😠 Horrible service. Food was ok, massaman curry was nice even, but everything was totally eclipsed by the ultra bad service. The wait staff looked like they didn’t want to be there n didn’t want anyone to be there at all because we were a bother to them and it showed in their behaviour. The waitress... People often mention Thai, good, didn, table, fried,

I don't know why the reviews are so bad... The food is fabulous, especially the shrimp cake, pad Thai, pineapple rice, kimchi ramyeon, seaweed, tobboki. It's a huge variety of Korean and Thai food. Really love it, we came back twice!

Horrible service. Food was ok, massaman curry was nice even, but everything was totally eclipsed by the ultra bad service. The wait staff looked like they didn’t want to be there n didn’t want anyone to be there at all because we were a bother to them and it showed in their behaviour. The waitress didn’t greet or welcome or even bother to smile when we went in. Just waved us in instead of showing us to a table. She didn’t smile when she finally came to take orders. When she walked away, she was almost rolling her eyes. When she served our drinks, she just plonked them at the edge of the table n dumped the straws on the table instead of serving the 2 drinks to us. And when another waitress brought a dish to our table, she plonked it at the edge of the table n didn’t bother to clear the empty plates. Subsequently she walked past again and saw that we had piled up our dishes - I saw that she had seen the pile of dishes- but she walked right on leaving us to partake of our remaining dishes with the pile of unsightly plates on the table. Seriously, if you don’t wish to serve customers, don’t be a waitress; be a dishwasher or kitchen hand unseen by customers. I hope the owner sees these real reviews about their wait staff who ensure that we never want to go back regardless of the food. If they don’t believe these reviews they should send some people to go and dine incognito and see for themselves. In a nutshell, if you want to enjoy a meal, do yourself and your fellow diners a favour- DON’T GO TO BASIL THAI. P.S. There were only 3 tables of diners; it wasn’t like the restaurant was crowded n they couldn’t cope; they simply couldn’t be bothered to ensure you didn’t have a negative dining experience.

The overall food is so so only. Good to come here to grab a meal. Portion is a bit small, good for small eaters. Staff is limited, good to be patient when here. We also had the lime soda and Thai tea, cup is generally small also. If you want to quench your thirst, you will need another cup.

We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon. Dining room was busy and loud, which isn't a bad thing. There are two different menus on offer. Bonchon Korean food and Basil Thai food. Most of the customers were eating off the Korean menu and we should have too we ordered a seafood fried rice, larb with chicken and vegetable spring rolls. The staff were lovely. The food came out in less than 5 minutes which I found suspect. The larb was salty, the fried rice wasn't fresh and the spring rolls were good. We only ate the spring rolls. I won't post pics of the Thai menu or food. I would give the Korean menu a try though. The food looked pretty good. Now we head next door to get a pizza!

Great restaurant with authentic and delicious Thai food. It was so good that we went back twice. Partly also due to the lack of food variety in the Mai Khao area. We enjoyed every dish that we ordered. The kids love it too. The pad Thai and the chicken wings are a must try. Love the Tom yum soup in both clear and creamy broth too. Both tasted great!

A nice authentic Thai restaurant at a reasonable price. The place is open and clean. Service is friendly. Food quality is good. They have amusement music at night. Although there is not much live seafood to choose from but the shrimp dish is excellent.

On our last day at Phuket, we decided to have lunch at Basil Thai Kitchen Turtle Village. Ordered the dishes we liked. The food was great, and not pricey at all.

Far away in this Mai Khao area, if you need to get a quick fix on Thai food, and not being too fussy, Basil Thai actually serves quite legit local food at reasonable price.

What a horrific first meal in Thailand. Portions were minute, smaller than what my 6 year old can eat. And everything was sweet. We ordered - Vegetarian Pineapple fried Rice - was tiny, sweet and had prawns - Basil minced beef with Rice - it was 90% rice and 10% beef - Cashew fried chicken - it is usually supposed to be spicy sweet, but this was sweet The only 2 items that tasted decent were the stir fried morning glory and the fried chili seabass. And the service, surprisingly for Thailand, was terrible. Half the time the staff were at their counter with all the ladies shouting and laughing loudly. Very loudly. Never coming back here.

Our family of five ate here dying our stay at the Marriott Phuket Beach Club! We got a quick dinner here and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The service was very good and we finished our meal with the mango sticky rice which was very tasty.
