Kai Lon Cave was given it's name apparently by a local farmer who discovered it when searching for a missing chicken. The chicken fell through the hole in the cave roof, so the story goes. Kai Lon Cave is the third temple cave along route 3301. To get there go due west from Hua Hin on route 3218 for approx 31 km, then turn right onto route 3301 and follow for approx another 4 km until you see the turn off to Kai Lon Cave on the left. Follow the dirt track to the very end until you reach the temple and parking area. Kai Lon Cave gets few visitors due to it's remoteness and the rather arduous ascent up to the entrance; there is a steep, uninterrupted run of 200 steps directly from the parking area. Apparently this was the temple where the late king of Thailand spent some time as a monk.

Really beautiful cave, and not as busy as others around, quite a few steps up there but worth it at the top ❤️

This cave is very beautiful. Like usual, you need to walk a quite long way upstairs in the heat, but you'll be rewarded entering the cave. The cave has a very beautiful entrance and a big room, with a smaller room with a pagoda in it, behind it. In the big room there's also a hole in the ceiling, so light can come in and gives this very beautiful view.

This is called the Kailone cave and is an approximately 45 minute drive from Hua Hin city center. If you have rented transportation and are visiting Hua Hin and spend all your time in the bars, you are missing the natural beauty that is Thailand.

This is a beautiful and interesting place. The stairway up to the cave is long and the steps are uneven. (My watch told me I'd climbed the equivalent of 13 flights of stairs.) But, it's well worth the hike. I cycled here from Cha Am, so I was fairly beat already when climbing the stairs. Probably easier if you've driven. While here, might as well visit the nearby Lap Lae cave.

Awesome cave only 30 minutes away from Hua Hin town center. A staircase leads up the way to the cave from the parking space. Climbing up takes only 10-20 minutes. Up there you will find a view point and a beautiful cave with a shrine inside.

Steep steps to get to the temple, so you need to be fit, but worth it as there won't be many other visitors, and it is beautiful.

A long stair to the top, there is no lighting in the cave, but it is beautiful.

👍👍 This place is a gem , it's off the beaten track but well worth it !! The caves are well lit amd it's so quiet and peaceful - almost spooky ! With the odd sound of a bat or drip of water. The caves are stunning. When we arrived we were greeted by a man who gave us a torch each , we never had a guide...

👍 Dao (turtle) Cave: Dao cave is part of a temple complex which is 500 meters along route #3301. Enter the temple grounds and follow the signage to a parking area which is adjacent to the short cement stairway up to the cave entrance. The initial entry chamber is well lit with two large Buddha statues...
