Nice view for sunset as well. While watching sunset, there are people trying to go up to the drum/bell tower for a better sunset shot. BUT please be aware that WOMEN ARE PROHIBTED TO GO UP THERE. unfair but it is a local tradition so please keep in mind.

the temple is located at the top of a hill to the west of the city (about 7 minutes and 3.2km from Nan National Museum).  Very nice view of the valley and the city.  As the view is to the east, the best time is to come in the late afternoon.  Access by car with parking at the top but it is also possible to stop halfway up the hill and climb the stairs for the more athletic.  We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and the sun was already very low in the west with low light over the valley.

Always a great Wat to visit. This is especially so if you are a photographer. The golden Buddha is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.. The Buddha with the vista of Nan in the background is stunning. Allow plenty of time before and after the sunset/sunrise as the sky color changes just keep on giving. Also look at all the other beautiful structures in the precincts of the Wat. Highly recommend a visit.

No luck on me. I’ve to this place many times and the view point is good. You can see Nan city and stunning Buddha statue together. This time it was raining like crazy. I couldn’t see anything but still enjoying the scenery. Don’t forget to take the stairs. You will tried for sure but it absolutely worth it to slow enjoy the journey and rewarded by stunning view.

The temple is on the mountain, the way go to the temple is slightly steep but not difficult. The view point is the back of the temple, has to walk a little further. If go early in the morning, might be able to see the sunrise there. Most importantly, the cats at the temple are very cute.

A scenic spot overlooking the city of Nan. The temple is located on top of a mountain, so it is a difficult place to walk or cycle. Let's go by car or bike.

Wat Phra That Khao Noi is located up on the hill. So, visitors are able to enjoy the bird's-eye view of Nan city center.

Wat Phra That Khao Noi is one of the famous temple in Nan province, it's located up on the mountain, where the Buddha stands facing out to the city. You can either drive up to the mountain, or you can park your car down hill and walk up from the stairs at the side. The temple area is well organized, a lot of local tourists visiting the temple for sightseeing and of course to worship the Buddha too.

Sitting on top of a hill to the south-west of Nan, Wat Phra That Khao Noi has a golden Buddha statue that commands views across the valley. It is worth the short drive out of town.

You can walk 303 steps stair up, or drive up to see this Buddhist temple on the top of a hill overlooking Nan with beautiful view of the city. There is a huge standing Buddha statue gazing also with you at Nan. The temple is a typical Buddhist temple and is relatively small. On the other side of the temple there is another statue of one of historic Nan ruler on a back of a horse. I was told people come to this temple on top of the hill to view sunrise or sunset. I was there during day time. Do not miss it if in Nan, Thailand.

Visit 29/3/2019. Views of Nan are great if not for the smoke haze. Visit on a clear day.
