I got the vegan meal with cornbread and salad. Chose the Tofu curry, rice with gravy, and collard greens. The collard greens were too salty and the tofu curry had little flavor. So together they balanced each other out. The rice and gravy were okay. My friend enjoyed his vegetable plate. He got the sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, and collard greens, with salad. I don't eat processed sugar, so I like that the cornbread was not sweet. It tasted healthy. It was more crumbly than cake-like, and that didn't bother me. Nice that it was vegan, without egg or dairy! Slim pickings for anything to drink. We opted for water which was delicious spring water, served with a smile! Whenever we go to the West End Performing Arts Center near here (which houses the Essential Theatre Play Festival) we always like to eat at Soul Vegetarian. The menu items are different everyday. And the offerings and layout are very different from Soul Vegetarian 2, found in the Poncey-Highland area. Check them out, too!

There were three entrees today. Some type meatless barbecue, lasagna, and quiche. The sides were collard greens, macaroni and cheese, candy yams, brown rice and gravy. I was told by the guy that fixed my plates that I could get an entree and two sides and it came with a side salad and bread, cornbread if I want it. So I ordered three plates. One with the meatless barbecue, brown rice and gravy and candy yams. The other with lasagna, macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The last one with just quiche, as it was an entree by itself. The total came to $32.09. I gave her a $50 bill but she had trouble giving me $18 back in change. So I opted to use a credit card instead. I asked her how much the drink was behind her and she told me $5.65 with tax included. So I asked her to add that to the bill and she told me it was $41 and something. Which I had to question because $32.09 + $5.65 equals to $37.74. But when she rung it up, it came up as $41 and some odd cents. Which, of course, I had to question, because I wanted to know where the extra $3 came from. And since someone in line had to ask me if I had enough money, oh, I went on ahead and told her "you know what, I'll go ahead and pay the $41. I was going to give her at least a $5 tip anyway. So now she can just take it out of that.Then I noticed, that I only got one salad with my meals instead of two.

Great vegetarian soul food! The collard greens are so tastey and the potatoes have a unique flavor! Everything is vegetarian which is amazing and the service here is fantastic. The people who work here are so lovely and eager to help. The prices are also reasonable and ordering is quick and easy. The atmosphere is very nice and good for families or groups

Soul Vegetarian is my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world. Hands down I would eat here everyday if it were possible. Whenever I am close enough this is by far my first choice over every other place to eat in Atlanta! They never disappoint. Everything is always fresh, hot, and delicious! Even if you're not Vegan or Vegetarian you would enjoy something from the menu.

Hands down this is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in ATL! Everything here is delish! I had the Lasagna which was so full of flavor and the texture was on point as well. The collard greens was flavorful without the pork fat/bacon/ham. It was simply delicious and nutritious. The Mac & Cheese was one of the best vegan ones I've had in a while. It was rich and creamy without the dairy of a regular Mac & cheese. The texture was so smooth when it hit your mouth. Mmmm... still thinking about it! The split pea soup and corn bread was also amazing! They also have freshly made drinks as well. I had the ginger juice which was fyah! I highly recommend this place of you're looking for some good ole soul food for vegetarians!

I went to soul vegetarian #1 after hearing about the menu being revamped and it was the BEST vegan soul food I have ever had. They said that they have a new menu and they are under new management. The celebrity vegan chef @DaVeganGuru revamped the menu and he was actually there today. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The customer service is amazing. The staff is very friendly with positive vibes! 3 employees greeted me with smiling faces when I walked in. Great community atmosphere. Also the servings are huge so I got 2 meals out of my meal. Perfectly seasoned Vegan BBQ chicken, Mac and cheese, greens, cornbread...THE BEST! I have to say that the Mac and cheese taste even better than the original IMO. I recommend this place.

Food is decent and portions are hearty but the service leaves something to be desired. They don't seem happy to be there nor do they seem happy to have you there. I've been about 3-4 times and all the times the service was lukewarm at best. It's set up to be cafeteria service style for takeout orders so they literally just have to scoop the food into your container and check you out. It should only take 5 minutes. But every time I've gone, it takes 20+ minutes even with one or two people in line. On one occasion, the lady behind the food counter was cleaning some spoons or something for about 10 minutes with her back turned without ever acknowledging that there were people waiting in line. A young man came from the back, didn't acknowledge customers, spoke to the lady and went right on back. I finally said something and when the lady was good and ready, she turned around to help us like we were bothering her. Another time I went, I asked the young lady if I could see what all they were serving so I could choose. The young lady opened the lid on the first pan, didn't say what it was until I asked her. Then I had ask her to open each subsequent lid each time and had to ask her what it was each time. It was like pulling teeth. I gave it a few chances thinking it was a one time thing but it's definitely just the energy there. I don't want to spend money where I feel like a bother, just not my jam. If the service was better, I'd probably go back more frequently but not worth it.

Delicious food, served quickly and hot in takeout servers. My roasted tofu with BBQ sauce and collard greens were outstanding. Yams were sweet and tender. Stopped here on long car trip (found out about restaurant on the internet) and will stop here again, if I get a chance. Personable, helpful staff, too. This restaurant could convince many a meat-lover that plant-based food is the way to go.

Soul Vegetarian 🌱 is a nice and friendly place to eat! It lives up to its name for having soul 🔥🔥. The food is very nice and nothing is over seasoned/not season at all. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese greens and whatever entre dish they have for the day. I also am a big fan weekend breakfast 🥞. This place really likes up to the hype! I got the kale bone, collards, Mac & cheese, cornbread, & tropical drink. The kale bone a flavor/ texture that remind me of stuffing mixed with soy with gravy of top. Not bad at all but I’m not a stuffing kind of person so I wouldn’t get it again. The collards was your typical collards & I did enjoy that. The Mac & cheese was the BEST vegan Mac & cheese I have ever tasted & I have tried a few. The cornbread was dry. I took one bite & trashed it. The tropical drink have hibiscus in it & it’s delicious. The customer service is welcoming & friendly. The place does have a slight Odor like it’s a older building.

Mac and cheese were just noodles and mush, the collards clearly were straight from the can to the pan with no seasoning whatsoever I wasted $13 I threw the plate away as soon as I got home. I probably should of gave it to one of the homeless men on the corner but they probably wouldn’t even eat it that mess

I loved Soul Vegetarian in all the states that they are located...Especially here in Atlanta. The food is delicious and the customer service is great too. They make you feel like family and I taste the soul every time I eat there. My kids love the cornbread and tofu dishes. Sunday Brunch's Pancakes and Tofu scramble every time for them. The Juice Bar Is off The Chain Also!

I am a loyal customer since the late 80s. Started in Chicago Tonight i ordered my normal veggie plate. Greens too salty Mac and cheese did not have the same appearance i am accustomed to. Yams just ok. No cornbread. it appears there was some type of issue with the corn bread on the hot bar. Listen i realize SV#1 is going through a new change but the quality of food should not be compromised. I was highly disappointed. Not to mention we pay dearly for GOOD food. Please SV#1 make it right

The food was good. I enjoyed the chickpeas and black-eyed peas with rice, mac n cheeze, and cornbread. Service was good. This Soul Vegetarian is very different from #2. It is basically like cafeteria/buffet-style, but served over the counter, almost like a deli. The choices are limited, but this set-up makes for faster service, which is the only advantage this location has over #2. As I said, the food was good, but we were disappointed that there wasn't a choice of kale bone or country baked steak or any of those items as you would be able to order from Soul Vegetarian #2. Also, the salad was cold, which is unlike what we had at #2. The restaurant was very hot. I saw fans, but felt no air conditioner at all. Overall, this might have worked out better if I had called ahead and knew what to expect.

I tried very hard to patronize black businesses in Atlanta. However, they just don't get it. Like many this place is never open on time, or never open. What's really going on at this place?

Only two main course to chose from, customer service is very poor and rude. Just because you're in a urban neighborhood doesn't mean you over price your own people's. Please don't get the ginger juice unless you ready to chock yourself. Never again keep the food and your unprofessional employees.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I use to support this business frequently!!! Some of the employees know me by name and face became of how frequent I used to eat here. Their Uber eats tend to have frequent mistakes. They messed up my order and then tried to put the blame on me by saying they don’t normally handle orders over the phone. But I called to reiterate my order to make sure that they wouldn’t mess it up like the times previously. Then they still forgot a portion of my order that I paid Uber eats for and the manager told me that either I just get my refund or wait until the restaurant closes and he’ll try to deliver it. Who wants to wait until the restaurant closes to have your order completed? I asked that since they messed up I can place another order and they can compensate the delivery fee to finish my original order and they declined. In order to make an Uber eats purchase you have to call the restaurant because the app doesn’t provide you with the daily entree because they change it daily. So I called them recently to make a new order after all of that and a woman answered the phone and hung up when she recognized who it was because of her being the culprit of making the mistake on my previous orders. I even heard her tell an employee that the phone is going to continue to ring and do not answer. I’m an African American and I like to support black owned businesses but this is not the one to do so. They have lost a loyal customer in me.

I had such a tasty meal, like nothing I had before. Can’t recommend this place enough. Service is great, they make a real effort to share with you the origin of ingredients and recipes. Can’t wait to go back!

A real nice place. Limited menu, but in someway that's beneficial. I got the classic burger, which I upgraded to the lunch meal deal, which is a real bargain. Fries are your standard American salty fries- tasty. I wasn't expecting the burger to be so big, and I ended up cutting it in half to be able to eat it. The burger sauce kinda drowns out the taste of the patty, but the patty was still quite nice. The vegan brioche bun was nice too. Overall, really enjoyed this meal, just wish there wasn't so much sauce in the burger

I really like this place. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. I like the simple layout of the place which felt chilled and laid back, a feeling I also get when I visit a Honest Burger restaurant. The menu is varied featuring a range of vegan meals including burgers, salads, macaroni cheese, nuggets and range of side dishes. I had the Kentucky Bites, which is a take on spicy chicken nuggets, which came with a barbecue sauce that tasted incredible. I also the sweet potato wedges that were nice and a strawberry milkshake which is one of the best I have ever tasted. The food is really good if a bit pricey but at the same time portions were really generous. I couldn't finish the food I ordered. So I am a bit conflicted when deciding if it is good value for money It is by far the best purely vegan burger restaurant I have been to. I will definitely be going back again to try out one of the burgers and the Mac and Cheese.

I stumbled upon this place by accident but I'm glad I did! My partner and I are slowly transitioning to vegan and these burgers were so damn delicious! I ordered the buffalo "chicken" burger with sweet potato fries, and my partner got the classic black bean burger with regular fries. If I was local to London I would eat here often! I highly recommend eating here, vegan or not. The "chicken" burger will blow you away and has an amazing texture!

So yummy. I had the buffalo vurger, the texture was so chicken-y I was scared for a second. Portions are filling too, but still a tiny bit too expensive when you consider that chips are not included. I would at least like to see a little discount when you combine chips with a burger, like a meal-deal.

Yummy but I took away half a star because it was really expensive for one burger and another half because the restaurant design wasn't intuitive enough for me to immediately spot the bin so I ended up handing my tray to the confused girls at the counter and only managing to see it ten seconds after. For breakfast...I can say that the biscuits are very VERY well made, as well as the sausages and everything else. Overall its actually a really decent place. Especially on Sunday breakfast. To be honest they shouldn’t even serve dinner or lunch anymore since no 2 exists. They should just serve breakfast or brunch only and make it niche (make sure to include the biscuits in the menu!) Also, if this location would only offer more pancake types like cinnamon swirl or blueberry something, and cook grittier grits and expand on its breakfast meat options it would really be a main choice of breakfast or brunch if they decide to go that route I recommend. It’s a good place on the other days too. But tbh it only stands out on breakfast. To many vegan spots already offer lunch and mac and cheese plates but not to many offer decent breakfast or can go the distance with a good brunch menu.

So glad I had an opportunity to not only patronize this historical landmark but I also had an opportunity to work here and I could see 1st hand that the food the customer service the atmosphere is by far the best. Every single thing you get here is not vegetarian but vegan. The main protein is KALBONE. I know this because I made it from scratch daily for them. Hey, so it was vegetarian restaurant we were going to get food to go, but they were closing soon, so we looked at their menu and took a few photos of their food. My wife stayed in the car, not the best neighborhood, from the appearance only, but didn’t want to take chances. We ended up going across the street to another place to see if they had more food on their menu or not, by the time I went back they had closed. But they only had slim pickings and they were not doing anything fresh as they were closing soon. I believe their portions were small; as they were sectioned/cut in small portions. They also had a desert bakery next door and it was also vegan, we wanted food first… It looked really delicious!!!

We were first time patrons and will not be our last visit. We had 2 dinner plates with a mixture of sides. I’ve never tried collard greens that I liked, but loved theirs. The business name is fitting, this food was beneficial for the soul and the flesh and bones. Thank you for the nutrition.

My first time ordering from there yesterday and I did not like any of my food. The “ribs” tasted nasty, Mac n cheese looked old and tasted nasty as well and the collard greens looked old also and need more flavor.

Did not enjoy at all. The two main dishes they had looked like they had been sitting there for days so we decided to at least try the sides, that wasn’t the best decision. The macaroni and cheese had a burned taste, was dry and really bad flavor, the yams didn’t taste fresh so this place would be a no for return.

The BBQ Kale Bone was delicious. First time having something like this. The food will give you the "I-tis" so beware.

I really do like this restaurant & appreciate it being here. The Mac & Cheese has grown on me even though it's Soy based. One time they had BarBQ Vegan Steak & mashed potatoes but they do tend to switch it up the entrees everyday. I do like the all Raw Vegan bar of mushrooms & salads. I felt very full & good from all of the food.

My first time visiting Soul Vegetarian Restaurant was an AWESOME experience! The food and customer service was exceptional! Love it!

Great food! Don't let the area for you. I ended up driving past this place twice before I found it but I'm really glad I did! The veggie pot pie with gravy was delicious. The rice was very good as well and the yams were sweet and soft. The portion sizes I felt were very fair as I was not able able to finish it all in one sitting. The only complaint was the city bread, was a bit dry and not sweet enough for my taste. But i did like how it was way too break apart and very crumbly . Worth your time to stop by and give this place a try!

It was a gr8 place to eat, I don't know how someone with them great skill don't cook for our presidents

I must say I wasn't impressed when I first walked in and the menu was limited however I did get a veggie plate. The mac and cheese is swanging. Everything else was delicious. Needed more seasoning and wasn't very hot. Price was high but it was good.

Came here for dinner during our honeymoon and man what an experience! We originally booked a normal reservation but once we arrived we were convinced to do the full tasting menu and we were not disappointed. Not only was the food amazing, presentation beautiful, etc but it was informative and a truly immersive experience starting on the rooftop for a couple dishes and then moving down to our table in the main dining room. It was beautiful, service was lovely and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a high end experience!

Dinner was an orchestrated experience without being pretentious or stuffy. From the garden tour where many of the ingredients come from, to the knowledgeable wait staff, to the little meet and greet with other guests for a drink, down to artistically put together dishes - Urko is a well thought out idea executed perfectly. The flavors at locally inspired with a twist and the dishes were delicious. Perhaps the only two things that (on the night) didn't quite work for me was the lamb which was a little overdone; and the drink pairings - while the drinks were really interesting they did not already quite pair with the meal. That said, overall this was one of my favorite meal experiences this year.

Since I arrived in Ecuador 6 months ago I have was looking forward to try Urko. This last Friday I had the opportunity to finally try their degustation menu and I regret I haven't done this before: it was an amazing journey through Ecuadorian cuisine. The restaurant is not only a beautiful place with a beautiful architecture, but a tribute to Ecuador cultural roots. The degustation menu is indeed pricy, but it worths: through more than a dozen plates you fly as a condor high in the Andes, passing through the amazon florest and diving in the waters of thr coast enjoying all exquisite flavors of ecuadorian cuisine. They change the menu every 3 months based on the seasons of harvest in the country. I am looking fowmrward to try all of them. In the current menu, the stars for me were the Seco de Llama, a typical juicy and well seasoned plate of Ecuadorian cuisine that was presented in its best form and the vegatarian carpaccio. Staff is also very friendly and provide you with an overview of the context and story behind each plate of the menu. My only negative comment is that some dishes are so good that you wish you coukd eat a little bit more. Urko is one of the places one must visit while in Quito!

Impeccable is the only place one can begin. The knowledgeable super friendly and professional staff took us on a culinary adventure I won’t soon forget. Each course and food item was curated to be an unexpected feast for all the senses. I have a big sense of food adventure but I was skeptical about garlic in my chocolate dessert. But it was a perfect balanced unexpected pleasure. If you visit Quito or the Galapagos don’t miss this gem!

The best meal we had in Ecuador! URKO has a very interesting concept: offering a tasting menu with options ranging from the 3 main regions of the country. I’m sure everyone will be pleased by the variety of ingredients that this menu offers: from seafood from the Coast region to awesome vegetables from the Amazonia. Honestly, I was so excited to come and try this place as I’ve heard really great things. When I arrived, around 5:20 pm, I ordered a simple smoothie bowl to go, with almond butter on top. I noticed the lady at the register was being very short and had an attitude with me for seemingly no reason. I sat there and waited until 6:05 to receive my smoothie bowl, after asking a few times where it was because I have never heard of a smoothie bowl taking 40 minuets to make. My receipt paper said the order was placed at 5:23 and when I had mentioned this to the cashier, she gave me even more attitude saying that I didn’t wait 40 minuets, that the order was placed at 5:45, and that the cooks were already cleaned up and that it was their first time ever having to put things back to make my order. She made it seem like it was a huge burden and was trying to manipulate the time of order to justify her attitude. I have never, in all my years of going to smoothie places, having worked many myself, ever heard of the kitchen closing up before 5:45. Also, after receiving my smoothie bowl. It was sloppy and they didn’t give me the almond butter I requested on top. I’m not sure what I did to to deserve this. For a place being called “ Raw Love,” It sure didnt feel like it. I have honestly never received such bad service in my entire life and wish I could say I want to come back to this place. I would recommend getting a new cashier. Convenient west side location; this restaurant was a great option for my vegetarian appetite. I was greeted with a warm welcome upon entry which is always a nice touch (especially for an ATLien. The hot buffet style options were behind a glass & served by kitchen staff. I chose greens, yams and mac-n-cheese. This vegetarian dinner included a small garden salad that was paired with a delicious dressing. Everything was superb! Very filling but bit in a heavy senae. I saved my 2 soft baked cookies for the day after and they were on point as well. I'll be back next time I'm in the A for sure. My only complaint is the restroom could have used some attention.

I'm walking down the hall and I end up at the restrooms and a religious hall. Very disappointed. I shouldn't have to go into a barbershop and ask where the restaurant is. Poor signage. Please do better.

My spouse and I were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast before driving back to Florida. We stopped in for Sunday Brunch, and this place absolutely hit the spot. Everything was so flavorful; wonderful variety and excellent value. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Can't wait to come back!

This food is divine. Third time in two weeks and I Love It! Mac and cheese and greens are a must have along with the fresh fruit punch. I am filled. 22 years and it gets better.

While on vacation in Atlanta,, I decided to check out this spot. The food is delicious and you can feel the positive vibration as soon as you step foot inside!! I got the BBQ kabelone, greens, yams, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. I recommend this establishment to everyone!

Best vegan mac and cheese I've had, and I've tried a few! The barbecue tofu was also excellent as were the other sides. A bit pricey, but you certainly get incredibly tasty food and I was happy to support a vegan business. Only downside was the styrofoam plates, but I know it saves on dishwashing costs.

Been going to this place for years and years and it is one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to. And by far, the best vegan soul food in America. Their Mac and cheese slaps and so do their greens. They use a brine in them that is just so delicious. The location is sort of hard to get parking, but honestly who cares because the food is so good.

Looks are definitely deceiving. They don’t believe in seasoning here. Everything was barely seasoned, tasteless and bland. I wouldn’t return if it were free. Vegan food doesn’t mean cook it without flavor. This would be perfect if it were located in a hospital. 🙄 They’d hate it, too

Awesome atmosphere! Everyone is so nice and welcoming, down to giving the little kids a sample of Mac and cheese while you order. It’s very homey and the food is amazing! The yams and Mac and cheese are the bomb.

This place is known for their famous mac and cheese. Their mac and cheese is amazing. I also like their salad with the special dressing they use. They also have kalebone and lasagna that tastes really good. This is likely the spot you're looking for if you want VEGAN soul food

I ordered BBQ Kalebone, Mac N Cheese, and Greens. I've had soulful vegan food but this wasn't the best. The flavor and taste weren't the best. Great menu but I recommend adjusting the flavor or adding more care to recipes.

Grew up eating Soul Vegetarian. From Chicago to Atlanta and Israel. This food taste like no body give a damn anymore. Last time eating here. I always try one more time but this is truly it. $45 bucks later and it’s all in the trash.

Amazing food and people. Great options and all good for your temple. Would recommend to anyone vegetarian or not. The mac and cheese is great and the sweet potatoes too. Really cant go wrong here.

I called one of the two locations in atlanta as I was visiting for a work trip and no one answered after I ordered online. The restaurant decided to cancel my order because they were out of the plate that I ordered and wanted to deliver me the cornbread only. I called and called and no one answered. I had to dispute through doordash and let them k ow to cancel the entire order because I wasn’t about to pay for only cornbread to be delivered The second location finally answered but seemed too busy to answer any of my questions but despite my better judgment, I ordered a second time online for the second location. I noticed they decided to change my cookie selection without asking just like the first location who didn’t give me an opportunity to change my order so I called and told them I didn’t want what they decided to give me. She said well that’s the only cookie we have (oatmeal) and I said I have an oatmeal allergy she said well we can give you a refund I said please do. I received my order and the smell we horrible. Everything was terrible in taste including the cornbread and I am not sure how a place like this screw up cornbread. I was very disappointed and I never received my refund for the cookie. The plate went in the trash full and this has never happened to me. Usually I would be able to eat something but I was unable to eat anything nothing was edible. I’m hoping this was just a one off. I wouldn’t go back at this point tho.

whomever cooked the lasagna on Thursday 12/21/2023 It was soooo delicious. I mean I’m just trying to figure out what kinda day the cooked had. It was perfectly seasoned just so good. I knew something was up when I walked in and felt this warm vibe, it was a wonderful flow. The amazing lady at the register was so gentle, warm and refreshing. Thanks so much I had an amazing experience.. I was really having a not so good day and to end it with amazing food and warm energy really made my night! To the cook I hope you get everything you desire in life. The food was just too good. Much success to the business in 2024! Much success to the amazing lady running the register.. ❤️
