I have to correct my 5 star rating from 3 years ago. It really got incredibly dirty. The greasy handles are creepy. How should you clean them? Your brushes are falling apart... The locker room is too small and smells so bad that I can't go into it without feeling sick. The shower has been closed for at least a year. In the evening the hall is regularly completely overcrowded. People walk under you when you're hanging on the wall and endanger themselves and me. Lots of volume poses a risk of injury. The mats in the training area are dirty and falling apart. People take off their bouldering shoes and train barefoot. That's what the mats smell like... The devices there are simply trashed. .

The music is simply unbearable: primitive techno from tinny-sounding speakers and way too loud. Was there any trouble with Gema or why are you playing such crap?

Berta Block is the best and the most professional climbing gym in Berlin. There is everything for amateurs and the gym is excellent even for pro climbers. Berta Block is very modern, well equipped, clean, organized and full of interesting boulder problems. There are 2 huge halls and one smaller hall with very long overhang boulder routes. This long overhang section is something I haven’t seen in other gyms in Berlin and is very good for improving your stamina. There is huge space for physical exercises and for board climbing too. Changing rooms are also very clean and organized. I’m really impressed with this gym in every aspect.

It is the largest climbing gym in Germany as far as I know. Routes for all tastes. Good vibes. Unfortunately, they are not included in Urban Sport, so I will probably stop going there.

Very good boulder gym, in my opinion, best in Berlin. Four big areas as seen in the photos All levels from very easy to very hard. Also different styles all over the place, balance, power, hanging, and so on. There is also a bar where you can buy drinks and food. Price is 10€ and you can rent the shoes there. There is also a little gym and a Moon Board One thing is missing however, they do not have a campus board or other specific climbing training material

Loved it! Staff was super nice at the desk. They spoke english. You should take your own lock if you want to use the lockers. Parking was free.

Spent half the day there with both kiddieds. It was super crowded but everything was spread out. You could climb all the time. Price/performance tip top!! WE WILL BE BACK!!! Addendum - I'm now there every Sunday and, if work allows, a second time during the week. Best mobility training ever in my opinion. I can only recommend it to office people/people who have to sit a lot. With a little training you can experience success quite quickly. Furthermore, the other guests are always friendly and you get good tips if you get stuck - definitely a CLEAR cooperation, instead of everyone for themselves!!!! Through the 4 halls you have enough routes to work out and you can always find a route where you can relieve all your pent-up stress because you just can't get up 😂😂 CONCLUSION: TOP PEOPLE TOP COMMUNITY PRICE/PERFORMANCE TIPTOP (*-*) Climb until the doctor comes!!!!

Actually a nice hall that I would have liked to give 5 stars -1 star because it is too expensive for me compared to other halls in Berlin and cannot be combined with the urban sports club. -1 star because you can't borrow a lock to lock your things. Other halls do this better.

Excellently done, but unfortunately very annoying rules. You are not allowed to walk barefoot on the mats but have to keep your bouldering shoes on. I don't know any other hall and it's really unpleasant. But at least no one complained about not following the rule. The drinking rule is different. The fact that you shouldn't leave bottles on the mat is also standard in other halls and I think it's okay as long as it's not enforced too strictly. Here in Berta you're not even allowed to stand on the mat while drinking from your bottle. I was actually warned about it several times during my one visit by a very annoying trainer. Unpleasant and inappropriate. Despite your great routes, I'd rather go to one of the many other halls where things are a little more relaxed.

I've been there four years ago and it was good. This time (2023) the cafe was still good but the boulder experience was really bad. The colour coded grade system was confusing, (dark green and dark blue are so close together when the laminated labels are reflecting ambient lights.. then there's a dark purple and a black same issue) but that's not even starting to talk about inclusion of people with color vision deficiencies. The locker rooms are way too small for a climbing gym that size and there's not enough toilets either. Oh and you can't shower there, the showers are closed (supposedly since 2020 during COVID). The worst part was how dirty and slippery the holds were. A picture's worth a thousand words so I'll attach some... All in all I will think twice about visiting next time I'm in Berlin. There's plenty of alternatives that deserve a look. But to be honest not all is bad, their Quiche is awesome and the Vegan Chocolate Cake is great, too.

4 halls packed with well-built boulders, a must for roof lovers #Longline boulder - good and cheap beer for afterwards. Next time Berlin - we'll be back!!

In the beginning I really liked the hall, but now not that much anymore. They don't change the routes that often and a lot of the routes are not that creative, or they are set for taller people. It's also pretty cold there. On weekends it gets pretty crowded so that it becomes hard to climb and the changing room is also too small. Unfortunately, it is not part of the Urban Sports Club so I won't be visiting it until i am a member.

The gym is great. However, I've been going there for more than a year and my card was never accepted. I always paid by cash, even though I tried with the card every time. Now, they don't take cash (which I do not understand why and was never explained to me when asked) and my card is still not accepted. I had to ask a friend to pay for me. I suggest taking all cards or at least taking cash, if not all cards are accepted. I can't go by myself because all payment methods available to me are not accepted.

4 huge halls for bouldering with challenging climbs and very suitable for beginners and newbies. The atmosphere is typically Berlin-relaxed and relaxed. Price performance is 100 percent correct for the offer. The staff is friendly and accommodating and happy to help

love the coffee and the brown chocolate cookies with cream in them. Unfortunately, these are rarely available. The hall is nice and big, there are 4 halls. However, I think the levels are sometimes not right. Or there could be more levels (some level2 routes seem more like 3s to me). There are a lot of difficult (level 4-6) routes, which is a shame sometimes.

Berta Block is one of my favourite places in Berlin. Everyone is super friendly... from staff to climbers. Routes are many and well thought out. Great for all levels. Generous stretching/yoga areas plus an area for strength training. There’s great pies, quiches and deserts... you can spend the whole day there if you want. Defiantly one of Berlins most important cultural places.

Great place! Definitely again! We were there for almost the whole day (from 13:30 - 19:00) and really enjoyed it. There are 4 gigantic halls were the first two are accessible for everyone and the last two are 16+ only. Even in the first two halls only there is a lot of climbing tracks with a really accurate difficulty ranking, wich you can find in the fotos. The food (wich is also in the fotos) is really ok, and definitely very good for a bouldering hall. They have different food every day. The drinks are also fairly standard. The climbing experience and customer service was AMAZING.

Are you a seasoned climber looking to either maintain your fitness or continue your training cycle while on vacation/holiday? Read on. Just come. I know it might be a bit further than you had hoped to travel for your session, but I promise you, if there was a Michelin guide for climbing gyms, this would receive 3 stars. A 3 star rating by definition means that it deserves to be a destination on its own. If you weren’t planning on spending more than 2 hours for your session, then guess what, you’re changing your plans. Ok, enough waxing poetic, here are the specifics. Massive climbable wall space. Varied angles with top notch setting and hold selection. The setting has a great mix of classic style and more modern comp movements so don’t worry about missing out of anything. There is one absolute stand out feature though. A ramp. Not just any ramp. The biggest ramp I have personally encountered since ramps of this scale are an absolute liability in the US for gyms accessible by beginners and novices. Hard to capture in photos so please refer to the attached video. There is also a separate system board room. A Kilter Board, 12x10(!!) fixed at 50 degrees and a 2019 Moonboard at the standard 40 degrees. I honestly could have spent my sessions in this room alone, but the rest is the gym is so varied that I was able basically spend two days just doing a “two try” session for both days. Just FYI, the board room does see sun in the late morning into early afternoon during the summer season so plan accordingly. There is another room with passable training accoutrements like weights, hangboards, and bars so you’re good on that. Most importantly. There is air movement all throughout the gym since every room has large garage door entry and exits. Fans are also available interspersed throughout the gym if needed. Ok, I think this is enough info to convince anyone. However, if you’re still holding out, then perhaps you didn’t want those gains anyway. Cheers!

It's one of the best bouldering gyms in Berlin. It caters to all levels - from beginner to expert, and there are multiple routes for each level. On top of that, Berta Block has a gym. Nothing fancy, but I would say it's perfect for someone who is interested in bouldering + weight lifting. What I like the most about the place is that it is vibrant & and spacious, and they've a small cafè inside. Perfect for catch-up with friends. :) - pricing: day-pass ticket -> 10 € If you intend to rent the boulder shoes, it will cost you 4€ in addition.

Good, huge bouldering hall, but there have been no showers for ages and the toilets are rarely clean and the changing rooms stink. Some of them seem a bit shabby, otherwise the boulders are great, even if I find the colors a bit confusing compared to the number scales.

Maybe really nice for a family trip. Not recommended for athletes. The handles are terribly dirty (our brushes don't help anymore), the volume is so big that parts are chipping off and the carpet in the warm-up area was also really disgusting.

Very good gym. 5 stars would be if it were to open earlier (8am) during the week. Then I'd definitely get the yearly subscription instead of my biweekly visit.

The only thing I did not find here is campusboard, and I would prefer a bigger hangboard possibility, but there is enough space tomake it in future. Otherwise it's the best bouldering gym I've been to so far.

It's super big, with several rooms in a row. Old-fashioned block, just the way we like it. Strength, finesse... I haven't seen too many coordinates, and I'm not going to complain about it! Excellent for anyone who loves climbing!

I feel like everyone who boulders owes themselves to come here. I have never seen such a big climbing gym and all. the walls and holds are in great condition. great for begginer and advanced climbers. Also the food is really good and not expensive!

This place is very nice and very close to the city-center so you can go shopping beforehand or after. This bouldering place serves coffee, bars and quiches . It is spacious, but still very full and crowded. you can rent bouldering shoes and can pay for a full day. There are also special prices, if you want to Boulder there for multiple days. They have a bathroom.

My favorite bouldering gym in Berlin. It is huge and offers a lot of variety in routes for beginners to advanced climbers. The vibe is friendly and they have music playing in the halls. There is also a nice little workout area as well as a yoga/ stretching space. A nice bonus is their cafe which offers good coffee, cold drinks, tasty cakes and quiches. All well priced.

Pretty bad service... You're not allowed to have bare feet in there, so if you don't have other footwear than climbing shoes, it's unbearable to be there.... The employees got very angry if you just took them half off....
