in Krabi.

Horrible experience. Our 9 month old daughter had a cold and they suspected dengue feber. However, the first bloodtest ruled out dengue. From that point on the hospital suggested one invasive test after the other, all along planting fear in my wife and me of our daughter suffering from a severe desease, including several blood tests, xray, extracting spinal coard fluid etc. All along our daughter got better and better day by day but they didnt once take her wellbeing into consideration. By the end of the second day we made it very clear that we wanted to leave, but it took them 5 hours to find the antibiotics we needed before we could leave. They kept coming up with new excuses - the last one was That there was a problem with out insurance company, even though they provided the hospital with a payment warranty upon arrival. My wife and I have no doubt that the only aim of the hospital was to maximize the profit on us at the expense of our insurance company, but also risking our daughters wellbeing. The experience was the worst we have ever tried travelling, and we are now considering to disregard the last 10 days of our vacation and go back to Denmark asap. Could not recommend Wattanapet hospital to anyone and we Will never return. They should be ashamed of the shambolic hustle they put us through.

My husband had to go to the hospital with food poisoning, which he probably got from a vegetable salad on the flight out. After the hotel receptionist called the hospital and the ambulance arrived after about 10 minutes, he was immediately taken to the emergency room. When he arrived there, he was immediately examined by a doctor. While I completed the formalities (registration form, passport, AKV /ADAC). The nurse directly offered to arrange for the AKV to cover the costs herself. We were then given a list of the expected costs for transport, examinations, laboratory and inpatient admission for 2 days of around 50k - 60k THB. After he was cared for in the emergency room, he was moved to a modern single room with a kitchenette and an extra bed as well as pajamas and a filled toiletry bag. As a companion, I was immediately offered the option of sleeping there (at no extra charge). Here on the ward, too, the doctor came to visit me twice a day. Thanks to the competent treatment, he was able to leave the hospital the next afternoon, equipped with medication for the next 5 days and advised to come back if his condition worsened. When we were discharged, we received a copy of the detailed invoice for only 35k THB and confirmation from the AKV that the costs incurred would be paid directly to the hospital. We really recommend this hospital with the very friendly and competent staff recommend.

The care was good but this hospital is unbelievably expensive. They hold you hostage until you pay. My insurance was taking a while to approve my claim, so I paid by credit card so I could leave and not incur further expenses. My one night stay was 100,000 TB. My credit card limit maxed out for the day, so I had to wait until the next day to complete payment. Not many credit cards will allow you to pay that huge fee in one payment. I felt almost bullied about the money and ended up in tears. The accounts person was cold hearted. She hurried me to my room and told me to calm down and shut the door. No empathy whatsoever of the physical pain and trauma I was going through while trying to figure out how on earth I was going to pay them and get out of there.

We are foreigner here came for holiday. When our child down with high fever early in the morning, we rushed to this hospital as the only medical facilities that open and doctors available. The atmosphere of hospital was fresh, clean and bright. It was well organised. I would say medical facilities and services provided are good (free face mask provided, patients and guest are provided with mineral water). My child positive with influenza A and it was managed professionally to our utmost satisfaction. Kudos to staff and management of Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang.

Amazing service! Our daughter was surrounded with attention and care. They took an x-ray, put a bandage on my leg and gave me painkillers. The hospital is very clean, the staff is polite.

Unqualified employees use inappropriate words, especially in the surgery room.
