Boring, underwhelming and a waste of time. Badly curated and much ado about nothing. The best thing about it was that it was free and we didn’t have to pay for it.

Exhibition Museum Mitte to the Leipziger Straße residential complex Planning, building and living in the capital the GDR I was able to take a guided tour with the exhibition curator Edouard Compere. Many interesting details, insight into the planning of the houses, background information were presented with great appreciation for the architects and builders by Mr. Compere. It wasn't the often negative, arrogant view of the architecture of the GDR that I had to experience in some places. My best thanks to the curator! This exhibition absolutely deserves Even after it ends, it will continue to be shown in public spaces or perhaps the WBM has rooms to present this exhibition. Very interesting for residents of Leipziger Straße and people interested in architecture. Free entry and guided tour 👍

Now I was finally there again after the renovation. Nice little museum in Mitte with interesting insights and exhibitions. What I found particularly interesting were the many photos of the sometimes poor living conditions of Berlin citizens at the turn of the century and the classroom with original furniture. The visit is definitely worth it. Admission is free, but a small donation to the museum is certainly fair and would be appreciated. Perhaps at some point there will be an exhibition of an original kitchen or living room from the period, as was the case before the renovation.

Small - but nice: from interesting and bizarre details to the crucial topics that moved and move the people of this district in the past and at the moment or were important for its creation and change - presented in a modern and appealing way, not too much, not too little, ideal for being able to go into exemplary detail on the topic of Berlin... and also very friendly service - and with free entry!

(Translated by Google) Really one of the better neighborhood museums. Free entry to the permanent exhibition and friendly people. The exhibition first tells a few facts about the district, then it becomes historical on the upper floor. First establishment, then a big issue is industrialization and labor movements. Then it's about citizen participation and urban participation, especially the campaign to rename the M-Strasse is presented. Finally, art (painting and literature) of the district is presented. Again a lot of industrialization but also after the war. Gladly again. Gerne wieder.
