The yoga classes are okay overall, but there are a lot of things that I don't like. I was probably at YOTM 20 times. The studio is very Instagrammable. The audience is very middle class and young and the teachers are almost all young, thin and of normal beauty. The studio is often crowded with up to 40 people from USC, which is not good for teachers because USC pays poorly. It would be good for the leaders to offer fewer places through USC so as not to sell their teachers short. Some classes still don't start on time because people are waiting for people who arrive late. I find that disrespectful to everyone else's time, we also have appointments. There is little discussion of the origins of yoga, it is a very white studio. Yoga is taught here as an asana practice. There is music playing in almost every class, but it doesn't always make sense. There are a few male teachers there, some of whom are pretty self-promoters, and one of them has even made an unpleasant comment to a friend. There are hardly any options available for people who are not so fit. You don't see old people in the studio at all, PoC hardly at all. The studio embodies everything that's wrong with the capitalization of yoga; there are smaller, nicer, more unpretentious places to practice.

It was much nicer in the park e.g. in the Hasenheide. The rooftop isn't that nice, the ground is very hard and the environment is unpleasant. Not to mention that me and another woman were left out of the stairwell when we were looking for the toilet and almost missed class because of it! So if you do classes there, please warn people! But it's best to do it again in the park.

Beautifully bright, large and comfortably furnished studio. I was there for “Warrior Flow” on a Friday morning and I really enjoyed it, I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful and peaceful Yoga Shala. Amazing people. Favorite class: Yoga Foundations with Alex (if you are starting in yoga, this one is for you) 🧘🏽‍♀️✨.

The facilities are really beautiful, lots of great light in the space. You don't have to bring a mat, they are provided there. I took a foundations class with Alex and can highly recommend it to people begining their practice. Alex was very thoughtful and charismatic which helped to shake out the nerves of doing my first session ever. He also teaches more advanced classes, so room for everyone!

Personally I didn’t enjoy going to this studio much as: 1. It’s usually way too crowded and they don’t put a sensible limit to the maximum participants. That also leaves the impression that it’s only about making money 2. The beginning and end of the classes are annoying as people are talking and “fighting” about space for their mat - that just destroys the entire energy 3. The quality of the teachers varies a lot and don’t seem that authentic However, it’s one of the cheaper options for yoga in Berlin and also has some nice decoration, so that’s why I’d give 2 stars.

I love this place to pieces. Valery is amazing and has a wonderful way of helping me start my day and my week in the best way possible, with kindness, openness and peace in my heart. I'm going every Tuesday early morning, no matter how cold it is outside. It would be absolutely perfect to have some evening (yin) classes with her as well. I wouldn't miss any! Thank you for this wonderful place!

The YOTM studio is pretty nice and the community and the teachers (the whole YOTM team) are great. It can be a little more crowded at peak times, but that also means that the courses appeal to a lot of people. As a beginner, I feel like I'm in good hands and I actually get along well and it's fun too. I can only recommend :)

The studio is beautiful, there is a great atmosphere and the teacher is wonderful. But classes are way too crowded, this considerably reduces the quality of the practice and gives the impression the studio puts profit over everything else. Most studios put a limit of people that can register through USC. The ventilation system was quite poor and the air got very sticky. I really hope they improve this in the near future.

I am going to this studio for more than a year. I find it absolutely amazing. Today I came 1,5 minutes late to the class and the door was closed. This is the second time it happens to me the last 6 months. Consider living in a city like Berlin in the winter, when the trains are always delayed I find it not fair.

My absolute favorite yoga studio in Berlin. The entire team is super welcoming; I immediately felt comfortable there. Not only is yoga practiced here, but the philosophy is also lived (mantras are sung, input is shared, etc.). The studio is beautifully furnished and large enough to change clothes or have a cup of tea. As a beginner, I found a great way to get started there and there are courses/variants in the courses for every level.

I have been there once and would never com back again. The course was so crowded (40 people in small space) . And the teacher didn’t show any movement by himself. He just chanted slogans and I had to mimic the movement from other people around me. I didn’t know if my gesture was correct or not. This is very unfriendly to beginners.

Every class shows that the teachers are truly devoted to teach and share the power and wisdom of yoga. I am so happy that I found Yoga on the Move and have gained a deeper understanding of yoga ever since :)

The yoga classes are not bad, but not top in Berlin, there are studios with teachers that are on a new level. However I’d recommend the outdoor classes in the summer, quite good. Studio owner Marlena is quite shy, but she loves it when you tell her what to wear before class. She would pretend to resist a little but eventually would give in and come to class properly dressed. Only works if you are a cute boy. As most men in Berlin are super ugly, they most likely will get kicked in the face.

I had a very nice experience practicing yoga in the new studio. Everything was very professional, especially in context to the current covid situation. Even though I am a beginner, I felt very comfortable. Namasté 🙏

Beautiful Marlene and Leonie have created a space where everyone feels welcome and at home. Their team is full of highly qualified, experienced and kind teachers, who open up their arms for students to grow, let go and enjoy their yoga practice.

First of all, the studio is nice and the people are friendly. However, I got there 10 minutes before the start and had difficulty finding a seat. It was restless and there was a lot of talking. Finally I had my mat on the floor. However, I couldn't stretch out my arms and brushed against my neighbor with my feet while she was lying down. A mat was even laid out right next to the teacher. The class was suitable for beginners, unfortunately I didn't find any flow and the exercises were very demanding. I personally find it worrying that with so many people it is difficult to make corrections. I practice yoga regularly and this was my bad yoga experience. For everyone who books the studio online: know your way around, sometimes you don't see the teacher there, it's really frustrating without knowing the exercises It also makes me sad to know that shala received a similar criticism 5 months ago, which suggests that it is basically the way it is intended, capitalism in yoga at its finest

The Shala is a wonderful & blissful space. Not only does Yoga on the Move offer a broad range of courses in the studio but the variety and quality of the workshops & retreats they organize, amazes me! Thank you!!
