I had veg thali for Rs 150. Food was simple and good and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity served. But I had to pay gst extra on the food and they had calculated it wrongly. So check the gst amount before paying

The place is very quiet, not conjusted and have a pleasant environment, situated near the Prantik Railway Station.The hotel is very neat and clean, the accessories are modern, different categories of rooms are available here, A.C. non A.C. rooms also. Very Cooperative and helpful staffs . The room service is also very good . The dining hall is quiet large with attached male and female washrooms other than the common washroom for washing hands. The quality of food there is very good . Good security. The roads near this place ta very good . Easy availability of transportation from and near the hotel to travel in the locality. The Kankalitala Temple is near the hotel , it will take like 15 minutes to reach the temple. I will suggest that this hotel is appropriate whenever you come to visit Santiniketan - Bolpur, Birbhum .

Recently we stayed here for couple of days for our Bolpur trip. The Hotel is near to Prantik station around 1.5 km away from Sonajhuri Maath. Overall had a wonderful experience here. The rooms were very clean & all the amenities such as electric kettle, coffee, sugar, soap, shampoo, clean towels, slippers etc were provided. Also the housekeeping team was very prompt on their service. Also we requested for aiburovat decoration & special thali on which Susanta & his team did an excellent job to make that event most special one. Also we found their food to be much better than many popular restaurant near Sonajhuri & Shantiniketan. Would love to stay again.

Sushanta pramanik was an excellent person who helped us. We were about to miss our bus but he took us on his bike and dropped us. It was so delighting to see such a miracle. Great place to stay

The hotel is situated on Prantik Road, about 4.9 km from Bolpur railway station. The location is good and parking for private cars are available. The food quality is good and reasonably priced. Staffs are helpful. Rooms are clean but only issue is that power cuts are a regular affair and the air conditioner does not work during that time.

This review is of the Sonar Taree restaurant rather than of the hotel. I am staying in the area, and have eaten at the Sonar Taree's restaurant twice. I don't speak much Bengali, so was grateful for the English menu; the food was very good, and was served courteously and efficiently. There are certainly aspects in which improvements could be made—it would be good if the cold drinks on the menu were actually available, for instance. Perhaps the A/C facility could be offered to guests in the restaurant; I wasn't sure if it would be polite to request that the A/C be turned on. The chicken biryani, chilli paneer, fish fingers and mixed veg that I ordered as take-out were all excellent and much appreciated by this Westerner who is not up to coping with the kitchen in a typical local home. The fish thali that I had on the one occasion, and the fried pomfret and veg fried rice that I had on the other, were all very good.

The hotel is located in a calm and serene place. It's rooms are nice and clean. General service was good and staffs were friendly.

I am sure many of us are aware of Clint Eastwood's 'The Good, Bad & Ugly'. So, here it goes.. The Good ======== Before reaching Shantiniketan, I had reached out to the Hotel and the Manager was kind enough to block two rooms for us without insisting for any kind of advance payment. The rooms are very comfortable to stay with proper AC cooling along with a decent bathroom. The elevator in the hotel is a bliss to old aged people who has a challenge climbing the stairs. Oh yes, the complimentary tea kit with a electric kettle is certainly anyone would appreciate. We had a two year old kid whose breakfast for 2 days was taken care by the kitchen staff (We had carried the raw materials and the kitchen staff were kind enough to comply with our custom request). The Bad ======= Complimentary Breakfast provided is of very poor quality with pathetic table service at the hotel. We were forced to purchase packaged drinking water at the restaurant. The hotel didn't even care to offer a tea or a glass to drink water during breakfast. Surprisingly, their restaurant has decent business for lunch/dinner for outside people as well as residents. If that be the case, then why the sub standard breakfast to the guests who are staying at the Hotel. Parking is not easy at all for residents since there is no security personnel who manages the parking. You have to take care of your parking yourself (You have to literally sort out the matter with the outsiders who visits the Hotel's restaurant for lunch/dinner). So, in one word the Hotel doesn't have ample parking space though they claim for the same. The Ugly ======= I had decided to go for a AC Room for my chauffeur once I reached the hotel instead of dumping him in the Driver Accommodation available at the Hotel. I got a similar room at a lower rate than the one we were staying. Our chauffeur was prohibited to use the TV available within the room with a 'You have paid a lower rate for a AC Room and since you are a driver, we are not able to provide all the services for a AC Room'. Seriously? What sort of logic is this? I thought when we pay for a room, we are entitled to get all the services for that room no matter what. Our chauffeur was so disappointed with the Hotel staff's behavior that he asked us not to come back to the same Hotel with him.

Sonartaree Hotel & Restaurant One of the best hotel in Prantik, Santiniketan. I stayed in this hotel last November 15th and 16th with my Mrs and our little kid. The hotel is very good in all aspects. Very clean and food quality is very good & hygienic. We thank and love every staff of the hotel. I will stay this hotel every time I go to Santiniketan after this. Every staff of the hotel (e.g Sukanta, Tinku) are very nice & well-behaved. Very homely environment. Best of all Lalu Mahato's behavior is so good like younger brother.😊🥰

Excellent food and location. Very clean and neat. Food preparation is awesome. Will come back again definitely. A must visit resturant for family.

I did not stay there. We had lunch. For my grand daughter they made fried fish. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Clean.

Very poor service

We had an awesome experience in SonarTaree hotel at Santiniketan. This hotel is around five minutes walking distance from Prantik Railway Station. We really got excellent hospitality and services . The rooms are perfectly clean and having all the amenities there. Room services are fast and all the members there are very helpful and well behaved. We have celebrated our Aiburobhat occasion over there and they arranged everything and awesome decorations they did. I would definitely say about Mr. Susanta Pramanik who arranged this entire event perfectly. The food qualities are excellent and prices are very decent as well and definitely the mutton was just like a heavenly taste. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this hotel once . This is one of the best hotel at Santiniketan

Had lunch there with my friends. Got our stomachs filled at a very attractive price plus with good food. We loved the restaurant. It was clean and affordable.

Well connected to Prantik Railway Station. Rooms are excellent and clean. Restaurant is well maintained and food quality is superb and variety of items are available. Hotel staffs are very caring.Hotel surroundings is wonderful. Pleasant experience to stay here.A perfect destination for weekends 👍

Worst experience yesterday. We ordered our lunch for two veg. thalis and mutton curry a day before. After reaching there at 1.30 pm ,they said that mutton was not ready yet. After 40 minutes, they served the lunch. Mutton was not properly boiled and full of bones included small hair, veg curries were not up to the mark, for brinjal fry you need a microscope. It seems that they have taken their customers for granted . If you have enough money and time to waste then you may visit their resturant .

The cuisine range is really good. We live in the middle East and pay annual visits to India. This was a new spot which caught our eye. Upon entering we were greeted by the receptionist. She was really sweet and guided us through the restaurant menu. And let me add , the food was delicious. Paneer was one of the best dishes there according me. However I would suggest to make reservations and order 1 hour prior on call

Try the mutton thali. Authentic Bengali cuisine. The food was tasty and the service was fast. I would suggest preordering before arriving. Definitely recommend place for food if you are visiting shantiniketan

Very bad experience in so called Sonar taree . The food quality was very unsatisfactory. The waiter misled us with menu. Got mutton meal. The portion were too small with bony pieces. They misled with the billing too. Got 100 rupees short in exchange return. Had to tell them to give the 100 rupees. Staff behaviour was also very unprofessional. So be careful if u tend to have food here. Check the bill properly.

Tremendous poor quality of food also room service. Charge is huge but do not serve proper food..paid 320/- for mutton kasa but served 4 pcs only full bone pc. So do not ever book this hotel. Unacceptable behaviour from the staff. Highly dissatisfied. Outrageous overall.

The best part about the place is the food. They have a wide variety of food to choose from & the food quality is awesome. We visited with a big group & we tasted almost all the items. All preparations were lip smacking.The staffs were good. We got to hear from them later that they serve a special thali which we missed this time. Next time we are going to Shantiniketan, we will surely plan to have that. Would recommend everyone to have food from here if you visit Shantiniketan.

The rooms are very neat and clean . The staffs are very cooperative and they also helps in advising plans of trips .. Food was fresh and was good both in quantity and quality.. I had a very relaxing time there and I will like to visit it again.. *lovely experience*

Service is not that good. They don't provide drinking water in rooms. After many reminders same was provided. Hot water for bath was missing even after several requests. Power back was not there during our stay, however it was temporary as gen set was out of order. Room telephone services are not available. Rooms are good and location is also good as it is located in very calm place. Away from pollution, traffic, market congestion etc.

Love The Food Quality! You Must Try Out Their Coffe! Love It!
