Staff at the reception isn't very nice. No hello, no smile and let's you wait. The building is nice. Questionable hygiene at the pool. The "cleaning" is during daytime while guests are at the pool. For "cleaning" they scrub the walls of the pool but don't change the water. The bathroom of the pool and fitness-area doesn't have a hair drier.

The hotel facilities are old and the staff are very good and will deal with problems promptly. But the pool was very dirty. The pool has no water filtration system, there is a lot of tiny dirt floating in the water and the bottom of the pool and walls are covered in moss. You can see a big black patch evident in the photos, which was brought to the attention of the front desk, but it didn't help.

I have arrived to the hotel today and quickly do the checked in. I got the room on level 7 once I stepped in the room it was not clean up at all It was very disappointing. I quickly called to the reception and tell them what happened. The receptionist said can you wait there and cut off the phone. No apologies at all What kind of service was it? It’s going to be first and last time Thank you

As a general rule, photos of a hotel on their website should always be taken with a pinch of salt but for a 4* hotel, the standard of this hotel is ridiculously low. Upon arrival you are greeted by a friendly porter who takes you to your room and that’s when the charm ends. The room is grim and dirty, it has plaster crumbling from the ceiling, a mound of hair under the sink, and the toilet is caked in dirt. The furniture is old and the wires behind the beside cabinet are exposed. The staff do not update you that there will be a horrible noise coming from a performance directly outside your room and then racket is not aligned to the reality of relaxing. Worst of all, the dirt does not end in the room - we found an insect in our eggs at breakfast and this is when the whole hotel seems like a horrible joke gone wrong. Take my advice- DO NOT STAY HERE

It is a very old hotel without good maintenance, toilets and shower systems were not clean and looks mess, noise always from the upstairs and neighbors, but luckily the bedsheets were clean enough.

It is one of the best hotels in the area. If you like a quiet and calm environment, then this is the place to be. It is situated away from all the hustle-bustle of Chiang Mai. The property is very huge. The lobby feels like luxury with wooden flooring and all. The rooms are also big but they have an old-school vibe. It feels like you are 50 years back in time. The bathroom however is modern and well equipped. Overall, a great place to stay.

I stay 3 night, room is nice and clean, my room have 2 beds. I like the toilet with many narural materials, one point i think i dont like is the yellow light in the room in night, it make little bit dark. The rest is very well for me as well as the price. The receptionist also very kind, he help me where to rent the motor bike, book for us the driver visit to Chang rai, ... when come back Changmai i will come again, thanks for the service.

This old hotel has a lot of character. It is right next to Kad Suan Kaew, an old department store that has a supermarket and many other shops. I stayed at this hotel years ago and it still looks the same with the exception of how they have renovated the fitness room. For the price you pay, this is the hotel to stay at if you want to work out, swim or enjoy a room with all the standard amenities. However, it is not the place to stay if you're looking for a high quality breakfast buffet that has a variety of nice food in a nice, quiet environment. Be warned, a lot of tour groups crowd out the main breakfast room at certain times of the morning. Due to the fact of there being mostly large round tables, you may have to sit with other people or sit in close proximity to others in the crowded space where tables and chairs are stuffed in. One morning as we were getting up to leave, I noticed that they did open another room at the back of the main breakfast room that was free of the throngs of the loud people in tour groups. Also, the large white tablecloths were not as stained as the main breakfast room. Regardless, I was quite surprised by the manners of many guests in the tour groups who had no problem pushing by where I was sitting. They kept bumping or touching my chair as they passed when they could have simply walked past more carefully if they were not in such a rush to attack the tables of food. I fully realize that the hotel cannot control the actions and poor manners of their guests, but they can ensure that the tablecloths on the breakfast tables are not as stained and dirty as I saw them on the days that we were there. (I suggest that they cover their tables in plastic to ensure there are white tableclothes underneath rather than having stained tableclothes everywhere.) Apart from the breakfast experience, I would recommend this hotel and I plan on staying here again as it is a nice hotel with a modern fitness room, but I will simply insist on sitting in the back breakfast room, away from all the tour groups.

Amazing staff. Great dim-sum. The room was old and dated. Super creepy and haunted. Kept hearing foot steps, breathing, light flickering, and at one point dust in the air. So awesome. So much culture. Will deff come back to investigate the room.

Avoid this location; the rooms are outdated, the staff struggles with English, and their customer service is lacking. I recommend seeking an alternative. On a positive note, the bellboy, the strong gentleman in the parking lot, is delightful—he is helpful, friendly, and the sole redeeming aspect of this hotel. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff falls short.

One of the best old Grand Hotels. Big rooms, daily cleaning, good wifi, free pool and gym. Good breakfast if you choose at booking. One thing not good - you have to walk down 10 steps with food on your hands till sitting area. It's a really mission because there are no trays you have to bring down everything one by one. 5-10 trips. Crazy.

For the price, it's a bargain. But the location is far from good. 15 min walking to any fun whatsoever

Great value for money! Grand old hotel with nice public spaces. Love the retro vibes and wooden decor. Cozy clean bedroom. Convenient location.

Classic old Thai hotel. Generally quiet except for too many loud motorcycles. Rooms are large. Beds on the firm side.

The room is in need of renovation, the faucet on the sink is loose, the paint is crumbling from the ceiling. The room had a connecting door to another room, which was very negative, you could hear the guests of the next room talking half the night. There is a large pool and a reasonably well equipped fitness center.

Very nice situated and good quality / price, just the swimming pool is really not clean (green…) and rooms were not super clean either. Nice service though, we have checked out 2 hours later from original time and it was ok. Nice breakfast too!

More elegant place. I like the clean cool style here. Lovely cakes, coffee and tea. Softdrinks, beer and vine. Yes and wishy and vodka also.
