Ocean Banquet Hall represents a quintessentially chinese restaurant -- another stalwart of Batu Pahat. Specialty here is the pork "kou rou" and buns, which is probably the best in town. Comparatively to another establishment like Sea View Restaurant, Ocean's dish brings on a fuller flavouring, embodied a stronger aroma of garlic, and more tender, juicier meat slices. Other dishes we ordered include streamed fish, nestum buttet fried prawns, clay pot veg, and tofu with meat. All of good standards with the fried prawns being a stand out. Good comments aside, I found the dish portions to be a little meagre and one felt like we needed a "little more" to be fully satisfied. Not a big complaint -- and perhaps that is meant to be, to keep you coming back for more! The restaurant venue is purposely designed for special occasions in terms of its open plan layout and a large centre stage. Ambience is one of festivity and grandeur. Overall, the dining experience made our party of discerning eaters heartily contented. Highly recommended.

26 Nov 2023. We came to this restaurant but in a different place. Food quality still maintain. We ordered a sweet sour fish, a soup, rojak chicken, veggie and egg. The following review posted 6 years ago. The young waiters are very helpful and friendly. We did not make a reservation for our dinner but these young men setup one extra table for us to dine in. Very polite service team.
