The process is as any other car rental company, the difference: They charge you what they advertised (no hidden insurance cost, or taxes) I want to point that the car I rented got an dash light on during my trip, I let them know and they swapped the car without further questions, I can't blame them for the mechanical failure (that's on the manufacturer) I must emphasise the fact that Mario personally called me to apologize for the inconvenience and assure me that I have nothing to worry about "you are on vacation, you are not here to solve problems, that's my job" he said. Everybody is friendly in Cancun (except taxi drivers) but Mario and his crew stand over with their customer satisfaction real attitude. when I'm back in the area I will rent with Mario, not even compare cost with competitors.

I have always done business with Hertz when i travel to Mexico, but over in Cancun it was a bit more. When I saw this company in social media, I was impressed with the price. It was a great deal, they are responsive and their people are very friendly. There was a little miss understanding at the beginning, I told them I needed an automatic car and they gave me the “standard” option which was the cheapest, and I picked that one, but in Mexico “standard” means manual. They were able to accommodate me with an automatic car at the end, so no issues at all. The car wasn’t too new, but it was what we needed to go around Quintana Roo. If I ever go back to Cancun, I’m definitely doing business with them again. I appreciate all their help.

I needed a rental last minute and they saved me!!! Amazing car rental. I just recommend recording and taking pictures of the car for any damages before they give you the keys. Gave me back my deposit once we gave in the keys, 100% recommend. No hidden fees, they will tell you the price upfront! And the deposit was the lowest I was able to find! A staff member picked me up from the airport at the time of arrival . My flight was delayed so I arrived next day. No problem . They were able to hold my rental. Communication was excellent. We rented Chevrolet Aveo for 3 weeks and made almost 2000 km around Yucatan. No problems with the car. Picking up and returning was easy. We do not speak Spanish and none from the office spoke English, but we could communicate using google translator. No problem. I recommend.

We rented a car for a week and the pick up at the airport was really smooth once you find pick up point. The driver take you from the airport to the Mario offices near the airport to pick up the car, the car is inspected and keys are handover. Car was in good condition except the wheel covers which were secured with cable ties and the horn which they knew didn't work but didn't let us know before hand, we find out when need it to use in the road. Unfortunately Cancun is really weather dependent and things can change - due to weather conditions our visit had to be shortened and most of water activities also stopped (catamaran, snorkel, etc). We reached out to discuss the arrangement to return the car early and the owner refused to discuss over the phone but asked us to come to the airport office to discuss. Once in their offices in the airport they took away the keys with the excuse to park the car. Once we communicated our intent the owner decided to suddenly and aggressively suspend our service and remove all our belongings. We were OK to pay a cancellation fee for remaining days. We felt mistreated and it was a stressful situation being left in a foreign country with no car and having to find a taxi or public transport. I would like to mention that all the employees were very nice to us and help guide us once this happened and from the start - we found mexican people are warm and lovely and great at service. However it was sad that they also communicated to us they have been also mistreated at Mario's so this is a business I will not support ever again.

I had a great experience from booking to returning the car. All the staff was very courteous, punctual and efficient. I was a bit skeptical about booking vía WhatsApp since this is the only method of communication. I traveled with my family of 4, at the time of booking the only option was a small 4 door car and upon pick up we were surprised with a small SUV making my rental experience even better! There are no hidden fees, the price they give you is the price you will pay. I will continue to use them in the future and recommend them as their fees are very reasonable.

We rented from Mario for our vacation with our family of 5. It was great. They picked us up at airport and did the paperwork quickly (they are located close to airport, but not there). We had zero problems and return was easy. We even had a lot of sand (and thought we may get an extra charge for dirty, but no!). My wife speaks Spanish, but my family does not. It probably would be a tad challenging if no Spanish, but so much better of an experience than what I have heard about the other big company car rental places in Cancun. I 100% recommend this company and had a very positive and easy experience. WhatsApp is how they communicate to you to set up contract and how to pick you up.

Expect ~10% more than they tell you at the airport. Also, don't expect a good car. When Hertz gave away our car because we were more than 1 hour late, some guy outside of Hertz offered us a car for like $400 for the week. Once they drove us to the site off airport and had us as a captive audience, they started adding fees. They quoted me in USD and then charged in pesos at a terrible conversion rate and an additional 5% credit card fee.

Terrible transaction fees they add on when paying with credit card. Added up to about 10%. Car had a front fender that wasn't fully attached...it could easily have been torn off by the wind if you drive to fast.

I like doing business with this guys, they offer better deals and they treat me with respect, I booked with them two times already , they come and pick you up from the airport and they will take you back when the car is returned , cars are are well maintained and clean no complaints about that, I would recommend this place to everyone you will save money, Me and my wife like them, they don't have no hidden cost or anything that will surprise you , you will pay exactly what they say you will pay.

Excellent service. At first we were a bit nervous and very cautious from all the horrible rental car stories we’ve heard. However, this company is very honest and everyone is so nice. They picked us from the airport on time and even gave us some suggestions of places to visit. Just make sure you’re in constant communication with them. I will for sure do future rentals with them. Make sure you take video or pictures of any car damages when they give you the car. We did so… and we didn’t have any problems getting our full deposit back. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

Definitely recommended! No small letters. You pay only what you are quoted. Quotes via Whatsapp so a little bit inconvenient but main thing is that the price stays as quoted. Older and used cars, but worked well for us. They pick you up and take you back to the airport, all smooth. Better English would help especially when explaining the contract, but again as no hidden fees are included I was fine with it. Definitely recommended for foreign visitors.

I have searched on different main stream brands all i got many bad reviews. After all research i have found mario friend which was a much more cheaper and better service i got from them. Everything was smooth from the beginning to took us from airport and at the end of on our travel to our return flight. You definitely trust this company. Everything was easy. Rented a car for two weeks from Mario Friend and they were great. Easy to deal with and contact , the key staff spoke some English , the financial transaction was handled clearly and they made the price very clear before we arrived. Their offices are fairly close to the airport (a few mins drive). I think the only thing they are missing is a website, I think it helps for the first initial contact and it makes people feel more confident in what they are booking. Anyway , I Would recommend Mario Friend. !!

They have excellent customer service. The check in and check out went smoothly. I would highly recommend.

We rent chevrolet cavalier for 13 days and it cost us around 9500 MXN$, deposit was 3000MXN$. Car was in good condition, but not perfect. Papers were sign fast and with no complication. We returned the car without a problem it was done in 15 min. Only two problems we got with firm was that one of a stuff said we returned it with 100km of range less then we got it, that was not the case. Other problem was that shuttle back to airport left us at wrong terminal.

We had a pleasant experience compared to other rental companies. No added costs. What they explained was the final cost. Also, the check in and out process was fast. Lastly, vehicle had no mechanical issues and tires were good.

An overall great experience with Mario Friend. Their communication is timely which helps to ease some of the stress if you’re a first-timer. Upon landing, you simply message them with the number they provide you and within 5 minutes, they are there to pick you up! I had a Nissan Versa which was clean and had cold A/C. Paperwork is fast (about 5 minutes) and the return process is just as easy. I will definitely rent from Mario again. Shout out to Richie Friend as well! He was the guy who picked us from the airport - funny and helpful!
