" The Tripura Sundari Temple" is a Hindu temple of the Goddess Tripura Sundari, known as Devi Tripureshwari. It is one of 51 Shakti peeths in India. Local people informed that Mother's right foot was dropped at Radhakishorepur village near Udaipur in Tripura. The temple is situated in the ancient city of Udaipur, about 50 km from Agartala, Capital of state Tripura. We may reach here by train and by road from Agartala. It is known to be one of the greatest Hindu temple North East part of our country. In North-East India, after Kamakhya Temple in Assam, visitors come here to worship. The state of Tripura is named after this temple. It is also known as Matabari. You may come here with family and friends to worship. You may spend 1-2 hours here. At 8 PM, you can present yourself in Aarti. Construction work is going on in this temple for increasing facilities to visitors. All places in this temple are neat and clean.

One of the 51 shaktipeeths situated in Udaipur town of Gomathi district in Agartala, the Tripura Sundari temple can be reached by road as well as train from Agartala railway station. The holy place boasts many names to itself like Rajarajeshwari, Shodashi, Kamakshi, and Lalita. It is said that the 'right foot' of Mata Sati fell here on the south-western outskirts of Udaipur town. This pithasthan is also known as Kurma Peeth because the shape of the temple premises resembles that of a kurma (tortoise). The idol stands in the sanctum sanctorum and is made of reddish black stone, popularly known in Bengali as Kashtipathar. The temple has a big lake known as Kalyan Sagar which is full of fishes and tortoises. The devotees feed them with puffed rice and biscuits. Every year during Diwali, a mela is organised which is visited by lakhs of pilgrims. As Prasad, devotees offer pedas to Maa and take them home for friends and relatives. Shops selling Prasads, incense sticks, flowers etc. are present in large numbers. I feel immensely lucky and happy after visiting this holy place. The view is a little distorted as of now as a huge structure is being constructed around the temple for the comfort of the devotees. Jai Mateshweri Devi.

Tripurasundari Temple is located 55kms away from Agartala in a place named Udaipur. You can reach this place by road way or by a direct train from Agartala. This temple is known to be 500 years old and one the oldest temples in the country. The Goddess Tripureshwari is worshipped here and commonly called MataBari. The gate is re-built into a gate made of pure silver .Currently construction is going on. As you enter different amount of donations need to be given as per your offering. I offer a saree and silver Diya so I had to pay 40/- for saree and extra 20/- for Diya. The daily Aarti time is mentioned. The pond has so many fishes and tortoises .

According to mythology, Lord Vishnu had cut off the body of Mata Sati into 51 pieces with his ‘Sudarshana Chakra’ and all these pieces fell at different places throughout the country and these places are known as ‘Shaktipeeths’. It is said that 'right foot' of Mata Sati fell at Matabari on the south-western outskirts of Udaipur town. This ‘pithasthan’ (centre of pilgrimage) is also known as Kurma Pith because the shape of the temple premises resembles that of "Kurma" or tortoise. The idol of ‘Maa Kali’, presiding deity of the temple, stands in the sanctum sanctorum and it is made of reddish black stone, popularly known in Bengali as ‘Kashtipathar’. This temple is one of the 51 holiest ‘Shaktipeeths’ (Shrine of the goddess of power) in India as per Hindu mythology. The temple was constructed in 1501 A.D. by the then Maharaja Dhanya Manikya.

Devoted and Blessed. One of the Shaktipeeth of 51 Shaktipeethas. This Temple serves as a business place for many. However, maintaining cleanliness should be top priority. Authority is not taking this into account. This place should be preserved very important for Hindus. I urge authority to renovate this place. 🙏🙏🙏

I had visited this place a quite few times till now and lost the count. But this time I would like to share the experience about today's visit. We were three people i.e. Me, Cousin and my Aunt to visit this time. We travelled through train from Agartala to Udaipur which was really comfortable. As earlier visits were taken by car and there were times when one faced with car sickness. This time it was different and it happened for good. The surrounding of the temple isn't like before anymore as the whole place is under remodeling and there is a lot of construction going on and in addition to that, due to rain the roads were filled with mud. So we had to walk carefully while afraid of sliping off. The part of paying respect to the divine goddess was normal like always though it give a feeling of peace in our mind. After that we took the stairs and go to the pond to see the fishes in there. Later on, we eat puchkas and bought a few items from the stalls. But before ending our trip here, we also visited a sweet shop which was nearby the temple and eat Paratha with booter daal along with a cup of tea. Overall, my experience was fantastic and even the bad weather or roads didn't able to lessen the fun I had there today.

Tripura Sundari Temple is a Hindu temple of the Goddess Tripura Sundari, better known locally as Devi Tripureshwari. The temple is situated in the ancient city of Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, Tripura and can be reached by train and road from Agartala. It is believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country and witnesses the highest number of visitors for a temple in North-East India, after Kamakhya Temple in Assam. The state of Tripura is named after this temple. Popularly known as Matabari, the shrine is set upon a small hillock that resembles the hump of a tortoise (Kurma). This shape called Kurmapṛṣṭhākṛti is considered the holiest possible site for a Shakti temple, hence also bestowing the name of Kurma Pīṭha.The Goddess is served by traditional Brahmin priests. The temple is considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas; legend says that the little finger of the left leg of Sati fell here. Here, Shakti is worshipped as Tripurasundarī and the accompanying Bhairava is Tripuresh. The main shrine, a cubical edifice with a three-tier roof with a finial, erected by Maharaja of Tripura Dhanya Manikya in 1501 AD, is constructed in the Bengali Ek-ratna style. There are two similar but different sized black stone idols of the Goddess in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The larger and more prominent idol of 5 feet height is of Goddess Tripura Sundari and the smaller one, adorably called Chhoto-Ma (literally, Little Mother), is 2 feet tall and is an idol of Goddess Chandi. The smaller idol was said to have been carried by the kings of Tripura to the battlefield as well as to hunting expeditions. Every year on the occasion of Diwali, a famous Mela takes place near the temple which is visited by more than 0.2 million pilgrims

Medium size temple. Lots of religious people practicing their faith. Goats are being sacrificed. The usual stuff. The পেঁড়া that's available in outside shops, used for prasad, is freaking delicious. It's a must try.

TRIPURA SUNDARI TEMPLE A famous old temple for the Hindu devotees. As per the Hindu mythology, a finger of goddess Sati fell at this place and hence, the temple has been constructed here to worship the goddess. If you are coming here for offering Puja, you can bring sweets and fruits from your own place, or there is an option to get them from the counters just outside the Mandir. In normal days the queue isn't very long, should take you not more than 1.5hrs on average. If you are about to make some offerings like gold or clothes, etc make sure you get a coupon from the counters inside the temple. Bali / Offerings is still made here. Cleanliness rating would be 3/5 The place is mostly noisy.

It is tha place among 51 shakti prarthana of devi sati/ durga. This is temple of TripuraSundari, as name suggest goddess with beauty at age 16. Also called as Shodashi. Its Sabha Mandap and widening work of construction is going on. Also ritual of sacrifices is still going on baby goats are sacrificed those who got Prachiti of devi TripuraSundari. Pakka Pedha is the prasad offered to devi also offers Lotus flower. Temple is surrounded by small lake mostly people offers biscuits to fish & tortoise. To come to this place mostly I used to prefer rickshaw which is in their local language called reserved for traveling. He takes 1100 Rs. From NIT Agartala. For less expensive journey prefer to go by step by step. First come to modern stand look for bus for Udaipur if it's not available go up to Khayerpur by rickshaw and leave rickshaw their he will take 20 or 30 Rs. Then take Magic or Chhota Hatti passenger vehicle for udaipur. From Udaipur take rickshaw to Matabari Temple Matabari is same name of Tripura Sundari.
