Highly highly recommend doing this bike tour when you first arrive in Berlin! We were overwhelmed with how much there is to do, but the bike tour gave us a good overview of alot of the history and culture and from there we could go back and visit more specific things we wanted. Sam was a great guide and has amazing knowledge. He even carried around chalk to draw diagrams about Berlin during and after the war, and had a folder with other pictures of Berlin to show us. The bikes are very comfortable, we didn't have sore bums at all by the end. There were no mechanical issues at all! Some of the highlights included Alexander platz, museum island, Checkpoint Charlie, the Jewish memorial, reichstag, Hitler's bunk, the wall, the Brandenburg gate etc! The price is really reasonable for what you get, I'd personally recommend the half day tour as if it alot cheaper than the full day but still goes over all the must dos in Berlin with plenty of time for questions. They offer student discounts too!

We signed up for a 3 hour tour in early May and it was great. Thor was our guide and he was fantastic. He communicated so much information- so much history, so many stories, and so much about the local culture. He had a great sense of humor, was passionate about Berlin and handled the variety of personalities, languages and biking skills with professionalism and patience. This tour was a great way to learn about the history of Berlin, and to get oriented to the many landmarks in the center of Berlin. We highly recommend this tour.

We had an incredible experience on the Fat Tire 6-hour bike tour in Berlin! The check-in was easy and efficient. Our knowledgeable and engaging guide, Ceri, safely led us through the city's vibrant streets, sharing fascinating historical insights as well as relevant and captivating stories. The iconic landmarks like Checkpoint Charlie, the Victory Column, Opera House and the Berlin Wall were truly unforgettable. The pace was comfortable, and the route allowed us to explore various sites and soak in the local culture. Our lunch at the beer garden was a nice chance to engage with our whole group. I highly recommend this tour, and guide Ceri specifically, for an enjoyable way to discover the history and beauty of Berlin!

One of the best thing I did while in Berlin was to take a day trip to Potsdam. In fact, I took a bike tour instead of a walking tour with a company called Fat Tire Tours. It was really a good decision as for one, Potsdam is huge and if I had to walk the entire city I would have died. So a bike tour means you see more things with less walking. More importantly, the tour was excellent. I had Andrew as our guide on my tour and he was really engaging and took a group of about 15 across the various parks and sights in Potsdam for the day. It's too bad I took this tour on my last day in Berlin as I was quite keen to try their other tours including a food tour in the evening. Not that the other walking tours I took was bad, they weren't. But in Berlin, I feel it's a city prime for bike tours. Cycling is common and encouraged. The distance between sites are vast. You just get to see more on a bike. I highly recommend it.

Nate was our guide for our tour. He is very knowledgeable and a great guide. He made great recommendations for lunch and also for other places to visit after the tour. The tour was wonderful and we learned all about Potsdam and the surrounding area. Definitely worth the tour. This was our second tour with FatTireBikes this week. Our first tour was the Berlin City Tour with Carlo. It was also a great tour. Carlo even had time to join the group for a beer after the tour. Definitely recommend this tour company!

We had a 3 hour bike tour with Dania who was amazing. We learnt so much about Berlin that we didn’t know before. The cycling wasn’t difficult at all and it was a great opportunity to see all of the main sights in one go. It was really fun and Dania was happy to answer any questions during and after the tour. She was also happy to give restaurant recommendations afterwards which was so helpful! Would definitely recommend!!

Absolutely wonderful day spent with Franca on our six hour tour. She wasn’t just full of knowledge but absolute passion. The tour truly was taken to a new level because Franca LOVES what she does. The small group also helped make sure we didn’t miss anything Franca shared. The six hours flew by. So glad we did this tour and so appreciative of Franca’s time!

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this bike tour. I took the 3 hour tour and we covered almost half of the sights I was planning to see during my time in Berlin. And with Franca as my guide I learned so much more than I ever would have expected. Her energy was infectious! How she does this every day is beyond me. She was so patient with everyone and she was so knowledgeable with dates and locations and events. There wasn't one question that Franca was asked that she didn't know the answer to. We even had someone take a phone call and fall behind and Franca wrangled them better than any cattle rancher could have. If i could have bought her a beer I would have (she isn't a beer drinker). Tip this woman! Whatever Franca is getting paid, it isn't enough. I can not recommend this tour more. I almost didn't take it, and I am so insanely glad that I did.

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this tour is and it’s 100% because we had Franca as our guide! She is so passionate about this history of Berlin she truly memorizes you with the knowledge and backstory of the city. She provides wonderful photos to show further detail of the history and her knowledge with dates of each iconic location it’s absolutely incredible. If only she could have been my history teacher back in my school days! I can not recommend this tour more. When I visit Berlin again in the future, I look forward to attending the tour once more!

I had an incredible experience on the tour! From start to finish, everything was well-organized and seamless. The guide Thor was extremely knowledgeable and made the journey both informative and engaging. Thor -our tour guide is just a perfect person in a perfect place. If you are for the first time in Berlin, that's the best way to start.

BEST CYCLING TOUR EVER!! We took a 3 hour tour, a group of 12 people visiting Berlin over the weekend. Sam (name of the guide) was just awesome. Inspiring to listen to, very good knowledge of the subject (history of Berlin). He was a student at the university with a major in History. Funny, smart. The ride easy easy to do, you don't need to be an athlete to do the ride. Along the way you will see famous buildings and important places in the Berlin history.

Dan was our guide for the day and he was awesome. He knew plenty about the sights we went to see. Ensured that we all managed to stay as a group throughout the bike ride through Berlin. It was a great experience! If you are curious to ride a bike in berlin or want to see all the important things in one day, this is the way to go.

Thank you Thor what a fantastic guide you were. If you are thinking about what to do in Berlin well book a tour with these guys. We booked the 3 hour highlights tour and it was a fantastic way to get an idea of where to go and see. Thor our guide was fantastic and also gave us some tips and hints and helped us get our bearings for our short time in Berlin. Thank you Thor from the tight Scots 😉

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour (and I’m nervous of riding in cities!). Nick was a great tour guide and managed the pace of the group well. He shared interesting information about the city’s past and present, and was able to answer questions from the group. I would definitely recommend this tour!

I loved this tour! We did the Berlin highlights tour with Nate and we saw everything. Nate told us the history behind each of our stops while keeping it fun and entertaining! Berlin is built on flat land so even the bike ride itself was very enjoyable and Nate made us feel very safe while cycling through the city. We got more than enough time at each location and enjoyed every minute of it. Would definitely recommend this tour 😊

We did the 3 hour Berlin Highlights tour with Nate. I am not very confident on a bicycle in general but this was thoroughly enjoyable - it helped that we were in a group on proper cycle lanes (for most of the tour) and given clear instructions on what to expect. I highly recommend this!

We did a short 3hr bike tour and it is one of the best things you can do in berlin. Our instructor Claudia was funny, knowledgeable and friendly. Information was brief but still extremely informative. The bikes were comfortable and the pace of the group was leisurely. There was no rush to get anywhere and the times to explore the different locations were perfect. If you are seeing berlin at all this is a MUST DO! Thank you Fat Bike Tours for such an enjoyable experience.

We had one full day in Berlin and my wife picked the all day bike tour from 10am until 4:30pm for our family of four, and we were so happy with it. Kyla was so knowledgeable and friendly and easily answered all of our questions. The pace was great for most people (about 10 - 12 mph) and was set for the slowest person. [My daughter only occasionally rides bikes]. We saw so many amazing things. Even the biergarten stop was refreshing and the food was really good (we tried 3 different things). We got tips on more to see outside the tour as well. A MUST DO for anyone visiting Berlin! NOTE:I wouldn't recommend for kids younger than 13 years of age because of the amount of biking (~14 miles of biking) unless they're really good riders as you do occasionally ride in the road.

Did the Cold War tour with Nate and the Fat tire tours company and what a great tour it was. Nate gave us a great understanding of what went on in Berlin after the war and the history surrounding the wall. Very knowledgeable, great bits of history, story telling and a chance to cycle around parts of Berlin you may otherwise miss. Totally recommend doing one of their tours. 😁😁😁👍👍👍

This was a great tour. We’ve been on Fat Tire tours now in London, Paris, and Berlin and it’s such a great way to keep my daughter happy, get some exercise, and learn the rich histories of different cities all at the same time. Berlin has such a unique story, I’d definitely recommend this tour!

We did the 6 hour bike tour of Berlin and had a great time! Alicia was a great guide - funny and informative - and she kept an eye on us to make sure no one got left behind. She was happy to answer questions and had a great attitude. Berlin is such an amazing city with a very complicated history…and she was able to break it down and “untangle” the different story lines. The routes were easy biking, even for beginners, and Berlin feels like a pretty safe city to explore on bike, so I would definitely recommend it. We love Fat Tire Bike Tours and are looking forward to our next one in Florence!

Artie elevated our trip with his fun and engaging personality. He knew his history well and articulated it well. He was real, funny and informative. The chalk drawing of The Cold War was the best explanation I’ve ever ever heard of that time period and he did it all in under 10 minutes! Thank you so much for this experience. We will recommend this to anyone coming to Berlin.

Did a 3 hour City Highlights tour with Anthony. Tour was great. All over the city, but didn’t seem like we were going so far and didn’t get tired. Anthony provided great insights into each stop. More than just what it was, but put the place into context and events. Really great. Great personality too. Group was very safe and clear about what to do and not do while riding around. Look forward to another tour with Fat Tire soon!

Could not be happier with the Segway tour We scheduled a private bike tour, but the day before one of us had a knee injury and was very concerned they would not be able to complete the bike tour. When we arrived we saw the Segways and asked Nate our guide if there was anyway we could change over to a private Segway tour instead. He went above and beyond and got us 3 Segways. Was the highlight of our time in Berlin! Nate then led us on a great tour of Berlin. We felt as if we saw most everything. He was very knowledgeable, spoke fluent English and never made us feel rushed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6.5 hour bike tour with Nate. We were a small group of 10 which was perfect and Nate’s instructions regarding what to expect traffic wise between stops was excellent. I felt totally safe the whole time. Nate provided great insight into the history of Berlin in a very uncomplicated way. I loved his visual representation using a chalk diagram of the geographic position of Germany, the build up to the iron curtain and Berlin Wall. I have a much greater understanding of this period in German history. I highly recommend this tour and am so happy I chose to do it.

So I think I have a new favorite image of Berlin, and that is an Irishman named Rowan (our Guide) saying in regards to a pair of churches, (please say this in an Irish accent); "Since you're handing out churches, might we have one as well.". When it rains, sometimes it pours and it was for our bike history tour of Berlin. However a great time was had by all. Our guide Rowan was so knowledgeable and and approachable that anything we wanted to know, he had available for us. I'm not sure a better guide exists for this particular tour. The bikes were in good repair and easy to ride, and I was easily able to find a helmet that fit. I was a little worried about traction given the rain but the tires on the bikes were appropriate for the weather. We both started and ended on time which is amazing because I never felt that I was being rushed. Rowan made sure we had time to photograph what we wanted to and take the time we needed at each location. The price vs. what was delivered was the steal of the day. Absolutely worth it. I don't think you can go wrong with any Fat Tire Tour.

We had a great Highlights Tour with Jim last week! Jim is really passionate about what he talks about in contrast with some other tour guides I have had who just reproduce prewritten texts. Thanks Jim! I also wanted to leave a review at Yotpo but don't understand why it is obligitory and don't want to fill in my gender. Could you address this unnecessary obligation? It turned me and possibly others away.

It was a great experience and I got to see lots of really cool things! My guide Sam did. a really good job at explaining the history behind every place that we went to and told us a few stories as well. Sam was not only very knowledgeable about our stops but the other places that we just passed by as well. If your looking for a really good sightseeing experience I would totally recommend this to anyone! Great job Sam!

😠 Artificial, rehearsed. The guide was utterly boring, self centred and rehearsed. Also a bit discriminate. I walked out 15 mins in the tour cause I felt offended.

😠 This review is for Stern und Kreis. The crew are hostile towards Americans—beware. I asked a male crew member in English how to access the roof deck & he looked like he wanted to spit on me and said angrily, “there’s only one way.” If it was clear, I would not have asked. I was traveling alone with...
