After visiting a few authentic Thai restaurants, this one is my favorite, and it's no wonder, they got a Michilin Star for 2023. The decoration is of the of the King Rama 6-7 era, heavily Chinese inspired. It feels comfortable and cozy, almost like eating at grandma's house. The staffs are friendly and helpful, she explained that the building was built in 1939, but they converted it into a restaurant in 2018, using some of the family's recipe as the menu. The dishes are of local traditional Thai food, these are different than traditional Thai food. The Southern food, I would say is heavier on the flavor. The ingredients used I presumed are of local origin as many of them are grown nearby. Be sure to try the recommended dishes, those are really good. The bad news, all of the dishes are so good it's hard to stop eating which is bad for your waist line.

We had dinner here on a rainy Saturday evening, so not sure about the scenery or the rooms as a hotel. As for the restaurant, it's not too big, you should book ahead if you want to make sure you get a table. The menu is not big enough to get completely lost in, but it has a wide selection. Most of the dishes will feature some kind of seafood. We ordered four dishes, all were very delicious, no complaints at all (which is rare). Service was also good. The restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide 2023. While a bit pricey for Thailand, compared to Phuket horror prices, completely reasonable. A note on driving here: watch out for Google navigation, it wants you to turn onto dirt roads roads or roads that simply don't exist. Just stay on the paved roads until the entrance of the hotel, from there it's a road made out of rocks for a few meters until the parking lot.

Perfect setting for delicious local Thai cuisine which is home cooked using family recipes. Must come again to try other dishes. One surprising thing - their cakes and tarts are also really delicious with local coffee

Great homey restaurant serving southern food with Chinese style. The place is not very large so better reserve in advance. Love the decoration. Just about 15 minutes drive from the airport so it's a great choice before your flight. Must try - fried pork, yellow soup with fish, the veggie (cannot remember the name haha) PS - They have free rice available and some snacks that you can enjoy by yourselves while the dishes are prepared.

Love this place. Historic place. It's open as a restaurant, hotel stay and a museum. We tried the food here and it was so good. It was unique and from local area. Some ingredients made from their garden. All the staff were friendly and attentive and they all speak english well.

The heritage hotel is beautiful, both interior with all the unique antiques and the exterior with a minimalist garden. The Michelin bib gourmand dishes were up to the mark. I'd recommend the spicy fish soup, deep fried sausage, curry pork and the cocktails. The signature fried noodles was a little too sweet for my liking. The prices were of hotel standards.

I came to visit with a group of unprivileged Thai children. Because this place has a similar mission than ours, it did not charge our group to visit the premises. It's quite a charming spot with a beautiful history. I only got to taste their coffee but I'll definitely come back again to try the restaurant.

Atmosphere inside restaurant very cozy with lots of decoration. Instagram worthy. Menu is extensive with a photo for each dish and explanations help with food selections. All items we ordered delicious & flavourful (except the massaman chicken - too sweet) Service prompt and food arrives quickly. The last order stops at 8:30pm and we saw potential customers bring turned away. Ingredients used in the food are fresh and high quality. Worth paying for the food and ambience.

My wife and I dropped in for dinner and very much enjoyed the meal, atmosphere and history of the house. The food features many local ingredients and it showed in the result. Absolutely delicious dinner. The gift store and museum are well worth a visit.

Really delicious food. We tried the fried noodles which were great, and the massaman curry was excellent. Fried rice was bland in comparison but overall a truly authentic culinary meal. The surroundings are also beautiful and the old is a museum packed with items from yesteryear ((1936). Also, games for kids and the staff were all attentive and we loved it.

I came here 2 days in a row for authentic Thai food at a quaint historical home/restaurant/museum. I also had the same meal courses: crab fried rice, sea bass, mole crabs, fried marinated pork belly, if you stay at any resort in Mai khao, you have to eat here. Reservations recommended. Place is nicely lit at night

Delicious Southern Thai food. I understand why this is a Michelin-star restaurant. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We were lucky to get to the restaurant before their busy hours. Most of the tables seemed booked on Friday evening for dinner. Their fried crabs and sausage dishes are outstanding.

What a great find! Booked after reading up about the place and the great reviews. Wasn't sure how the transport would work but it was 500baht from mai Khao and the taxi waited for us for up to 3 hours. The cocktails were interesting with a definite herbal base. Food was beautifully presented and definitely on the spicier side than we'd been eating but absolutely delicious and manageable. Staff were lovely and we even walked back in daylight to visit the museum we'd missed. Keep up the great work for your community!

Delicious and flavourful thai food. Have to say that the Thai tea here is one of the best we’ve had, so rich. We loved the decorations as well, very vintage Chinese (the house was founded in the 30s by Chinese descendants). If time allows, make sure you visit the museum next door in the main house, it’s a place full of love and emotions (no spoiler here with pictures)

We love the place, the history, and the home-cook feel of food! We like the Chinese-style decorations and attention to detail. The humble owner who is already wealthy but wants to do this business to support locals and creates jobs—well done! We would come back to try other dishes.

I liked the green curry and the Tom yum. I didn't like the fried rice nor pad Thai. I was okay with the black sauce pork. Plenty of prawns served overall. Perhaps very Instagram place/spot.

Really delicious food served here. Ordered 5 dishes recommended by the waitress and was very satisfied with everyone of them. Ambience is one of the main attractions here. Very quaint Chinese ancient decoration.

Such a good restaurant! Although we ate at some great little places all over Phuket, this one stands out a cut above. I loved the crab curry, and the red rambuten curry especially, but everything we had was so good. The staff are really lovely too. Great spot!

Great authentic local food. Crispy rice is tasty. Every disc come from local family and they also support nearby local communities. There is also a museum which take you about an hour to explore.

Nice restaurant, I love the decorations! Vintage Sino-Thai decor. Food is ok, tried Phuket Sausage and crab fried rice, very good, the other meals are from above average to good. The signature deep fried noodles is very confusing, it’s the mix of excellent and strange! Yet, worth to try! Staff is just OK. Can’t complain but I expect more interaction with them.

A charming and delightful place to stay or visit. While a bit on the expensive side, the restaurant and homestay are memorable and well worth a visit. And even better if you can do homestay where you'll pretty much have the historic home to yourselves as currently only hosting one couple. A tasteful restoration by grandson (or great grandson) of original owner, is enhanced by addition of modern art, including some from the children the social enterprise supports.

Siam was incredible - his service and kindness was unparalleled. The decor is beautiful / you feel like you’re on a street back in Penang! Food is stunning. Highly recommend the slow stewed pork and the chicken curry. 10/10! Come in the daytime too - the lake looks beautiful.

Found this place from Michelin Guide of Phuket. As we landed around noon time and the place wasn’t far from the airport so we decided to give it a try. We were lucky to be able to experience this amazing place without prior reservation (highly recommend to book in advance as seatings are limited). The menus available in this place aren’t commonly found in any other restaurants. The taste was great and authentic. The pineapple juice is nicely different and fresh. The old house which is converted into a museum of the family where the entrance fee is donated to help underprivileged children in the community nearby is a plus and a must visit.

Great restaurant using local produces. We ordered all the signatures dishes including crispy pork, rice noodle, red curry and they all taste very nice. The decor has chinese influence and the restaurant looks great at night when the tree lights up. Remember to book in advance given the limited seatings.
