Love this place not only for its rooms but for the very accommodating staff. We stayed at the 3rd floor room with city view it was a good sized room with balcony if you smoke or want to enjoy coffee in the morning. We arrived early morning before the rooms were ready and left way past checkout time. Both times we were able to leave our stuff in the common room and use the shower without extra cost. Don’t expect much about breakfast as there are only 2 items on the menu American breakfast and healthy breakfast. But they serve good coffee.

If all places were like this, travelling would be so much greater. service was good, the room was clean, modern and had everything we needed for a small price. easy to walk to everything important and has private parking for rented motorcycles. we did not try the breakfast.

Our room was decently priced and the bed was comfortable. The room had all the normal hotel amenities, plus the balcony was a nice addition too. But the reason I am writing this review is for the coffee. Each day I would order the cappuccino and my wife would order the thai tea latte; both were excellent. Highly recommended!

I felt at home indeed at this small, but so charmful hotel. I became friend with the staff just at first talks : ) Nice and spacious room with great design. What a comfortable stay! And they gave me a full refund upon my early check-out. No silly "hotel policy" deduction.

It's so nice to experience a hotel so well designed and built. Arak should serve as a model for how to do high-quality construction, electrical, plumbing, fixtures and furniture in a pleasant lodging. A word of advice though; ask for a room away from Thanon Boonruangrit, the really busy and noisy main road along the moat.

I love this place, totally! Even if it is right on the main road but I didn't feel the noise at all. I stayed in a Double room on the second floor, which is quite big and has more than enough facilities. I could conclude It's handy but very convenient.

Small café attached to the hotel. They have free wifi. An iced latte costs 55 Baht but all coffee's are 5 Baht off if you bring your own cup. It was a pretty decent latte for 50 Baht

Try Iced cocoa 55 ฿. This place is quiet in the center of old city.

Quaint & Beautiful Place in the Heart of Chiang Mai I went to Chiang Mai during an off-peak season and it was before Thailand had actually opened up for no quarantine travel. Turns out I was the only guest in the hostel during my stay and nevertheless despite that, their staff Pim and Perng were really accommodating and super nice everyday of my stay. Arak Hostel is situated in the middle of Nimman area and Old City so most places were about 5-10min drive away, which was great. In Chiang Mai, there are no public trains or buses so you would have to either take the Rod Daeng (Red Buses/Trucks) which is their main transport, or take a Grab, or if the location is too far out or its too late, you can always engage a private driver (a little more expensive but they stay with you till youre done). Pim and Perng introduced markets (Sunday Walking Market), cafes (cat cafes and cool cafes) and things to do and were always there to strike conversations with you, have Google translate accessible on your phone and endless conversation will flow! It was a really heartwarming stay as I was the only guest the entire time but they really have made me feel right at home and I feel like I've made some great friends! Super clean, peaceful and very well-maintained, they also have a cafe at the lobby with great coffee, so if you were to visit Chiang Mai, you definitely have to stay at Arak Hostel!

This place is decent, nice as a hotel, if you’re after a hostel/party vibe, maybe not for you. Not really the best view where it states ‘mountain view’, and you’re on the main road of the square so traffic is noisy none stop. Other than the noise, no complaints.

Loud road adjacent, so take this into account. The sink didn’t flow properly in room 4, the shower had a bit of a smell. Location is great and it prices are very low, but not uncommonly low for Thailand.
