Absolutely phenomenal! Popped in for a quick stop off on way home, after smelling the food coming out to surrounding tables I decided to stay and eat here instead. I'm so glad I did. They were abit busy last night as I think people had some sort of voucher. But the staff that was on you could tell was working Incredibly hard to serve as quick as they could. They managed to find us a table and squeeze us in as we hadn't booked. After we ordered the food came out within about 20mins no bad considering how busy. The food was hot and sizzling we enjoyed every bite. Will be back to try more

A nice local pub with warm welcome at the till and value for money food. The toilet is clean and tidy too.

Amazing food. I'm impressed with my order of chicken skewers. Nice vibe and friendly staff.

I've been here a few times now, with the girls & the staff are always polite & welcoming. The food is always tasty filling & served hot and its decently priced. We will definitely go again.

Came in with some friends and order some food and drinks. Food came out very quick and was delicious. The atmosphere felt so festive with the xmas decks so well done to who put them up. Definitely coming back sometime soon

I asked for med rare stake, It came out rare and my chips was under cut. They did change it all stake was better chips was better too only one under cut but easy done. My daughter was missing a sausage but was sorted. I told my partner not to eat his gammon and starter fish thing he said its fine. He wished he listened as he got food poisoned.

All the food we had was really nice. One of our party commented that the gammon was the best he had eaten out. Generous portions, especially the puddings . Great and enjoyable experience had by all ,nice birthday meal.

It's been years since I'd been in this pub( Bass House). We went and had lunch there and was pleasantly surprised at the good and varied menu. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We will definitely be returning. Another great night celebrating my mother's birthday. The food was amazing,10 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. Excellent service from the waitresses too.

Visited The Amber Tavern this afternoon just for a quick afternoon drink. The outside is well kept, plenty of car parking, looking fresh and welcoming. Drinks - Served cold and refreshing from the bar. The offer for the drink in the app scanned no problem at all. Staff - The guy who served me was happy and friendly. Didn't have to wait very long to be served. Atmosphere - It is fairly busy for 2pm, but plenty of tables well spaced out so no problem finding somewhere to sit. The O2 WiFi is working fine and no problems working from laptop on it. Only comment is the background music is particularly quiet, didn't really notice it unless listened really hard. Could be up a touch - not to be loud but just to add to ambience as could mask the road noise, grass cutting outside and other peoples conversations. Food - Didn't eat here, but the menu has a lot on it. Looks a more premium from other Sizzling have visited. Plenty to try for next time. Overall, well worth the visit!

The steak was ordered medium rare, it come well done. Was going to complain but barely any staff about and none come up to the seating area where we was, nobody asked if food was okay. The mash was cold. I wouldn’t come back if I didn’t have too, how can a chef not know how to cook a medium rare steak? The middle was completely brown and I had a bad throat that day so I could barely chew and swallow the steak , most of it was left, worst £17 I’ve spend

First ever visit today and what an experience this was? All high chair were disgusting and filthy not only mine but another member of public from another table was cleaning hers with the spray she found on the bar. The menu is extremely miss leading 2 meals for £11 so hence we stopped for a cheap meal noo!! only 4 meals in this deal it's ok if like curry or fish 🤣. The carpet looked like hadn't been hoovered for a week and wasn't busy no excuse!! The food was lovely on a high note hot and fresh. Took ages for 1 pudding to come out so after asking for it got told oh they has lost our receipt so had wait even longer. Worst apart of it is what they bring your knifes and forks in 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 staff were so moody and laid back a sloth could work faster.. I will be avoiding this pub

Great service when ordering our food and drinks at the bar. We had a minor issue with our food but Frankie dealt with it in a very professional manner and resolved our issue straight away. I would definitely re visit and highly recommended to friends and family!

The place has just been refurbished, and it's lovely. I've been here twice now, and the staff have been warm and welcoming. The food was served piping hot, quickly, and of good quality. I thoroughly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Sadly said our last goodbye to our beautiful Aunt today and we had a few drinks to celebrate her life we had lovely food and staff were so friendly and attentive.

Another lovely lunch at The Amber Tavern. This time, we went for Sizzling Grilled Chicken on a bed of vegetables, and Sizzling Chicken Fajitas 😋😋😋 Enjoyed every single piece, very, very nice 👌.

First time visitors and found the staff very efficient and friendly. Due to the football and being Christmas time it seemed quite busy, but there was very little wait for drinks or food. Would give 5 stars for drinks but no shamrock ☘ on my Guinness. Will definitely be back soon.

If you like cheap and cheerful this is a great place for you. I come in here to drink with my friends, very cheap place to come. It’s warm and comfortable. The staff are very friendly too. Car park has ample parking if you drive here. Can’t comment on the food as I’ve never eaten here. The men’s toilets I would say need sorting out as the toilet door won’t close or open once inside. Meaning they can’t be used.

Beautifully newly refurbished pub, the food was lovely, good priced and decent sized portions plenty of choice I've had a evening meal and a breakfast meal nice atmosphere and lovely friendly,smiling well mannered, pleasent staff who are happy to help. Weekends have entertainment been to a few and always a good night with varied music for all ages. They have had some good singers and groups .

I came here for a family meal, there was 20 of us. I wasn't particularly looking forward to it, because I perceive the pub as a cheapo place. I was pleasantly surprised by the meal. All of my family enjoyed there meals as well. Considering there were 20 of us the wait for food was quite short. The level of service was good, with the staff being friendly and bringing our drinks to the table. The food price's are low compared with other places. So overall the Amber Tavern offers good value for money.

We had early dinner hear The place is nice enough The seats were a little uncomfortable (but I have a bad back so I'm sure fine for the average person) They quickly accommodated our need for extra seating. I wanted to change my peas for broccoli (was happy to pay more) but they "couldn't" do this, that I thinks a bit ridiculous. My husband had the loaded surf and turf and he was really underwhelmed. I had the hunters chicken (with peas) and quality chips, I did enjoy mine. The ambiance was pleant, the lighting nice. There is plenty of outside seating although right by the road. There are a few games machines & some child friendly ones. The Lavatorys have plenty of loos and we're reasonably clean. The staff were friendly. Not sure we would choose to dine here unless we were joining friends.

Had my girlfriend's 30th birthday on a Saturday. The pub started renovation before the event however the staff at the pub arranged a section of the pub for us and made every effort to accommodate us and sort out the buffet and give a hand with decorations and accommodating awkward dietary requirements for certain guests. Made a special day run smoothly and a credit to their chain! If you need a venue to host a party give these guys a shout, very happy and have a very happy girlfriend! 😊

We ordered food, I ordered the rib and rump, the steak was tiny and tasted like it had been frozen. The rib had one tiny bit of meat on it the rest was pure fat. So I couldn't eat it. My partners food was okay but didn't enjoy it that much. The drinks and the desserts were great but we wouldn't come back again

First time back in over a year, as back in the day the food wasn’t great. Thought we would give it another chance after the refurbishment, and we very pleasantly surprised! 😀 food quality was excellent and really well cooked. Previously everything was always a bit too dry and well done but now everything was spot on! Plus the new menu has some great new healthier Sizzling options. We had the salmon and the jerk chicken which were delicious. We will definitely be back 😀😀

I hadn't eaten at this pub for some years but it was just right to celebrate the birthday of a 92 year old!!!! There were 7 of us in the party and we had various items off the menu, all served piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was Saturday lunchtime and not excessively busy.

Our local go to for a meal and drinks as a family! The food you get for the price you pay is fantastic. Drinks are well priced too which is a bonus. Caters for vegan, veggie, good fish options and fresh food steaming at the table on skillets. Great atmosphere, highly recommend. We went to the Beefeater recently for the first time and regretted it and wish we came back to the good old Amber Tavern instead. Never fails!
