Very nice eye catching metal architecture, nice and clean. But not many interesting brands.

Ok for shops like next, new look, body care etc. Plenty others on offer. I usually use the next and it's on two floors so plenty of choice. I've also visited the cinema too which is reasonable. The vaults in the market place has a range of restaurants too, usually a nandos for me! Car park is reasonably priced and if I'm coming into town whether it be the market place or not I'll usually park here too.

Lovely place has shops, cinema, the vaults underneath which is so pretty. I just would prefer a different choice of shops. And more eating places in the vaults. But the rent is very expensive for business owners. It could be a night out in itself if it had a couple more bars and food places. They tend to open and close quite quickly. So much potential

So many options of shopping and almost all the brand's are available. The place is welcoming and not much crowded. There are massaging chairs here which offers massage for a minute for 1 GBP. The mall is on the Bolton high street and offers branded shopping, food outlets, restaurants, cinema, play area and what else needed... It's surely recommended.

I have visited here with my family from Manchester City Centre. This museum and library have us a good day-trip. I particularly like the exhibition about the history of Bolton. We had lunch in Nando’s after the visit to the museum. Food and beverages are great. I like the interior design which’s vintage.

Regular ol run of the mill mall. Lots of stores to choose from, only thing that's disappointing is the jungle play area they had for kids (Amazonia) is no longer there. That place was a heaven for the kids, fairly cheap, friendly staff. Sad to see it go but hopefully something similar replaces.

I like this market place: pleasant and safe. The Vaults (basement area) is cool! The car park is cheap. Unfortunately it seems that the market place is not very attractive for business… it may seem empty during the week and sad to see that the -remaining- shops are closing very early.

Clean entrance area and friendly security mall staff. However, I walked into JD Sports and was less than impressed. It has to be the most arrogant, unacceptable body language staff EVER! Let me explain further.... I walk into the JD Sports unit in Old Markt Place, Bolton. The store looked clean and tidy and welcoming at first look. BUT that's when it all went wrong for me. I was trying some jackets on and suddenly felt like I was being accused of a suspected shop lifter. I was just trying to see how some of the jackets looked on me before I decided to purchase a jacket for myself. The JD Sports staff followed me around the store and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, especially because you could easily hear there internal store radio's chatting to each other saying keep on eye on the front of house meaning keep an eye on me. Never Ever have I felt so unbelievably, totally uncomfortable in any retail shop then I did in JD Sports. The funny thing is I then decided to walk to Sports Direct Store in Bolton Town Centre were your greeted at the top of the store escalator by friendly, approachable and enthusiastic member of Sports Direct staff member. Stright away, I felt at ease and relaxed. No staff member followed you around, and I tried some jackets on and found what I was looking for and went to pay at the store till the area. Again, he was greeted with a smile from the cashier and asked if there was anything else I could do for you. I replied no I'm great thanks. After my purchase, the cashier said, "Thank you sir enjoy the rest of your day. What an amazing experience it was thean JD SPORTS. Definitely stick with Sports Direct in future buys for me. JD Sports get some customer service experience, but I guess with the JD Sports price tag, if the store sells one item, they can afford not to have customers like me, hay folks. This is my honest opinion of my poor experience of JD Sports in Bolton and my fab experience of Sports Direct in Bolton. Thanks for reading, folks.

Small but cute shopping centre. Could use more shops, very empty, especially near the back. The basement is probably the best part of this shopping mall that makes it stand out from the rest.

A medium sized shopping mall with JD, Next, H&M, Costa coffee, Nando and you can enjoy your shopping with a sip of coffee or even dining for dinner.

The Market Place Shopping Centre is a dynamic, vibrant shopping venue in Bolton England. It's situated in a prime location in the city centre, providing customers with easy access to a wide range of shops, cafes and other amenities. The shopping centre is well-designed and clean, with spacious car park, walkways and helpful staff. Shoppers can find a variety of both high-street and more individual boutique shops, providing something to suit all styles and budgets. The Market Place also features a good selection of restaurants, cafes and eateries, making it a great place to rest, relax and enjoy a bite to eat with friends and family. The famous Light cinema is also located inside All in all, the Market Place provides an enjoyable shopping experience, in an attractive and convenient environment.

Great amount of shops, The light cinema is brilliant better than cineworld. Great addition to market place. The vaults have been beautifully restored. Accessible for prams and wheelchair users plenty of lifts, can be tedious waiting for them when its busy.

Nice shopping centre, good variety of clothes shops, few empty units upstairs but they will probably filled once primark opens up here with their bigger store. Vaults downstairs is great looks amazing, could do with a few more eateries.

When u want good wears for kids, just pop in Next.I wanted a shoe but the size wasn't in store. One of their staff placed an order for me at the pay point and I got the shoe next day

Not great. And getting worse. Shops shutting every time I go. No other shops taking their place. You have to pay for parking too. Bolton Council should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

What a dump Bolton in general and The Market Place in particular have become. Pretty much never visit the town now and a quick trip through today shown that's the right decision!!

Nice and clean, but quiet, and not a patch on the old one I'm afraid. Eee back in day when th'only security guard needed were thee mam 🀣🀣

Once anchored by Debenhams, this rejuvenated old market hall is still fighting to stay relevant. It has a decent set of restaurants and bars in the basement, and a good selection of shops. However, housing a model railway club and a unit (closed on Saturday) for Bolton University suggests that even this, the most up to date and relevant part of the town centre, is struggling to attract stores. Still, it is an attractive centre with a cinema and deserves to be more popular.

Friendly place, looking nice decorated for the festive season. You will find bars and eateries in the basement and 2 more floors of various businesses and a cinema on the top floor. The building is clean and bright with good toilet facilities. Many events throughout the year, usually at the weekend Only downside is it's a large building and can feel cold if sat on the mall. You might find the man with the white beard and red coat in December.

Really good shopping centre which is always clean and has beautiful decorations and seasonal times. The underground area is brilliant and they have added an arcade. The cinema in here is really good and they offer discounts for students. The variety of shops and food places is very impressive. Well lit and parking is also offered here.

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what I should say about this place...it used to be the old market, bustling and thriving...now it's modernised with big brand stores...less busy and looks like every other high street shopping area. It looks okay but it's lost it's sparkle I'm afraid

Dry warm place to shop though quite a few empty shops now debenhams has shut. Nice restaurants down in the vaults, and great place to go for shopping, food, then a visit to the cinema all under one roof.

It's a huge mall, with not a lot of choice. There's a lot of open space. But just not enough stores. So that's why I've given it a 4 out of 5.

A third of the shops with *to let"signs on!!! Apart from the vaults should have left the place as it was, when it had its own identity not looking like any of faceless shopping mall.

  • 4/5 GG R. 2 years ago on Google
Many, many shops to go to, good security, its has cool features like the massage seats and its own cinema. The staff overall are very nice and helpful also, there is plenty of parking which is very cheap and is usually never full. To get the full 5 stars though it just needs that something extra for me to be fully satisfied.

  • 2/5 Susang E. 2 years ago on Google
They have now closed BOTH lifts off car park. There are no signs to inform you of this until you get to lifts. Notice says use escalators!!!! Nowhere for disabled/wheelchair to descend. When you come by car no notices whatsoever. Since demise of Debenhams it is a shell of what it used to be. Footfall definitely down.

Very good place with ample shopping options available. However, overall very small and under utilised shopping mall. Still great experience.

  • 4/5 Steven L. 2 years ago on Google
This is a clean place with not too much rubbish about. However, a lot of the good shops have left. No more Debenhams as that has closed down. However, there is a Pandora, Next and JD Sports. The vaults section was largely empty. At least it has a Nando’s

I really like this place. It's close to home so easy access to the cinema, the vaults and good variety of shops. It would benefit with some more entertainment but I've never not enjoyed visiting, always a good atmosphere.

Empty shops galore! Message to the owners: Sort it out, think out of the box and entice new businesses in. However it is clean and security are good at dealing with gangs of kids.

Market place shopping centre is a pleasant addition to Bolton. The shops are modern and contemporary design. The place is colourful and vibrant. The shops are nice with 4 floors of shopping and food. The vault is a great set up. The food areas are clean and very modern. I have eaten here a few times and have always had a decent experience. The only niggle is the parking. 30 mins free but finding a place in the small compact parking lot isn't always easy. But overall a good place to shop and eat.

We came from Burnley to go Wedding Dress Shopping with my Daughter and we were early for the appointment so called in to get a hot drink. The staff were absolutely lovely, so friendly and happy to come and speak to us. One of the young men actually advised not to sit to near the door as it may be to draughty it was so nice for him actually to care. I'd definitely use this shop again. It's nice and clean.

Much better now they finished the cinema - free parking for 60 minutes if shopping is ok but was 90 and that was so much better but get free parking if going to the cinema to watch a film. Good variety of shops. New restaurants in the basement are a great improvement.

Wanted a new belt and purchased a new belt.i was a little nervous at first as mens wear is upstairs but I used the lift. Although the lady couldn't serve me upstairs she allowed me to keep the belt on my person and trusted me to pay for the item. In a truly dark world it restored my faith in humanity

  • 3/5 Heather T. 1 year ago on Google
Not the best. A lot of the shops have closed down and the escalator to go upstairs wasn't working. The only good thing about it was the Hotel Chocolat shop. 😊

Have not visited Bolton for a while an remember the days of an actual market here where you could get practically anything. Although the place is clean and bright I didn't find a lot of choice here now unless you are looking for clothes, shoes or toys or a meal. Possibly a bit hard of me as the high street is suffering as shown by the number of empty shops - maybe time for Bolton to consider pop up shops here to fill the gaps or get some of the energy back.
