Furama had some great aspects. The hot water, zippy elevators, lobby and upper pool were really nice. But our room had several items that were broken/worn/lacking. The building exterior needs a power wash and paint, balconies are dirty and devoid of furniture. The general sense is of deferred maintenance and post-pandemic catch-up. Perhaps the mountain view side of the hotel has nicer rooms? The other issue for us was that it’s set off the very busy road, which made it nice and quiet, but limited access to only one entrance onto that busy road. The other entrance to a quiet road was gated off. Those who prefer walking instead of taxis will be going far out of their way to access the vibrant food streets nearby. The buffet breakfast was listed as one price at check-in, but 40 baht higher 2 days later. Sorry, that’s just poor customer service. So, no, would not recommend.

The hotel is very dated. Room is extremely spacious, much bigger than most of newly built accommodations. The king size bed is fine. Towels and sheets are mostly new. The fridge is not working part from making loud buzzing noise. Gym has very limited equipment and they seem all older than me. The rooftop swimming looks nice but you have no view if you get into it. Also you will be exposed to the walking traffic to the bar and restaurant next door, no relaxation. However the location and service were good. Very friendly staff. For the price they charge at the moment, I really cannot complain. If you want budget price in an once-being fancy hotel, then it could be a good option.

Location will be convenient for those who drive. Overall, I find that pricing is really the most outstanding selling point for this hotel. Great strategy by the management. Stayed in a 2 bedroom and the place is clean and spacious. Air con works fine in the living room and 2 bedrooms. TV comes with several international channels which I'm very pleased with. As I'm staying on a high floor, I got an amazing unblocked view. Breakfast is good I've nothing to complain about. Hope more people will choose to stay here as this is the only thing missing for such a value-for-money accommodation!

The staff are wonderfully kind! The hotel is not a luxury destination, but for me it was totally worth the price. The room was spacious, comfy (lots of wood cabinetry, furniture and floors) and clean. 5 stars for value.

We carelessly left my son's favourite toy airplane in the room. Three days after check-out, I contacted the hotel staff via email for lost and found, and the housekeeping had found the toy. I was able to get it back. Very thankful for the helpful service. Rooms are old but clean and spacious. Location is very convenient, short and easy walk to Maya and Nimman area. Service staff are warm, friendly and helpful.

Power Outage in Room, Poor Staff Response Unfortunately, my room experienced a power outage. I approached the front desk twice about this issue. The first time, I'm not sure if it was due to my polite demeanor, but they didn't seem to grasp the severity of the situation and didn't address it promptly. I was without electricity! Out of necessity, I went downstairs a second time, and only then did they say they would handle it. By the time I got back to my room (as there were many guests, I couldn't immediately take the elevator), the power had already been restored. This indicates either: 1. They entered my room before I got back? 2. No staff actually attended to the issue and it restored automatically? Either way, I find both possibilities deeply concerning. Moreover, no one provided any explanation or offered any compensation. I have all the videos and evidence from that time in my possession. Don't bother trying to refute me if you wish for me to further publicize it online.

A very old building. This could be one of the best hotel back in 20 years ago but not now. Great value and room size, the heater is very hot but the water is too small. Good to stay for normal travel plan but if you want to enjoy hotel room. This is not the one to consider.

Only main door able to locked, the rest of the door (room door, toilet door) all cannot lock. The lighting wire from wardrobe was tear down. Room light not bright n very yellow. Bathtub area with metal are rusty. Breakfast are ok Location are ok Value for money - it’s depend Overall we have pleasant stay, nothing happen over the night. Timid guy maybe need to consider before u book

The cleaning is terrible! Don’t make any reservation here, I found hair in my bathroom, everything dirty, and they don’t refund money, the attention is terrible. I would like to show you the pictures, is my first time I found something like that, even paying less, the places was clean, but here is expensive and so dirty!! I show the pictures to the manager Juan and he said that the recommendation is to book one day and first see the hotel or change!!!! You can believe! Any solution.

Recommended for those who prioritize views and room size. It may not be suitable for those who value the modernity of the exterior, lobby, etc., or the cleanliness of the rooms and pool. When I visited, the first room I was shown was not cleaned well, so I asked them to clean it again. Then the hotel asked me to move to a different room because the TV seemed to be working poorly. I was moved to a very spacious room, which was nice. The hotel was very professional and agreeable during that time. The hotel staff was very responsive throughout the duration of our stay and we did not feel any discomfort. Depending on what you are looking for in a stay in Chiang Mai, this hotel may be sufficient in terms of affordability.

Hotel over all is good and comfortable. The roof top has a nice restaurant bar, pool, and a beautiful view of the city, worth going up to check it out. There is also a well equipped gym, and another pool at ground level. Breakfast is very good and has a wide selection.

A big hotel but quite old establishment. Rooms are big but run down. Breakfast is good. Nice view form the 18th floor roof top with cafe and live music. Hotel is popular for group traveler. Not near to old city. Nothing to do around.

This hotel is always top of my list whenever I visit Chiang Mai. Service staff are very hospitable and prompt in answering service calls. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is conveniently located near a shopping malls and many good eateries are around the vicinity.

The hotel is in a really bad shape, very old. Dropped and earring under the bed and found out It hasn’t been properly cleaned in years… old stuff and tons of dust. Dark and dusty, old carpets. Would have never book this hotel, but it was part of a tour…

This place is a bit far away from the most happening area which is old town. But closer to Maya shopping mall and walking distance to nimman road. Service is amazing. Rooms are amazing too!

Like a lovable auntie, this hotel wears its years well. It will thrill US fans of the mid-century modern revival. Though the "Asian modern" era is later & more diverse (Cambodia was a regional highlight, believe it or not), Furama has the luxuries & looks of 1980s hotels that dominated after the Vietnam War. Nice people & breakfast too, though the larger pool is closed -- water conservation has other hotels closing theirs in off-season.

We stayed here several times. It's my favourite place to stay near Maya that is budget friendly and suitable for kids. The hotel is old, means the room space is bigger and has bathtub. Hotel also has sauna room, gym, swimming pool, old pop shop nearby and walking distance to old city, Nimman area and CMU.

Nice but overpriced, the service is good, Great location near Maya mall. Rooms are old bathrooms are in severe need of up gradation. showers are ancient. Didn’t enjoy taking a shower her.

We booked the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom for a family of 4 adults and 1 baby. Its an old hotel across Maya mall and Nimman area. All about 10 minutes walking distance. Its located in a small street. The corridor to the rooms were dim and no aircon. The unit was spacious with kitchen area (no cooking) with microwave, fridge and sink. A dining area and living area. Bedroom and bathrooms were huge. Overall livable for short 6 day trip for families.

We were very impressed with this hotel. Good value for money. Even included breakfast. The rooms have a small kitchen, good bathroom and comfortable beds with air con, cable and a balcony. Pool of course and restaraunts. My only negative but not a big deal rooms are a bit outdated but are very clean just the same. Transfers to middle of town only 120 baht. Big shopping centre opposite also. 15 min to airport. We would stay here again.

you could see that the hotel is not in its best era but the overall hotel atmosphere is great. spacey room, comfy large beds. clean surroundings and located near the city center. plenty of parkings. the breakfast was not so good but compared to the price, this is a lot more than i paid for.

The hotel is clean and nice, there is a sauna, swimming pool. The staff is courteous, location is great I would say one of the best. If you take the top floors, the rooms have a view of the mountain.

The rooms are quite spacious but a little bit old but it's ok. Location wise is good, just across some of the major shopping malls.

Stayed for a week, establishment is slight aged but still well run. Reviews were accurate the room is probly the largest you can find in town for this price (Agoda) which is a big plus. Very comfortable stay but took abit of getting used to one the first night, abit dark can be mistaken for creepy. But we had no issues during our stay.

Dear Management, Greetings! I would like to thank your hotel for giving the best, outrageous and professional hospitality service during our stay. Your Front Desk has upgraded us to Deluxe, and guided us accordingly to our inquiries, the restaurant has good services and food, the rooms are well prepared and cleansed with good air-conditioning. I will surely promote your hotel on website. I would like to give good review at Agoda too.. Thank you so much and Will surely come back. Regards, Joe Smith Medina

Furama Chiang Mai hosts beautiful views as well as luxurious as spacious rooms at a great price. Not to mention the amazing rooftop pool. The staff is friendly, helpful and like many places in Chiang Mai speak great English. I would recommend staying at Furama Chiang Mai to anyone looking to relax with some luxury.

Hope this info is useful! I used the connecting family room pretty big with kitchen and living room toilet includes a jacuzzi that you could enjoy the view of Maya's light up during night time think cheapest room is around 1000 baht . Great pool, sauna and gym lacation is close to Maya department, Niman, Just 10mins drive to Night brazaar and Central Plaza and 12 mins drive to Central Festival. If your looking for luxury with great location access to departments and city this hotel, Grand View Chiang Mai and Eastin hotel is best match but if you want same luxury and surrounded by tourist attractions I recommend Le Meridian, Duangtawan and DusitD2 or Dusit Princess not really recommending Royal Lanna because it's too old.

Great facility to stay but has certain very serious security issues Pros and Cons Pros 1) Neat and clean rooms 2) Helpful and courteous employees - specially team FO, HK and F&B 3) Every room has a jacuzzi Cons 1) The swimming pool on the 17th level has a maximum depth of 1.70 meter as it mentions written on the floor. My height is 5 feet and 8.5 inches. I could stand 100% submerged with at least another feet of water level above my head which means the water level is actually 6.5 - 7.0 feet deep in realty. Which means 1.9 - 2.1 meters depth. 2) With this kind of depth and wrong information mentioned, there were no life tubes or life jackets or life saving hooks or any sort of safety equipment's present. Upon placing this request a life tube / buoy along with a 2 ft long wooden stick was placed on the following day. Not expected this from an international chain such as FURAMA. 3) The holding bar with steps attached which assists any person to climb up and down the pool is supposed to be present at the shorter end of the pool where there is least depth as per law. But in this case it is present on the deepest point. How do you expect a person who knows basic swimming or is a beginner and uses the pool for leisure purpose since this is a hotel and not an Olympic ground to climb down the pool comfortably from the deepest point and then swim across to the shallowest point? Not sure how did this pass the security inspection by the government to obtain license to operate? 4) Lack of presence of any General Manager to interact with the guests. Even after raising my concerns and a potential accident scenario which almost occurred with my family, there was no communication or interaction from any senior management. However, the front office head did a great job. They did mention that the pool comes under the F&B department to be taken care off and will inform them to place the necessary safety equipment's. My suggestion is to place all safety equipment, relocate the grab bar with stairs at the end with least depth and correct the wrong information of depth of pool mentioned on the ground. This is the least that can be done if one cannot deploy a swimming pool attendant due to lack of manpower during these difficult times. 5) Level 15th has an oval structure on the left hand as you come out of the guest elevator. There is an attic above this structure which is completely dark and is filled with bats inhabiting in them. I could see at least 10-15 of them hanging and flying around. That's seriously not expected from an international chain calling themselves a 4 star product. Not acceptable. 6) There is a honey bee hive present on one of the floors and it is clearly visible from the main porch area. I was staying on the 15th level and these honey bees used to roam around outside my window all the time. That's risky and not acceptable from FURAMA as a brand at all as I had windows in my room but couldn't enjoy fresh air due to this.
