I was so excited to get a reservation at this restaurant during my time in Beaune. The man who runs this restaurant was very lovely and pleased I wanted to practice my French. I ordered the set menu and never in my life have I been brought to tears at the deliciousness of the tarte l’epoisse. Perfect food, perfect service. 10/10 would recommend.

From the online booking to the end of the evening, everything went smoothly. Perfect host, knowledgeable about his food and wines! Took the time to chat while handling the bar and the kitchen alone. Hats off! Nice and quaint settings. In the plates, simple but tasty! You get to choose between two menus (you can't go wrong!), a great selection of bio/natural wines. Definitely worth a visit! Don't forget to book! A delicacy highlight in Beaune!

Nice and cozy place to eat in Beaune. You have just the owner serving and cooking. The food is quite good, specially the Époisses tart that’s out of this world. The wine list is the only thing that needs more work.

What a wonderful meal. The tarte a l'epoisses Berthault was a mind blowing mile high thing like a simple cheese quiche but mile high, light as air, and silky like velvet. The boef bourgogne was among the best I've had - definitely the best we had this trip. The basil cream sauce on the fish was extraordinary. The wine list is small, but superbly curated. The house cremant was superb and the rosé we ordered was among the lowest cost offerings but was memorably good. The space is a tiny gorgeous late medieval room with only 6 tables, you must plan on arriving at 19h (7 pm) or calling at 18h45 to reserve. It's well worth the effort.

Wonderful experience. Cool concept restaurant with 12 seats and 2 menus. Honestly the best dinner of the year so far. The owner is super welcoming and passionate. This was the first dinner of a new tradition. All the best!

Very warm and friendly welcome by the chef/owner, amazing food, beautiful and comfortable interior. The owner does everything by himself with such a calm and attentive manner, that you feel seen and leave the soul kitchen at the end of the dinner a bit more relaxed. All in all we had a great dinner and experience at the soul kitchen and are looking forward to coming back :)

Lovely little spot in the heart of Beaune. The owner does everything by himself and welcomes you with a warm smile. Two menus to choose from, a fixed Burgundy one and another one that changes weekly. Good wine selection too. Definitely excellent value for money!

It’s Soul Good!! Very amazed by Matthieu the chef and owner of the place who single handedly runs the whole restaurant with much poise and efficiency and joy! You could sense his passion and care for attention to detail. Very course is well explained and Chef was patient to explain the ingredients he used for the dishes. There are only 2 menus - fixed menu and a weekly menu that changes once a week. Hubby and I took one each and it was a good choice. The wine selection by Chef was a Pinot Noir that paired well with the menu. Starter was a cheese tart so fluffy it almost flew away 😂 you could smell the cheese from the kitchen as Chef was preparing it. The soba salad was refreshing and light and the ingredients used was delightful. Everything was soul good. Highly recommended to revisit if you have time. Make booking Bec Chef operates alone. Restaurant takes in about 12 each night. Exclusive yet affordable. Must try!!

I waited all morning to go to lunch here and walked in at noon! I had no idea it was a one man show! The chef is the owner and everything else! He really blew me away with his passion, kindness, yet humble spirit. I don’t speak French, but he spoke enough English to explain what the menu options were in English. I love that he has a different menu option every week! And was the food good!?!? It was amazing. I loved every course, and the flavors were so perfect! I enjoyed my time very much at Soul Kitchen. I’ll be back every week until I leave beaune to try the weekly changing menu!
