Great location, comfortable huge bed (we were in a suite, room 1). Excellent shower & luxury freestanding bath. The decor was modern & fun. Nice little extras like tea, coffee & bottles of water in the room. There was even a mini fridge. The staff were the nicest bunch & put on a good continental breakfast in the bar/pub next door. Highly recommended. Only word of warning, no blackout blinds & the curtains let in a bit too much light in the morning for my preference. It's also right next door to The Button Factory & we could hear the music faintly. Our room being located next to the front door meant overhearing the front door go till quite late. (Was a bank Holiday weekend) Given the location though I think that's more than OK.

A visit that didn't live up to expectations. I stayed two years ago and the place certainly isn't up to the standard of the hotel I expected. Decor in the rooms is looking tired with some fixtures missing or broken. TV remote did not work and no buttons on the TV to activate it. Some soft-close door hinges are faulty so I could hear a door slamming all night long. Breakfast has really gone downhill, only offering a cold "continental" breakfast, served from Tesco packaging. Please bring back the proper cooked breakfast options. Overall I was pretty disappointed.

We stay in a lot of hotels, and this probably was my favourite stay anywhere ever. We stayed in the junior suite, and it is perfect for a couple that is looking to spend some quality time together. The room is beautiful, and the location is excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for us, Lauren was so lovely. Highly recommend :)

SO COLD It was December and snowing outside and there was no heating on…, no heating on! At least there was hot water and the shower was top notch. Quality fixings and powerful, but no heating on in the shower room either. The Townhouse itself is a lovely building with a sympathetic conversion and an impressive flight of stairs leading to the upper floors. My room had lovely high ceilings and a big window keeping the original layout, I guess, around a comfy single bed, vintage desk and wardrobe. The window worked well during the day but at night the quirks of the lights meant I had to use my mobile phone to see adequately at times in some parts of the room. Good to know: there is a powerful modern kettle tea, coffee etc in the room but the milk is in a fridge by reception. Better to know: this fridge also has fresh orange and small yogurts for sustenance. So after sleeping in all my clothes to keep warm, breakfast in the adjoining ‘Button factory’ was good with a really helpful guy on hand to assist. Boil your own eggs was fun. Had I stayed in summer, I could, no doubt, have rated the Townhouse much more favourably, but come on people: December, snow and no heating!

I cannot fault our experience at Frederick Street townhouse. Lauren and Dan went above and beyond to cater for our large group booking, making sure that everyone staying at Frederick St had everything we needed. They were well-organized, clear, and efficient, as well as being super friendly and a joy to deal with! I highly recommend Frederick Street if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Birmingham, and would like to extend a massive thank you to Lauren and Dan for making our stay extra special!

Chic old building, charming. Friendly staff, bar/restaurant next door. No breakfast. Our room window could use some attention, but otherwise 5*

Really liked this hotel, it has character and quirky, Very efficient check in and you get given milk for your fridge and there is muslie in your room with proper coffee. You get given a breakfast bag, it's hung on your door very early. Fantastic location for the Jewellery Quarter and a short walk into the centre. I liked it so much l have booked again, can't wait 😊 Second visit, the breakfast was very different, pick up muslie and milk at the reception there were muslie bars available but that was it. I stayed in a small double room, room 4 under the stairs, no real window it looks into a Disco wedding reception Hall, so not great if there is a party next time l am staying in a bigger double room just because of this problem nearer Christmas. The Button Factory pub next door is still a great place to eat and drink.

Overall very nice stay. Location is great. Room decor is superb, rooms very spacious, heating in our room was very good. Only drawback is breakfast - lacks eggs/protein, and mattress in our room was too soft, still slept alright on it

FST is in a fantastic location, and the staff are cool and welcoming. It was well done out, and the furnishings and bed were comfy. However, two big things let it down. There was an event in the yard below our room. It was so loud we might as well have been at it. The windows were shaking, and it went on into the wee hours. We complained to the assistant manager, who was friendly and apologetic for midnight. They ended up turning it down a little, but it was gone 1 am by the time it had finished. The other thing was the breakfast. The continental breakfast is basically bread and some cheese and meats that have blatantly been out for a few days. We skipped it and went to the Urban cafe around the corner (which was nice but expensive).

Excellent location for visiting the arena, canals and shops. Staff very friendly and rooms spacious and comfortable. No on-site parking but there is on street parking nearby. Some reviews mention not knowing what to do at check in but there's a big sign on the door telling you to go into adjoining bar for the staff!

Really nice stay here, I was pleasantly surprised at how well decorated and modern the inside was here. The host was very friendly and the stay overall was good value for money! Only minus a star for some small issues really: tv had no buttons and the remote didn’t work, window wouldn’t stay open for air and the front door didn’t seem very secure. Just small things.

We had a great stay here, the room was clean, comfy and well presented. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the button factory next door was great for drinks and bite to eat. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

My best mate and I came and stayed here at the beginning of May not realising it was only 10 weeks old as a hotel. Beautiful place, gorgeous decor and friendly, helpful staff. The shower in our room, I want it in my house. We came down to see a drag burlesque show and even when we came back late and might have been a little loud we were made to feel welcome and were even allowed to check out an hour later so we could recover and sleep in a little. Definitely coming back again. Hopefully in September when we're seeing another drag show. Thanks for the stay

The hotel was clean and tidy. Nice decor. We were given an upgrade. There is on street parking close by. We were a little disappointed with breakfast, due to Covid they’ve decided to hang breakfast on your door in the morning. Despite the bar being very busy, it was a lovely quiet hotel room.

Excellent location , we went for the suite it was lovely. Really homely and such an amazing stop in the city. Easy reach to the shops however some nice drinking spots if you are looking for a great night out 5*. The Button Factory pub next door the staff are friendly and has amazing food and a great range of cocktails and beers 🙌🙌🙌 also saw a great large screens in the garden so must come back and watch the football here 👍👍👍

Location is good. Check-in is at the Button Factory next door. I stayed in Ro #6 which was very small room and had a firm, twin bed. Oddly the room as a small vestibule to pass through with both a fire door and a room door.

I will start with the staff who are all young, cheery, helpful and approachable but the two that stood out for me was Lauren and Scott . From checking us in to squeezing us in for food, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was excellent. Decor superb and finished to an excellent standard. The double bed was extremely comfortable. Location was brilliant only 20 mins to station and 20 mins to Utilita Arena. Fantastic open top terrace with heaters. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the continental breakfast really let this fantastic place down. Unfortunately it was very poor, a lot of the produce had ran out by 10 am. No croissants, crumpets or pancakes which had been on offer. So all that was left was cereal and toast!
