OK, it is a Wetherspoons BUT for the money you can’t ask for more. I liked the steak. The ultimate burger could be better. For a quick cheap meal and a couple of pints I can’t really fault it.

We were celebrating my friends birthday here and asked if it was okay to light the candles inside. They said no but we clarified if if it was ok to light them outside. The answer was yes. We went outside to complete the celebrations and as my friend blew out her last candle a member of staff came outside and started shouting at us saying we were being irresponsible and attempting to ‘burn her pub down’. I completely understand fire safety however we were outside and clarified with staff that this was allowed. We were then cut off from the bar. The rest of the team of the team were lovely however this one particular member of staff ruined our experience. We love the dragons inn usually and go often and something like this isn’t common for us so we are especially disappointed it happen on a birthday. We decided to take out business elsewhere after this (The Briar rose). Very disappointing. :(

Prepare for over an hour waiting for an english breakfast plate. Waiters ignoring customers when called. Table next to us just left before they received their order. Also, no cups available so I needed to go to the bar and get take away cups. Update: breakfast arrived with no eggs after ~70 minutes. No one came and informed us about it either. They just served with an extra hash brown instead of two eggs. Just choose another pub if you want to enjoy your meal & drinks!

Good food, fair prices, a toilet on the ground floor in a whetherspoon! Good atmosphere, bit of a cue but it's a city. Good location next to the hippodrome.

Lovely place for lunch. Fortune to get a table outside on such a warm day. Was quite busy as a result of the warm day and this impacted the wait times for food and drink. That said, a nice lunch experience.

Cozy pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff! We tried out the Thatchers Gold which was a really good alcoholic beverage.

Can't fault it. We had a wait for food. We did not complain. But manager came over apologised and refunded money and gave us meal and drunks on house. Pub clean very busy impressed manager was on the ball and realised we had waited a while for food but we was not going to complain. Very impressed meal nice and well presented for a food pub.

It is a decent bar. The crowd sometimes can get a bit wild though. The beer is cheap sometimes not of the best quality. So cheap beer tag for sure. Another pro thing is that it is open really late so you can get a drink here if everything around it is closed. The staff is nice and polite and pretty cool actually. You also have decent amount of food that you can eat.

Good place. Great price for lunch with their combo of main with a beer. Well breaded, thick piece of cod. Quite dark inside, even in the bright day.

Title: A Shining Star at the Pub - Meet Stacy! Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting the pub and was lucky enough to have Stacy as my server. From the moment I walked in, Stacy's warm and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. Her attentive and cheerful service truly elevated my experience. Stacy's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her recommendations were spot-on. She took the time to answer my questions and ensured that every detail of my order was perfect. Whether it was refilling drinks or checking in to make sure everything was to my liking, Stacy's professionalism and genuine care stood out. What truly sets Stacy apart is her ability to create a welcoming atmosphere. Her genuine interactions with both customers and coworkers create a positive energy that's infectious. It's evident that she takes pride in her work, and it shows in every interaction. In a bustling pub environment, Stacy's exceptional customer service and radiant personality make her a true asset. If you have the chance to visit the pub, I highly recommend seeking out Stacy for an unforgettable experience. She's the kind of server who turns a regular outing into a memorable occasion. Kudos to Stacy for making my visit exceptional—I'll definitely be back for more of her fantastic service!

Called in for a quick bite before going to the theatre.. food/service was hot and quick, tables/menu cards were grubby, noisy but then it is a bar..!! Overall not bad..

Went in at 5 o'clock on a Friday afternoon for something to eat before our gig, and the place was packed solid. Didn't have to wait long before a table was available. Ordered food and drink via the app. Drinks arrived at the table in no time at all and probably not much longer than a ten minute wait for the food. Had a large mixed grill with a few sides and couldn't fault any of it. Amazing service considering how busy it was.

This pub is opposite the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre and just in the Chinese Quarter. We visited around 3pm on a Saturday and it was absolutely rammed. We only managed drinks which is all we went for. The staff were plentiful and were working at full speed but try as they may, they were well and truly outnumbered by customers! If you're going for pre show drinks, leave plenty of time.

the staff member with the long hair and open shirt, very friendly, quick service, always smiled when brining our drinks/food over. At the time he seemed to be the only staff member on the floor. He’s a credit to your team. :)

China Town area opposite the Hippodrome which is handy, clean and tidy pub with plenty of tables. Open plan so noise travels but not to bad although it is a Thursday evening. All on one level (including both sets of toilets) there's ramp access from Hurst Street so suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Ordered via the app as always. Drinks arrived promptly as did the food. Staff were friendly and polite. Would I visit again, yes!

Lovely Wetherspoons in the centre of Birmingham. Had the Ultimate burger and a pint of Shipyards for less than £12. Staff are superb, serving, cleaning and clearing. Special mention to them.

A lovely Weatherspoons with the normal great selection of food and drinks. You can order on the app or at the bar. Lot's of seating inside and outside. Food came pretty quickly and was well cooked. We had a seat by the window and was lovely watching the world go past.

Great pub in centre of China town in Birmingham !! Close to everything but sadly as per most wetherspoons we've been in the always fail to bring out HOT food. We had a great night last night and thought we'd have breakfast before driving back to London. Waited a while as it was busy but eventually egg and bacon muffins came out , MINUS the bacon !! Took it back and they put Cold bacon on our muffins and handed them back to us. Took one bite and cringed, they were stone cold !!! Couldn't be bothered to complain as in dire need of food so we just ate and left. Sadly that seems to be the way most wetherspoons run, hardly ever get a decent HOT breakfast and have given up eating their usually 😆 Sadly my local is the same and I've complained numerous times but it still happens.

Service was very good. Food was horrific. Venue didn't feel the cleanest. Been to better Spoons, been to worse. Hence the mid score. Certainly wasn't worth breaking the boycott we'd started pre-COVID due to Tim's views, but we were giving it a chance due to convenience.

Meals were OK. They did miss a side order from my friends meal. Shame about 2 young girls (don't know their age but we're young) kept having to go to the toilet and we're very childish and noisy. Our drinks were chilled nicely.

A great place to eat in Birmingham City centre....you can actually afford to eat here. Good atmosphere and always busy. Never had any problems finding a table, even at 6-7pm when your going to the theatre. Cater for vegetarians and vegans. Always eat here when in town.

Came here on a Saturday night for some quick food and a a few drinks before a show. Have to say the food came out very fast after ordering on the app. It was hard to find a table though. Food tasted good and the portion was decent. Cant complain for the price and value for money.
